1. I like this from the reviews... "First shipment came damaged" How could you tell?
2. I would imagine that far fewer kids are taking up any instrument these days as the vast majority of modern music isn't played on live instruments...
3. Hi guys, I'm after some more knowledge from the BC font.... I've seen a nice Status at a good price that I'm quite intrigued by... only thing is the action is described as 'very low'... now I don't like a low action, I find the strings clank and buzz when I dig in (poor technique probably but there we go) ordinarily I'd give the truss rod a tweak, but do status necks even have a truss rod? how would you adjust the action if it wasn't factory set how you liked it? I did have a stealth II several years ago before it got nicked, but I've completely forgotten if it had any degree of adjustability in the neck...
4.
Yes, and that from guitarists who themselves have failed!
indeed... in fact the number of failed guitarists out there playing bass badly probably contributes to the consensus that bass isn't really that important...
5.
If any band thought so little of my contribution that they were happy to play without me then I'd be off like a shot. It boils my piss that the bass - in my opinion a fundamental and essential element in so many different types of music - can be regarded as an optional extra by 'musicians' who think that what they do is so much more important.
I find it surprising just how prevalent this attitude is... I too would never be a part of something where my contribution was regarded as optional. I do think some of it stems from the widely held opinion that bass is for failed guitarists...
6. Oh great, now I've got GAS for one of these as well....
7. wow thats something a bit different...
8. This one?
9.
Yummy :-) just had a very quick detailed reply from Peter. About 1500 euro for a burgundy mist and maybe 1600 for a flower power plus shipping and case. You're right Rob, he gets his stuff from Allparts check out this body I'm interested in. http://www.allparts....ody_p_4777.html
Thats going to be a pretty unique bass!
10. I've never really thought about a telebass but looking at some of Peters I can feel some GAS coming on again...
11.
CamdenRob has one on order I think. He'd probably be able to help you.
I do indeed.. Just replied to a PM from Mr Fretbuzz with all the details, in short I'm very happy with how the build is progressing. Peter is great on the comms and sends regular updates. Mine is due in a couple of months and I can't wait
12.
Come to the Bass Bash in Addlestone on 1st November. You'll hear 30 rigs of every shape, size and volume.
All at the same time.....
13. After a thorough investigation of my balls last night I can confirm that they are multi coloured with a navy silk wrap.. Thanks guys, D'Addario Chromes it is then...
14. right that's it, too much Wal for one day..... I'm off for a lie down
15. Why did you have to go and resurrect this thread.... I'd almost got the image of this out of my head. it'd be fun trying to play that sitting down...
16.
The fellow has had a ton of personal problems beset him in the recent past, from which he is now, apparently, slowly recovering. Quite a few orders were affected by this. Those coals are rather cooled, now; no need to re-heat them.

Bravo Dad, well said.
Some of those coals have cooled... others haven't... I'm hopefull some day I will be able to tell you all about it without the threads getting locked.
17. Fair enough... looks like it's just me then
18.
Some signature basses offer a bass off the shelf that is less costly but uniquely suited to some players without having to have a custom build. In all for them :-)
Arrives a damn sight quicker than a custom build as well....
19.
The Marcus Miller and Geddy Lee sig Jazzes seem to be well regarded round these parts.
I'm sure they are fantastic instruments but for me the last thing I would want is a signature bass.... It's my bass and my sound, I want my playing and tone to sound like me... not an immation of someone else.
20. How much difference does a signature make? do more people actually buy them? I guess they must or fender wouldn't bother... For me thats a lovely bass ruined by a signature...
21.
Make sure that you do that in private lol
It's OK we are very open about these things... I'll get mrs C to verify and if we can't decide between us I'll get the neighbours round.
22.
Coloured rings at the other end? D'Addario Chromes Edit: as in this I mean
Wow that was quick.... thanks for that. I'll investigate the ball ends when I get home.
23. When I picked up my Jap P it was strung with flats that had navy silks on the ends, any ideas what they could be? rotos perhaps? I'd like to get a back up set as they feel really nice. They look similar in colour to these; although I havent got mine strung so the silks run down past the nut obviously
24. I'd never buy a signatue bass... but that is one nice looking jazz.
25. What a looker! bet she sounds fantastic?
