1. I put stripes on my brothers one too. Are the block inlays stickers? Also where are your stripes from? I got mine here http://afdecals.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=115
2. I'd like to refinish a partscaster and come up with something like this The colour is teal green metallic. I'd like to find the paint in satin or nitro form. Does anyone have a source for suppliers in the UK or will my local dulux/crown stores be likely to match it? I'm completely inexperienced as you can perhaps tell but I'd like to give it a good go. Thanks!
3. Thanks to Andy for being patient in arranging for me to pick up a guitar stand off him (I think it took a month but we got there!) Nice price, nice bloke, nice to do business with
4. Nice price, i used to own a BMM CIJ Jaguar. It had a Q serial, during that period Fender released loads of nice, rare custom colours
5. Price or Trade Value: £15 Posted The previous owner of my bass had this custom made to the same spec as his Highway 1 Pickguard. I believe it will fit any USA Jazz bass. I will measure the screw hole distances if any one wants. It seems very high quality to me.
6. I have had this 2007 Highway One Jazz Bass for nearly a month now. I've been playing guitar for 10 years up until now. As with the HW1 series, the finish is really thin and smooth, allowing a quick and natural road worn look (you can see where the previous owners thumb rested on the body). The bass came with a few pickguards, one custom made mirrored, one original with Peter Hook signature and the current aftermarket tort pickguard. The seller mentioned it has seen atleast 250 or so gigs and was previously owned by Carey Willetts of Athlete (who reputedly bought a bulk load for a tour?). One of the first things I wanted to do was add an ashtray bridge cover, however, these do not fit over the stock Badass II bridge, I bought a late 80's Japanese Fender bridge with threaded saddles (5 hole) that slotted in perfectly and honestly, I can't tell the difference. The bridge cover arrived today and because of the satin finish, I had no trouble screwing it straight in, without wrecking the lacquer or wood. I'm very happy with it, being my first proper bass and it compliments my Highway 1 Stratocaster nicely too! I'm hoping along the line it will pick up lots of retro vibe and ultimately, mojo! 7. Upgrade? I've just realised I've followed the path of 'downgrading' my guitars! HW1 Stratocaster - I replaced the stock bridge with a gold mexican one and swapped out the original pickguard for an aftermarket. HW1 Jazz Bass - I replaced the badass II bridge with a £10 CIJ bridge. Although it seems I have put worse hardware on these instruments, I am happy with them aesthetically and don't feel like they play any worse
8. ^ I was just about to ask if he would do anodized. Let me know if he does. In my experience, people often like to take big orders on anodized pickguards because they have to go to the local supplier to get it cut and anodized.
9. Yeah the lining came off on mine too, I secured it back on with Uhu glue. You could make a pedal board, I bet there are plenty of guides and you can make it to your own spec and style at half the price.
10. Bargain of the century!
11. When I bought my jazz bass, it came with a pickguard signed by Peter Hook. I was wondering if anyone else has a signed guitar or pickguards and do they have much value to them or is it mostly sentimental?
12. Hey. I have that exact one and well, you get what you pay for. It isn't very rigid or strong and the locks are fiddly but it gets the job done.
13. Noticed this in Derby http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FENDER-PRECISION-ELECTRIC-BASS-GUITAR-/281087056199?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item4172181947 I don't know where its made, you'd have to mail him for the serial I guess
14. I 2nd the Highway 1 models. I've got a HW1 Strat and Jazz. They are American but given a paint finish in Mexico (the road adjoining is called highway 1). They're discontinued now but you can pick them up for under £500. Really well made instruments with greasebucket circuits, nice colour options and a nice thin finish that wears down beautifully
15. Congratulations with the sale! I had a good chuckle reading through this thread. FLOWER POWER!
