Hmm yer. Why now would be my question.
-
Yes according to my shakey general knowledge, many moons ago Kiev was the capital of Russia.
-
Witch Hunt was recorded the same day John Lennon was shot. Trivia I didn't know until a few weeks ago. Somehow adds more menace to a track dipped in menace.

And who is going to be the intellectual ballast? Eh?
-
Strangely attractive. 🤔 The Uma Thurman of the bass world.

I did see on one particular flight a woman with 2 carry on pieces. She was holding her friends bag who was stood next to her who had a broken arm. They wouldn't have it.

John Entwistle or Chris Squire, who do you prefer and why?
Jason Karloff replied to The-Ox's topic in General Discussion
What I loved about Entwistle was he would hide the blinding righthand technique and use a pick if it suited that particular song. Like Boris the spider. -
Ryanair eh. Got to love their website when booking a flight. Wow thats cheap. Would you like a pilot? 10 quid extra. Would you like oxygen in the cabin? 10 quid extra. Do you want the wheels out before landing?....... In the end could of gone B.A

Pink Floyd re-form to support Ukraine
Jason Karloff replied to Tvrtastic's topic in General Discussion
I don't have a problem with Gilmour and Mason getting together under the name of Pink Floyd. Do have a problem with the media going overboard with their reaction, calling it as a shock reunion. If Waters was there, then yes worth the column inches. -
I haven't read this. 🤔😛

( So Capra is latin for goat. That explains Capricorn. Everyday I become less of a brainless Womble......this is good) Anyway , I just wanted to release the things that annoy me in the World of bassdom over the last 38 years back into the wild. I don't expect anyone to agree with any of it and my opinion has no more worth than anyone else's. I'm just lancing the boil so to speak. It's not even worth commenting on really. Just me wiping myself down. So in no particular order: 1: Fender's Sunburst. Some would use the words "classic" or "vintage" or "traditional". Personally I would go for "staid", "brown" and "dull". I want to love looking at you. I don't want to think of my grandmothers living room circa 1925. I have seen the Sun. Not at close quarters I grant you, but it's not this. It really isn't. which leads me on to 2. Fender Multi Stringed Instruments. Stick with the four string thing. You are good at it. 3. People calling pick ups "pups". It sounds ugly and stupid. You don't sound like you have more familiarity than the average person does with a pick up. You just come across as someone who calls his mate Gary "Gazza" and his friend Wayne "Wazza". Oh and Chocolate is "Choccy". Come on. Do better. 4. 99% of all top end basses for sale in Mainland Europe. Natural finish? Oh yes. Wood. Wood and more wood in your face. More wood than Sherwood forest. It's ok to deploy paint over the top. I will trust that which lies beneath is not an Ikea Billy Bookcase. Which leads me on to: 5. Wood Pickups. I'm all for innovation. Pushing the envelope. Rah-Rah-Rah and all. But no. My bass is made of predominately wood. I don't need these visual reminders. and most controversial of all 6. Fret Dots I had been playing for 35 years when I suddenly had a moment of epiphany. All the instruments I have been drooling over for all this time have either a clean fretless neck, or inlays. Wow. Like Rod Stewart suddenly realising yesterday that he likes blonde haired women. Why did it take so long for the penny to drop? I think it stems from I don't like being told what to do and fret dots say "hey put your fingers here!" Screw you. I will put my fingers where I want. I feel better now. Try it.

Hahahhahaha.

I can imagine. You would have to have a soul made of Custard not to feel something playing with Page and Jones.

For me the best singer in that band
-
Got one made to my spec by Mark. Absolutely love it. So much so moved out other instruments that cost 4 times the price. A straight, honest and fair guy to deal with. Which counts for a lot these days.

If anyone desires to put new knobs on it they can of course but when I spoke to Paul about this in December he said there were currently problems with availability. So if anyone wants to go down that route then they would have to wait a little while for them to be delivered. I can't image the price of a few knobs is going to be significant somehow. In terms of the pricing of Wal's in general, don't worry I'm well aware that people are selling them for what I think is crazy money. Or at least trying to sell them for crazy money. That's why this one isn't crazy money. I'm selling it for what I think it's worth. I'm not selling it for where other people think the market is currently at.

DR Neon strings: can one buy singles? especifically a B string.
Jason Karloff replied to mcnach's topic in General Discussion
Yer i haven't taken the plunge with trying them. Always in the back of mind wasn't sure if it was a bit gimmicky or not -
Don't let this happen to you...clean your strings!

I would be delighted to be as far away as possible from the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene 🤔 Welcome mate. -

Aww a modern reference? Err. Ted Lasso? He didn't invent the lasso right? And Mr Bolas invented the Bolas in South America? 🤔😝 -

I take it you rate them as strings?
