So is this literally just a gig?
-
This is a popular subject for BC threads and crops up quite a lot. There is lots of opinion and everyone seems to do something slightly differently... If anyone knows of a single person who has had their gear nicked/damaged at a gig/rehearsal and successfully managed to make a claim I would sign up to which ever company they were insured with today. There seem to be so many exclusions and variables in the available specialist poiicies that I just have my gear listed on my contents insurance for "out of house use" and hope for the best.

Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'

There seem to be a few more up... another progressive fiver and a natural fretless acoustic. *edit - ignore me they seem to all be sold out. -
I don't think the younger generations know what "Rock" is , no matter how you define it. You'll never convince me they do.
I think they know what it is... they just have no interest in it.
Whats the different between Legend 6 and Q6? I'm talking about the made in Korea models. I know the Q6 is not discontinue right?
I don't know I'm afraid, someone more knowledgable them me will though and I'm sure they will be along shortly I think my legend was made in Indonesia... I'll have to investigate. It was a quality instrument but I beleive the Q6 is a model or two up from the legend.

This last year I have taken up guitar as well as bass (I'm crap at holding a pick too, although I have now fashioned a passable technique). I have always dabbled but I finally got a decent amp and proper guitar around six months ago. Bass is and will always be my first love BUT I was finding it increasingly difficult to find original projects where I had control of my bass parts. I only want to be a part of bands where I can choose what I play and when. In the end I decided to take up guitar, write a bunch of my own songs and put a band together myself so i had more of an input creatively. This has kind of spiraled now in that I'm the main songwriter in two bands I'm now heading up, both on guitar (one hardcore metal and one ambient rocky stuff). Out of the blue I have recently also found the ideal bass gig for me, an original blues rock band where I am in total control of my bass parts... so it's all good at the moment

Good score. I had a spector legend sixer for a while as my main bass and it was an excellent instrument. Enjoy
You mean you're... 'on the other bus'?? PM sent.
I did think that sounded a little suspect when I wrote it
Cough, what about the Harley Benton then......?
The HB is intended for a friend of Mrs Cs who currently finds himself bassless... I would be happy to keep it though, it's really quite good -

I've gone the other way... I've gone from a collection of 6 or 7 down to two... one fretted and one fretless. I've also ditched the pedals in favour of bass-cable-amp and I'm intending on cutting my rig down to a single cab. I'm on a mission to streamline my gear down to the best quality I can afford and the least superfluous crap as possible... I've even gone to a clip on tuner. -
A really nice tele is top of my list but a nice Gretsch of some kind is a close second. Or maybe a tele with a filtertron?
That's proper grade A GAS that is... I know I want something but I'm not sure what it is yet...

Has this been done? I currently have raging GAS for both this Mockingbird And this Les Paul.
is it just me or is the Bass control 3rd along and the Treble furthest away? Do we know if it will run in passive mode without battery power?
I was struggling a bit to work out which control did what... I'll investigate further tonight. I think it was (if you are looking at the bass) L to R Treble Bass Blend Volume Although the treble didn't appear to do a whole lot,but then again the strings are pretty dead. -
If it's a quilted finish shouldn't it be soft and fluffy? Mine was the same, no damage really apart from Bloody big "D" on the heel of the neck and body
They do feel solid don't they... Mine is in need of a setup but that's about it -
Camden Rob: Happy New Guitar Day, even if it's for someone else. Yours is the first quilted progressive bass that I've seen someone buy. It looks better in your photo that shows it off than the photos on the Thomann site.
I only bought it because your programme flagged it up! It's a lovely finish... As with the pj4 I got a couple of weeks back its a bass I would have been happy with for twice the full price let alone the deko cost. -
Bloody hell! That's rather nice!
It looks pretty good and feels very solid, not cheap at all. The pics don't really show it but the black finish is translucent and shows through a red hue maple top beneath. I've bought it to give to one of Mrs C's friends so I'm glad its a goodun -

I have have retrieved mine from a very confused elderly Greek lady down the street and I can honestly say I have absolutely no idea what made this a deko... The D stamps are it's only visible flaw... Sounds pretty good with everything set flat, the controls don;t appear to do a lot though so maybe that's what made it a deko... I'll also see how long the battery lasts. all in all... £18 well spent -
Failing that you could go for a nice custom ACG?
-
Mike Lull basses are very popular here, They do a lovely P... I've not had the pleasure of playing one but I understand they are very well put together and nice and light.
-
There looks to be a glaring P bass shaped hole in your current collection...
Leave a message on the door (if you can) asking for your package not to be delivered to a neighbour.
I have tried that... I've also tried emailing the courier in advance... no-one involved (courier or neighbours) really speak good enough english to get the message accrosss
Right it has arrived. Needless to say I had to go out but left a message on the door asking for it to be delivered to a neighbour which they did. (I know this is not London). Bass is absolutely fine, some tiny scratches on the back like ones you'd do yourself, action spot on out the box, just needed to tune it up a tone. Some decent sounds too, wonder if the battery will last? This is going to be a fretless project, will take the nylon flats off my StarBass and use them on this once it's defretted. Also give me chance to fit the new Elixirs I was given (thanks Basschat) to the StarBass and then review them.
Did you go for the same one I did? the fourstring solid body? heres to hoping mines as good as yours if you did
