1.
There is more to bass than the Fenders, surely..?
Get back in line you.. we'll have none of this revolutionary talk...
 2.
Fair enough. To me they just look like another J-Bass with an inelegant 4+1 headstock. Why don't they go for the more compact 3+2 arrangement?
Probably to stay as close to the fender design as possible.... which I guess is your point
 3.
Do we really need any more J-bass copies?
Not personally no... but I do think they look nice.
 4.
Oh my dear god. Time to sell some stuff, I think. I have got to have one of these.
Yes that's my favourite too.
 5. I'm far from a Pro level player but I doubt anyone else would enjoy playing my basses the way I have them set up... I seem to see everyone talking about getting their action as low as possible. As soon as I get a bass I find I have to crank the strings up a good few mm just to make it playable! dunno if everyone else likes fret clank in their sound or whatever but I reckon anyone else would find the high action on my basses unplayable.
 6. I have never got on with single cuts... they are up there with gold hardware and PJ pickups as crimes against bass aesthetics. The only one I've ever considered was a Brubaker that came up on bassdirect a while back. Looked a bit like this;
 7. Wonderful basses these... I think they've stayed off everyone's radar for some reason. As you say, used they are one of the best buys around. I had one as my main bass for the last year or so and to me it played and felt much higher quality that it's price tag. I only moved it on to go down a different path tone wise. I'm fully confident that the one I had would have served me proud for the rest of my bass playing days had GAS not intervened. Top basses.
 8.
It's all relative really. The heaviest "light" cab is still a light cab, and the lightest "heavy" cab is still a heavy cab... Having used (and owned) a number of Barefaced cabs, their lightness always amazes me. They all have slightly different tones (although some people say that they don't like the "Barefaced tone"!) but of course, their tones are not for everyone and every situation. I like them, but I don't get offended when people say that they don't! In the last couple of years, the range of "very light" cabs has increased - with representatives from manufacturers such as Vanderkley, Purple Chili, TKS, Bergantino, Markbass, Gallien-Krueger, Genz-Benz (and others I have no doubt forgotten!) as well as Barefaced. All offer different solutions to the various problems of weight, tone, volume, style, finish and build quality, etc. It is a very interesting section of the market and if you have a budget of over £500 (per cab) then you really have a lot to choose between! I find myself rather envious!

Great post
Yes to be honest that pretty much sums it up....
 9.
Hmmmm. Did I say that? It's a factor. Don't go getting all upset if I don't agree with you.
ha... don't worry I'm not weeping into my lunch... The thing is, it's a trade off obviously with weight, tone, cost etc. Weight and cost are objective and easy to quantify which cab is better in each respect however tone being subjective is down to personal preference. IMO Vanderklays may be heavier than barefaced but I feel the tone is far superior and therefor the extra weight is justified.
 10. To be honest if weight is your primary concern at the expense of everything else then you probably are better off with a barefaced.
 11. These look good for less than £550 new (+ shipping, import taxes etc) http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2014/11/07/bassmods-introduces-k534-bass/ Pretty wide range of pickup / preamp options... Nordys, Barts etc.
 12.
I'll give you £5 for it.
I'll see your £5 and raise it £5...
 13. I think you might be surprised how much you'll get for it as it says Fender on the end... Can see alot of people wanting to bolt it on to their squiers.
 14. I can't possibly justify one of these as I'm in the middle of a gear cull, but seriously... anyone in the market for a versatile four string bass, this is too good an opportunity to miss out on.
 15. What a lovely looking bass... I was very tempted by this when it was up a couple of months back.
 16.
The great bean mystery? The beans you can see are an iPhone skin lol
Well done that man... another BC mystery solved.
 17.
Gorgeous. GLWTS

Ahh the tone,,, I've had one of these before, definitely one I shouldn't have sold, Rob is a top guy & that thumb sixer is a top bass ,,, Glwts,,
Thanks gents
Would love this
So would I... needs must though and I'm not bitter, had to make sacrifices for the Wal.
Are you sure, you don´t want to ship to Germany?
I could ship, although I'll give it another week to see if there is any other local interest first
 18. In response to a couple of PMs, I've had a quick measure up of the neck and it's 42mm wide at the nut and 58mm wide at the middle of the Twelth fret. The depth is difficult to measure accurately, but using a steel tape and judging it by eye it looks like 20mm deep at the middle of the First fret and 25mm deep at the middle of the Twelth fret.
 19. That is a ridiculous deal... Are these the regular tributes? I had one of these albeit with a rosewood neck, a new one for less than £300 is an awesome deal.
 20. IME the barefaced cabs are more suited to a full old school sound, many pair them with a streamliner for P bass through an SVT like tone. They are great if you are looking for that kind of sound but they are not the last word in lightweight cabs. If your looking for a light cab that delivers a punchy, deep and clear tone I'd maybe look at GK neo cabs? it depends on your budget obviously? There are even better options at the very top end.
 21.
Planet Waves Mini-Headstock Tuner...
Are they any good? I've been using a fender one in my neverending quest to carry around less gear, but it's not great on low B.
 22. I can include a tin of beans for any interested parties if needed.
