1. I used one to compose some tunes a while back when I first returned to bass playing, it was good fun building up layers. I don't have it on my board live though, I found it didn't really work in a band situation as the other guys didn't seem to understand that the loops must dictate the tempo of the whole song... I think the boss one (rc-3 or something?) has a way of adjusting the tempo of the recorded loops. I think you'd need that function for it to be of any use with a full band. Good little pedal though
2. I've seen many a player with considerably cheaper gear than me sound twice as good as I ever could....
3.
Very good! I can use the MB200 with just one BFM J12 for rehearsal. Plenty of beans and one very easy lift from car to rehearsal room. Stress-free, really. Edit: Crikey, you've got some very interesting basses incoming! I look forward to the NBD threads...
Yes they really are excellent little amps, like you I think the core tone is pretty good and I run it pretty much flat. ... Trouble with the custom builds is they take ages and I'm like an impatient toddler... Peterbuilt due first in a couple of months sadly still a year left for the Wal
4. I've one of these I use when the full rig isn't required.... It's getting an outing Thursday night along with the Wizzy 10, I can take the whole set up on the tube.
5. I'm going for Pino... not because I'm familiar with any of his work but because I haven't even heard of the other guy.....
6. The guy is clearly a notable craftsman creating a product that people want (dubious customer service aside). But all that god stuff on the website makes him look like a right nuttter... I'd be scared to give him my details
7.
...also potentially offer one in 70-100cm for those who like to pick their nose with their bass?
Nose picker here....
8.
I used to smoke "funny fags", and my improvisation and overall playing was at a much higher standard than it is now...
My playing was mostly unaffected during my 'funny fag' smoking years.... but my ability to eat jamie dodgers imporved markedly.
9.
That's a bit philosophical for a Thursday...
There is always room for a bit of philosophy... amongst the pie....
10. I mostly think about pie.....
11. It looks like something you'd float around in the pool on....
12. I always thought the widely accepted bass sound characteristics were; P Bass - Thump J Bass - Burp Rick - Clank Warwick - Growl With everything else basically being a variation of the above with differing amounts of twang, rumble and zing...
13. I've no intention whatsoever of buying this bass but I'm outraged at the halfhearted nature of the listing...
14. Bargain... I'll take two.
15. I had a squier P as my first bass that was such a horrible plank it still makes me shudder me to think about it.... Glad I got rid of that. I have sold some wonderful instruments, but ultimatly I've kept the ones that really work for me, so I've no marketplace regret really
16. All these people can't be wrong.... and they're not Pleasure to deal with, no fuss, no problems, easy as you like.
17. Sold on Gumtree... Please lock.
18.
Those two are the ones that immediately came to my head, if I mentioned anything else I would have thought too hard about it.
The two that popped into my head were; At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul and The Score - The Fugees loads of others to numerous to mention.....
19. Why are there a load of blokes standing around in this car park?...... I read an artical in the paper about this sort of thing , which one of you is Stan Collymore?
20.
I'm afraid to say it was deadly serious... Might have been a bit more entertaining had tongues been planted firmly in cheeks.
This actually makes me find it more amusing... rubbish bands that take themselves seriously are much funnier than those trying to be ironic.
21.
...bassplayer needed for band, age:44 heigh 5'9", glasses, beard, long hair, must like overdrive and Fender basses. Essential to have been born in Essex...
I bet we have a BCer somewhere that fulfills this exact criteria... I'm OK on the glasses, beard and Fender basses but I only grew up in Essex.. wasn't actually born there. Also I'm not old enough, follicly challenged, too tall and don't like overdirve... so I'm not even close really....
22.
Didn't Christopher Lee do a metal album a couple of years ago?
He did but I'm not sure it was entirly serious..... It was hilariously pants though.
23.
Word I've heard about Mark Butcher is that he's pretty good at it. Personally I think he made the right career choice... While I'm on the 'cricketers as musicians' theme, here's Curtly Ambrose (Advisory: contains appallingly bad sound quality):
I have no soundcard on this PC but Curtly Ambrose playing the bass is about as cool as it gets....
24. bet they are damn heavy though?
25. I quite fancy one of these.... Maybe we could order a few at a discount. I'd be happy with the Red or the Black sixer.
