1.
That's what I'm getting! And according to the tracker, it's being delivered today -- so excited I can barely sit still
The same one in the same colour? It looks lovely... They seem very good value from Mark's review, looks like a versatile tone circuit too.
 2.
Hobbayne - yes it is what you think it is! Just that I noticed you're not allowed to even mention the word Ri.......r
oh christ it's one of those... Whatever you do don't start a thread about why your selling it...
 3. Gumtree isn't a bad shout... Depends on the value of the bass you are selling. You'd stand as much chance of selling a bass on gumtree as here if it's a lower value or popular style insturment. If it's a fodera etc or anything niche you'll stand a better chance of shifting it here.
 4. Good stuff Sir Sausage... a well deserved triumph
 5. Don't know how I missed this... What a great looking bass. Epic review as well as always.
 6. I had an audition with a preposterously loud band yesterday and I was the only one wearing ear plugs as usual... have done since I first started in bands when I was 13.
 7. Hi Chris. Have you thought about trying an external preamp, compressor etc to improve the slap sound of the peavy? You could pick something up used and if it didn't work out can always move it on at a negligible loss.... bit less extreme than cut and carving a bass you already like. Oh and just as a heads up...
...and I like to sometimes play slap bass.
Don't say that round these parts or you'll get lynched
 8. Think my folks are going to this at the O2... Looks like a good shout to me, love a bit of Paul Simon.
 9. Wow... what a lovely example. As Kev says above, an excellent opportunity to grab a brand new Wal without the two year wait.
 10. Just out of interest... How much is your 6x15 cab going to weigh?
 11. I put a 'Bassist available' advert up on gumtree a week or so back as one of my projects had recently ended and I fancied something new. I've had 30 odd replies so far and I was pretty specific in what I wanted (no covers, nothing with basslines already written, not looking to be the next rock superstar etc.) about five of those were interesting and I have an audition tonight for one of them. Its never been easier in London to hook up with people and play original music. No idea about working covers bands though, not really my area.
 12.
That's cos it's in Chalk Farm
Ah that would be why then... Different world up there.
 13.
Todays starter basses are so much better...
That's the truth right there... We really are lucky as electric bass players, a perfectly serviceable instrument costs us a couple of hundred quid.
 14. I've lived in Camden for years and never heard of the enterprise...
 15. Dad your a hero... There is more time and effort gone into your reviews than any of us put in to the actual compositions...
 16. Sounds about right... I think string spacing would be the biggest issue for me, anything tighter than 18 is a bit of a struggle.
 17. The full size versions of these really do look like good value... The only reson I haven't bought one is I can't decide between the surf green and the sky blue.
 18.
Not sure I'd want to run a looper on a battery in a gig situation. I suspect they rinse battery power, and having a digital looping pedal slowly lose juice through a performance would suck lol Si
Yes thats true... I only use mine at home and neither the missus nor the cat mind waiting for me to change a battery mid tune.
 19.
Interested in purchasing CamdenRob?
Not for me at the moment, I'm happy with my Wal. Just thought I'd bump a nice looking bass
 20.
Big manufacturers don't really have much interest for me...
I've little interest in them either, I just think the presence of some of the bigger names might make the whole event feel a bit less like a village fète...
 21.
It is indeed for use with my contra'. I think the ditto will be ordered presently, although I do wish it would run from a battery.
I recently got a boss RC-1 to replace my ditto for exactly this reason... does the same thing only runs on batteries.
 22.
I got to play a mandocello for the first time a few weeks back and it was great fun - now looking to get one. If you've not tried one I'd really recommend having a play on one. If you're looking for a different challenge then this might be it?
Now they do look interesting... although I do fancy a regular cello. I suspect that my looking for a new instrument may simply be because my bass gear GAS has gone off the boil so my inner GAS demon is trying to tempt me elsewhere... Anyway enough about me and my hypothetical future cello playing. This is a thread about sonicaddictions woodwind interest and I appear to have hijacked it, so I shall withdraw...
 23.
Bare in mind as you look that the double bass is strung the same as your bass. The cello is strung differently so there are potential brain freeze moments.
Yes indeed... it's tuned in 5ths, although to be honest, with bowing and everything I'm going to be learning a totally new technique anyway so I'm hopefully my mind will alow me to associate the new tuning with the new instrument without too much trouble. I think it's a bit of a whim anyway, I'll give it a while and see if I still feel I'd like to give it a go in a few months before taking the plunge.
