1. I once received a bass in a bin liner delivered by my hermes, which they left on my door step all day whilst I was at work iin full view of the main road into central London.... despite long odds to the contary, I arrived home and there it was, untouched and not a scratch on it.
2. That looks stunning... I have underlying P bass GAS and this isn't helping at all.
3. Lovely unique colour there... I do think these limelights represent good value.
4. Guess there must ba a demand to sustain them all... It seems there is also an insatiable appetite for dad rock pub covers.... the UK must have thousands of such bands.
5. No shortage of quality Wals available recently on BC... This one looks like another beauty.
6. I had a ditto and changed to the RC-1 as I wanted to be able to run my looper on batteries. Can't say I've noticed a difference in sound quality and the operation is identical. I did have to take two dittos back as they developed a fault with the foot switch but that's probably a moot point, just got a couple of bad units.
7. I don't really have much choice of haircut these days
8. Blimey you could have twenty of those foderas that look like a toilet seat for that much...
9. Good news for sellers in the BC marketplace... not so good news for those who suffer from GAS
10. What a lovely example My new one arrives next month, hopefully I can hang on to it for 30 years as well.
11.

What a cool pic...
12.
Get your Mr drums to tune his kit properly the day before. That can save a bit of time and frustration if it has to be done in the session.
That's not in the spirit of things at all, that's far too sensible... Everyong knows the pattern of a five day recording session is 3 days of setting up drums, a day and a half of guitar overdubs then vocals, bass and everything else in the last couple of hours.
13.
Now that people have mentioned the bridge not being bang on centre of the through neck, I had a closer look at my Harley Benton 7 string. Its bridge isn't bang on either. On the treble side, the bridge extends to the outside of the outermost nato strip, but on the bass side, it only reaches maybe 1/3 across the matching narrow nato strip. I never even noticed this before, but have to say that I'm not that worried.
If you've never noticed it chances are no-one else has I would much rather they mounted the bridge slightly off centre than mounted it in the centre and it ending up out of alignment with the neck...
14.
Martin at The Gallery is your man for central.
I've used him before for bass but didn't know if he did guitars as well? The Gallery is five minutes from my house so that's by far the easiest option if he does.
15. Anyone got any recomendations for someone to do pickup replacements etc? Preferably somewhere as central as possible.
16. My current bass.... I only have one at the moment
17. I love the idea of playing the cello and had a look at buying one a few months back. After a bit of research and a look around, it started to look like getting something playable was going to be prohibitively expensive considering I've never played a note on one before... We're lucky as bassists being able to pick up a perfectly serviceable instrument for a couple of hundred quid!
18.
Don't put more effort into photographing the event than the event itself!
I'm going to get this printed on a tee shirt... So much of so many peoples lives are based around taking photos of stuff they are doing to put on facebook to show to people who don't care...
19. I've got one of these passive fender ones I havent used for ages... Last time I tried it it was a little crackly but it probably just needs the contacts cleaning or something. I've no use for it and no intention of going back to lugging a pedalboard around so you can have it if you want? PM me your address and I'll pop in in the post.
20.
But I really play one because I once read that Noel Gallagher doesn't like them.
Do you know if it's anything above a four string that he doesnt like or specifically five strings? I play a six string but if this is true I'm going back to fives...
21. Bass, Beer, Porn... job done
22.
I play the Olympic White / Maple, Am. Std. Jazz the most. Followed by the Am. Std, Fretless Jazz. Once a week the Adam Clayton Jazz.
Every time I look at your sig your basses have changed!
23.
Despite being set up by his suggested luthier, he believes the notes on both to be inconsistent, personally I cannot hear it and neither can the luthier. On the basis the tutor has got me through 4 bass grades without issue, I cannot be bothered to argue. He is also keen that I do not swap between basses.
Yeah fair enough, no point in arguing about it
24. I'm not even sure what a tone block is, let alone what it does
25.
The main reason to get a 5 string is so that you have more notes available without shifting position, not for the extra five notes. For example if you're playing the D on the 10th fret of the E string then you have easy access to two different fifths: a higher one at the 12th fret on the A string or a lower one at the 10th fret on the B string. Having both these notes available in a single position means you have a lot more possibilities. Personally, I don't need that extra flexibility so I stick with four strings. Other people feel differently. There's no right or wrong, really. Lots of people get very heated about this but its just down to personal preference and need.
Just about sums it up really.
