My M2000 tribute is lighter than my three J basses
My Wal is approximately the weight of three jazz basses...
Glockenklang Blue Soul by a mile. Only sold it because it is slightly wider than a barefaced One10 and overhanging amps look sh*t... Silly really but there we go...
I believe the Blue Soul is a few models out of date these days, so I expect the more recent incarnations in the glock class D range are even better.

Bin there. Dun that.
I was playing with a Spanish singer-songwriter, experienced musician, good guy. I was on DB and I was really, really struggling with my intonation.
It didn't matter how hard I concentrated, I was always off-pitch with his guitar.
We played our first gig together and it was the same problem throughout. As a newbie to DB I just assumed naturally it was down to my playing.
At the next rehearsal I played with a Korg Pitchblack permanently on so I KNEW I was playing the right notes, and I challenged him instead.
We checked our tuners. Mine was set to 440. His was set to 432.
He never came up with a convincing explanation for that ...

At least you noticed something was amiss...
I was more surprised at the suggestion someone had played an entire set like that and not noticed
When I'm out of tune (or someone else in the band) it's patently obvious from the first note...

Noodle bar has been slow.
I've been working on something its a noodle but I can't play it haha.
Anyhow I've recorded a noodle version of Elvis Costello's pump it up.
And just for a shits and giggles here is a link to the actual isolated track.
I like my modified version better lol.

Nice kicking us off for another month
Seems to be a bit of snootiness the other way creeping in here...
For some people playing Mustang Sally to dancing drunks is the be all and end all... others couldn't give a toss if there's Five people in the audience listing to their avant-garde experimental codpiece jazz...
Takes all sorts bass playing

How are the top markers on the neck, are they on the notes or center fret? No probs anyway now it's fretted but just curious.
The edge markers are centre of fret fortunately, It was lined fretless before, just looks like a normal fretted bass now
I considered getting blocks put in as well but thought I'd just get these bits done to start with.
Above all it is very very yellow... it was even brighter when I first got it but it's mellowed a little over the last couple of years.
Peter has a great eye for detail though, most of his stuff is old car colours.
I've had this Peterbuilt Jazz for a couple of years now (essentially an Allparts build with a custom finish). It started it's life fretless but I have a Wal fretless six due imminently so rather than have it collecting dust I thought I'd drop it into The Gallery for fretting and a J-Retro.
Very pleased with the results The J-Retro and the DiMarzio 123s seem a good match. Bass sounds as it did in passive mode but has loads of extra punch and sparkle available in active mode.
I've found some Jazz Pickguards under a box in the spare room we use for drying laundry... No idea where they came from but I don't need them.
Two Black, One White and One Mint. They all have Ten holes and one of the Black ones has an extra hole in the middle and two tiny holes either side of the pickup (presumably for a cover). Not sure what basses these fit but they look pretty standard to me.
Let me know if you want one (or all of them) and I'll drop it in the post. I'll wrap it in bubble wrap and pop it in an envelope... hopefully that will survive the rigours of Royal Mail...
