I use an MB200 / EA wizzy 10 for those kinds of gigs and it has volume to spare. Although if I was buying again I'd maybe be looking at the crazy8 cabs as they seem fairly highly rated and they are tiny.
rig a bit of an overkill and maybe a bit of a show off
You're using a Thumb NT 6 and you're worried about people thinking your rig makes you look like a show off? I play a sixer too and most people assume your a show off the second you open the gigbag!.. well most musicians that is.. most people in the audience couldn't tell the difference between your bass and a banjo....

I have decided to go to a 210 setup... I really need to be able to easily manage my entire set up on public transport and these two on a trolly are just a little too big. They are easily light enough it's just the box dimensions make manoeuvering them around a bus a little tricky These are the best 12" cabs I have tried A lovely punchy deep tone and the tweeters add a nice top end zing if that's your thing (they have a control to dial it out if that isn't your thing). For a tone reference, they are not quite as modern sounding as bergs but it's that sort of ball park. 8ohm 300 watt Celestion BN12-300S neo drivers. i will post dimensions, exact weight and better photos tonight, but here is a pic of them amongst some other gear.... (i can't beleive this is the best pic I have available of them... sure I must have taken some more at some point) Each comes with a neoprene slip cover and if needed I can also bung in one of OBBMs finest 2m (or they might be 1.5m... I'll check tonight) speakon to speakon cables with each cab. Both cabs are in top condition with no scuffs or dings. Looking for £275 each but they will unfortunately have to be collection only as I've nothing to ship them in, Camden NW1. Would rather sell together but can split if there is no interest in the pair. Paypal ideally but cash on collection if needs be £275 each or I'll trade the pair for a Glockenklang Duo Light 8ohm or EA NL210 MK3, must be top condition and preferably with a cover. I am only interested in these two cabs, please don't offer any others

Will there still be a bass player in the band? Three guitars sounds like a lot going on in the same sonic space to me...

Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'
Yep, i see your problem. I hope you have nice neighbours then
Well I have so far managed to find all the bass gear that has been delivered to various people who live nearby... I wish they would just take it back to the depot though so I can pick it up myself. It's really a bit of a nusicence trying to find out where they've delivered things... I don't know why people sign for stuff? I would never sign for a package for someone I've never met.... -
Can't you sent your packages to your work? I allways recieve mine here because there's nobody at home but i'm lucky to have this possibility.
Not really an option unfortunately... I work on building sites and anything left at the security gate will get nicked straight away... plus man handling it back home on a rush hour tube would be a bit of a mission! -

My latest Deko is out for delivery although I'm at work so it'll be the usual "trying to find out which non english speaking random neighbour I've never met has signed for it" when I get back tonight -
AFAIK The Latitude Festival (which the winner gets to play at) has been and gone? Last weekend I think..
Lattitude was weekend before last... I went and didn't see anything about this? although I was very very drunk and only remember three things. 1) Savages were almost a great band 2) The bass player from the Vaccines was using a ric and it sounded quite good 3) The singer from the Vaccines twice refered to his band totally seriously as "The Magnificent vaccines"...
Yes there probably will. I can't provide any clarity on timing unfortunately.
Thanks for the update. I appreciated there is probably a hell of a lot of work involved to incorporate what seems to the technically uninitiated like simple suggestions.

There are two parts to it really... Rock definitely isn't cool anymore, the young regard it as old fashioned, verging on the comical even. However, there is an vast music audience outside of "the young" who tend to be less influenced by what's regarded as fashionable music and amongst the 50 plus age group (those who actually have the money to go to stadium gigs) rock is as strong as it was when they were in their 20s... So it's OK for a few years, but when those 50+ become 70+ and paying a fortune to sit in a tiny plastic seat in a freezing cold stadium isn't so appealing then the lack of interest from the younger generation will surely lead to rock fading into obscurity.

I use my full rig I just don't crank it, so 600 watt I also have a Wizzy 10 / MB200 set up in the spare room for when Mrs C is watching Glee and I'm not allowed to make noise in the living room...
The Demeter certainly is very clean and it really allows the sound of the individual bass to come through

I love the clean piano tone it has
The more people say things like this the more I want one
Noticed there was a Genz Benz Shuttle in the marketplace here so I've now bought it and look forward to try it. The way they were described 'clear, punchy, modern, hifi' is what I have in my mind (Whether or not it's actually want I need is a different story!) Cheers for the help folks and I'll report back after using it for a while
I reckon you'll love it... I had a shuittle for a while and thought it was a great amp.
From following his exploits for a few years he seems a fussy sort! Not a bad thing really!
Yes he's very picky... The whole thing about his basses is the look, he doesn't make anything in house, it's essentially instruments built from allparts bodies and necks and re finished by him with sympathetic fittings / pickups etc. It's a very high standard of finishing though! I'm glad he's back up and running again

Thinking about it I have never played a twin neck instrument of any kind... I have also never played a twelve string guitar or an 8 string bass (octave strings). ... I should get out more.

Hi Guys, Just a quick question. Are there any plans to add a "guitars for sale" section? I only ask from a purely selfish point of view as I've a couple of guitar bits up for sale and they get a bit lost in the "other musically related items for sale" section. Cheers Rob
Has it arrived yet? Just been looking on his Instagram feed and he's got some cracking looking basses on there!
It's just waiting for a scratchplate. Peter has gone through three different orders and he's not happy with the colour of any of them so I think he's now making one himself.
Rock and roll is virtually dead. Young people don't want it any more.
Yes I have to agree I'm afraid... I fear for the future of rock music with very few people under 40 have even a passing interest. It's not all bad though, other types of music will come and go, things change... it's always been this way.
