1. But I'm impatient... I want to know if I need to put on my anti GAS trousers...
2. Well come on then out with it... is it any good?
3. Maybe the use it in the spraying process somehow?
4.
It essentially sounds something similar to a metal dustbin full of spanners rolling down a hill.
Think you must have something in the chain that's trying to emulate the sound of a ric...
5.
I always have the adjustable bit on the bottom of the bass too.
I'd feel really odd with it the other way round mind you, I use comfort straps and have my bass even higher than the guy in your photo, so I think I'd end up with the non padded bit on my shoulder if I was to have it the same way round he's got it.....
6. Doesn't look like a comfort... although I have been known to be wrong Do you guys wear yours that way round? with the adjustable bit up by the top horn? I've always had mine the other way round with the adjustable bit near the bottom strap pin... guess it doesn't make much difference really.
7. I don;t think you'll get the gig.. your not coming across as ethereal enough....
8.
I like the look of the resonator bass! One man's meat and so on....
Quite right... I like Wals and nobody likes the look of them!
9. kinda looks like a dustbin on a stick...
10. I know taste is subjective and all that but man that's ugly....
11. I've got comfort short straps on my basses at the moment, they seem to be the only quality strap I can get short enough.
12. I played one at last years London Bass Guitar Show, a fiver with the curly top horn. It was superbly made and sounded as good as a host of other active custom builds I've tried. Nothing lept out at me to differentiate it from similar builders instruments, but it was a good solid bass. I think they do a range with limited options that come in under a grand if I recall correctely... that sounds like pretty good value.
13. I usually try and avoid interacting with people... famous or otherwise.
14.
I can't think of many active bass players that have only 1. Most guitarists I know have at least 1 bass.
True... but I'd hazard a guess that at least 50% of basses bought are never used in anger and are just bought by people who want to dabble at being a rockstar.
15. The thing I find surprising here is that there are more people with 11+ basses than people with less than 3 basses.. I guess the statistics are skewed somewhat as we are a community of bass enthusiasts prone to collecting instruments... I would imagine that the vast majority of bass players the world over only have one instrument.
16.
I played one of these at a trade show a couple years ago and found it very comfortable but they are not stocked anywhere in the shops in the UK for some reason. And yes, they're expensive.
Yes I've been struggling to find a single one in stock in the UK... let alone a used one
17. Are there no single bass men out there? GAS free in their unibass world.....
18. *Stop Press* I thought this must have been done before. Same thread from before my time on BC. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/100416-yay-poll-time-how-many-basses-do-you-own/page__hl__many%20bass%20poll
19. My bad... I've changed the 5-10 to 6-10... kinda makes more sense.
20. Recently saw a poll on TB and couldn't find a similar thread here so thought I'd start one. I've never started a thread with a poll in it before so thougnt I'd try that out too. Its quite interesting to see the average number of basses owned, some of those guys on TB have 60 odd basses I'll get the ball rolling, I currently have three with two more incoming; Fender P Fender J Spector sixer Peterbuilt fretless (incoming) Wal sixer (incoming)
21. I had a pair of Genz neo 212s for a while and whilst they were excellent cabs the handles were prettly much useless... they were recessed into the sides at the top so they were intended for tilting it back to push it along on the wheels, but in practice the angles were all wrong.
22. Looks pretty good with the standard black one to me... lovely looking bass.
23. Sadly Jedward are in Dublin that weekend....
24.
It's 17mm. I live in Hungary... https://www.youtube....h?v=5ynGpsRtNHw
Thanks for that, do you have the original case for it?
25. Hi, Nice bass, what's the string spacing and where are you based please?
