  1. Just stick a 'Blend' label on that knob. 😁
  2. It's my second one. Stupid to have sold the first one seeing as I didn't particularly need the money, I was just trying something else at the time. This time, if I do ever decide to stop using it for any reason, I'll just put it in a drawer somewhere ready for when I see sense and decide to use it again! 😁
  3. My latest setup. Wee Lush FX ABC pedal allows me to keep all 3 basses that I use live plugged in and switch between them for a faster change over. The VT Bass, Leeds and "Phthonus" (Tri-Logic Bass Preamp clone kit) are each then effectively presets for each of the 3 basses.
  4. And another one - kit built clone of an EWS Tri-Logic Bass Preamp 2 that I bought off the marketplace last year. This time a bit of a Greek theme.
  5. Gold anodised aluminium and 'Tiger Pearl' guards - both of which I cut myself.
  6. Thanks, I'm really pleased with it. It's actually the first time I've tried playing with a ramp but it feels great. I tend to play over the back pickup a lot on this bass for the feel of it but prefer the sound plucking between the pickups so it makes sense.
  7. As my job was furloughed a couple of weeks ago I've been keeping myself busy with a couple of little projects and thought I'd share them. So far I've done some custom artwork on a pedal (which I've already shared in the effects section), re-purposed a combo that I picked up for £20 as a 1x10 cab for home practice use by removing the amp and building a new front panel and today I made a ramp for my Ibanez SRMS805. Pictures below but has anybody else been tinkering to keep themselves busy?
  8. Like a lot of people my job has been furloughed leaving me with more time on my hands. Obviously I could be using the time to get better at playing but that would be far too sensible. Instead I decided that the hideous pink of my cheap Joyo British Sound pedal was the perfect excuse to get creative with a bit of a horror vibe.
  9. I had one and its one of 3 basses I wish I'd never sold. Sat in the mix beautifully with a full low end that supported everything really nicely but still cut through with loads of clarity in the mids and highs. The neck felt lovely too - really nice satin finish on the back.
  10. I built that myself. 🙂
  11. You're not the first person to make that mistake. 😜 To be honest, the 100w Marshall and 4x12 is more than enough anyway.
  12. Looks great doesn't it. I have the mini 15 to go with it so looking forward to the opportunity to set it all up. Probably overkill for my kitchen though. Bigger gigs I'll probably run it alongside my ABM500 and 610 as I've done before with my little Five 15 head.
  13. Well it arrived today just after lunch. Only been able to have a five minute play with it so far but it sounds amazing! Pleasantly surprised by how loud it is too - through just my little Mini 48 cab my wife was shouting at me before I managed to get it to break up with my precision. I think, with a bit of PA support, there's a good chance it'll be plenty loud enough for onstage at most of the smaller venues we play at. Couldn't be happier!
  14. Sounds awesome! I'm definitely looking for some nice valve grind and bite (I usually run either a Tech21 VT Bass or Leeds into my ABM500) so looking forward to seeing what kind of sounds I can get out of this. This will now be my day tomorrow:-
  15. Small block 427 (1 available) or BTA400 (4 available) just £1199!!! 😮😮😮 Mrs Painy would probably divorce me though - and knowing my luck take the sodding amp as part of the settlement! 😔 At least I already have a little CTM30 on its way to me now as consolation.
  16. In that case you also got a bargain. I should get mine on Friday. Let us know how you get on with yours tomorrow - help build the anticipation for me! 😁
  17. Nice! That the one that's been on ebay?
  18. As my job has been furloughed until the end of May but I also received a small bonus today, I have purchased a little something to keep myself entertained with. A bargain at £250 from Facebook marketplace but sadly not local enough to collect whilst out shopping so here's hoping it survives DPD bringing it to me.
  19. I'm a Quality Assurance Consultant working for the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
  20. We use yamaha DBR12 active speakers for stage monitoring. Those little 100w powered wedges have never cut it in our experience. I think there's a bit of a gap in the market between them and a full pro setup with dedicated monitor mixer etc. The yamahas have all the power and clarity you could possibly want as they're actually designed for use as FOH speakers rather than monitors. We're lucky though to have our own FOH sound engineer who also looks after the monitors so the lack of controls (other than volume) at the stage end isn't so much of an issue for us.
