1.
Yeah, I do quite like it actually. Just wish Fender would do a standard/non-signature model.
I think you and I are looking for the same thing...
 2.
Only the TWO Wal Mk3 six-stringers incoming?? Are you thinking of giving up the bass or something?
Well the intention is to move the first one on when the second one arrives in a year or so... best laid plans and all that. Parcelforce have it out on the truck for delivery today but there is no-one at home to sign for it...
 3.
Mind, when you see a used bass on here at £29 cheaper than a new one, then add on the £15 courier, so it's £14 cheaper than a new one with free delivery and full warranty
This seems to be popular with USA Jazz Deluxes....
 4.
Not a custom shop I know but how about a Steve Bailey sig?
I had no idea these existed..
 5.
huh? Taking your bass on the tube is easy, I go to rehearsals and gigs with my bass and all the pedals and cables I need using whatever public transport is best. I've not had a car in London for years, don't need it. Of course it's a different story with an amp, but how many of those are needed?
I take the MB200 / Wizzy 10 set up on the tube all the time...
And certainly in the topsy turvy world of public transport, having a good solid piece of Fender in your hands is quite often useful
Talking of Fender and public transport, this is one of the current 390 route bus fleet; I'm not fussed where in London a potential bash would be as long as I can get there on the tube
 6.
Yeah, and call me shallow, but I really want Fender on the headstock. A 34-inch scale, US Standard passive 6-string Fender Jazz Bass is exactly what I'd like
I reckon Fender must have looked into doing a proper sixer and decided it's not worthwhile... I'd imagine that six strings are a very small percentage of the bass market. Personally I think a six-string jazz deluxe would be a reasonable seller.
 7.
...I'd love a 6-string US Standard Fender Jazz Bass.
Something along these lines would have me interested...
 8. I like the marketplace the way it is, but I guess that's just cause it's served me well. Over the last 18 months in the BC marketplace I have bought Four basses and sold Three (shortly to be listing some more) and several amps & cabs... all of which without any hassle whatsoever.
 9.
Central London would probably be a nightmare for access, parking and cost. Greater London might be feasible, but once again it might not suit everybody. For instance, finding a pub with a large function room and without excessive noise restrictions during the day (e.g. the George IV in Chiswick) might work, but those who would have to drive or - God forbid - tube it from the other end of town might prefer to give it a miss.
Fair enough, that all makes sense... I did think it must have been mooted before. Guess it's just me being lazy and I should find a way to come to the Herts or SE bashes!
 10. Anyone previously looked into doing a bash in Central London somewhere? I'm guessing the cost of a venue would be prohibitive... as would parking etc., or does everyone feel the area is pretty well served already by the SE / Herts bashes? I'd really like to come along to one of these, they look great fun, but whenever I look at getting there they are always hours away on public transport and the nearest station is nowhere near the venue...
 11. It depends how much you want it to say Fender on the headstock....
 12. Beautiful.
 13. There is a small roland one that seems to get reasonable press... it's name escapes me... The thing is - I doubt lightweight, small and long battery life are going to be your problem. A battery powered amp that makes your bass actually sound like a bass is going to be the problem. All the small battery combos are going to produce a nasty honky clank.
 14. I did consider upgrading mine as I loved the playability, but decided against it in the end as I thought the tonepump Jr was a decent enough preamp anyway. I just used to have the bass up full and a slight roll off of the treble. I've not much experience of the higher end spectors - but if the legend I had was anything to go by I'd imagin they're pretty spectacular. What colour is yours? I had the slate grey one.
 15. I was pretty happy with the stock pickups in my legend... Good basses though aren't they, the fit and finish on mine was flawless.
 16. It'd be a shame to see it go and be replaced with the usual homogeneous London high street of; Starbucks - Ladbrokes - Starbucks - William Hill - Starbucks - Corals - Starbucks - Paddy Power - Starbucks At least there are plenty of places I can go and drink over priced coffee and sit in the window writing a blog about the perils of consumer capatilism on my £2k macbook...
 17. I saw one of these on backline duty for death metal night at the pub over the road on Friday night. I have to say it made the bass audible, which in death metal is no mean feat.
 18.
why what are you after... fancy that overwater 5 string?
What the natural one with the John East, the maple neck and the 35" scale that has everything I would want from a super jazz?... can't say I'd noticed
 19. I've really got to stop looking at the marketplace......
 20.
PMSL You can't make a comment like that without a reference! http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
This is by far my favourite bass related image... the man is a living legend.
 21. My PC cabs were built to order and delivered in three weeks. Magnificent handles too...
 22. As it's in cash converters there is a fair chance someone nicked it... which at that weight is no mean feat.
 23.
Here you are, fresh from my Inbox.... http://www.fender.co...ass-MainFeature
"...lollipop-style tuning machines. Clayton used them to replace the clover-leaf tuners reminiscent of that era for a more adventurous vintage look." Whooa there! living dangerously....
