I guess it's difficult to word these adds... You want to come across as professional and get accross the kind of level of player you are looking for, but also you don't want too scare everyone off from auditioning. I'd just put up something really simple with the genre, location and some basic info about the band then expand a bit when people reply.

Its a blue one.
I found them to be too long, even the short one is very long even at its shortest. I just couldn't get comfortable with it. I'm not a Mark King wannabe either . I use a comfort strapp, which I find to be excellent.
+1, I also use a comfort strap now.
Cameron. i have a Brooklyn Gear strap that i never use. your welcome to have it. its is the most comfortable high end strap I've ever used apart from the Sadowsky strap i use now. very adjustable, wide, thick and comfortable.. way better than the Mono in my opinion. just PM me your address details. and i will send it over. if you want it of course. here is a pic for reference.
Good stuff that

I keep trying various hats.... I always feel like a bit of a wally in one though.
-
My services were also recently dispensed of by a band for being "too jazz"
Here we go, then... which one is closest to your particular tragedy? I'm somewhere between II and IIA currently... for how much longer, I don't know.
I'm about an IV A currently
How can you be TOO bald..? Surely either you're bald, or you're not?
Apparentelly there is a scale where an acceptable level of hair loss can still be cool..... strange really as my baldness is way down the list of reasons I'm not cool.
-
I'm yet to fail an audition because of my playing but I have failed a few for being a grumpy bastard who won't play what he's told.... I also failed one once for being too bald...
I recently bought a G&L M-2000 (Tribute) and its fantastic. Really versatile.

This or any l 2000/2500 bass. Tributes are great, the American basses are killer. Why G&L aren't more common than stingrays is beyond me!
I had a G&L L2000 Tribby for a while and it was a fantastic instrument... No idea why they aren't more popular.
-
Depends what your looking for obviously.... Active basses can vary greatly in the sounds they produce depending on the type of preamp... If your after something HiFi and punchy you can't go far wrong with a stingray to be honest.
.....some are looking to join bands for the wrong reasons, like access to substances, drink and women.
I've definitely been joining the wrong kind of bands if this is a option.... On a slightly more contstructive note... One of my projects has recently been auditioning for a drummer, tried loads but settled on a guy a month or so back. The final say is with the singer/songwriter... I think too much emphasis has been placed on the "nice guy, team player" thing... I mean your not going to work with someone who is so obnoxious that they bring the whole thing down, but I'd rather go for someone whose playing made the band better that just choose someone who is a nice guy to hang out with.... We are after all here to make music first and foremost.

I've never had an issue with the regular foam earplugs... I grab a couple of sets from work every time I see a bag on site somewhere. It amazes me how many bands I play in where I'm the only one that wears them...

I prefer the second video...

Mel bought a mono strap from me, no problems whatsoever Deal with confidence.
Or you might prefer One Direction.
Given a straight choice between One Direction and The Smiths I'd have to go with One Direction....
-
I've decided to go for a Clover Avenger 6, second hand from Bass Direct...
Is that the redish sunburst one with the white pickups? I nearly bought that when they had it up new a while ago... Looks like a fantastic bass.
-
I've gone for a lined fretless stack knob jazz with a matching headstock and tug bar in this colour... which is apparentely called Opel Zinkgelb ...with a cream guard and pickups... Can't wait, it's due before Christmas.
Oh balls... I'm kind of wishing you hadn't posted that.
There are some lovely finishes on the facebook page, he could do with a proper website though.... he's not making anything from scratch rather compiling quality parts and then finishing them to your spec. (think he makes the pickguards and some of the periphery bits and bobs, also I think he does his own electronics).... Works for me though, I'd never be able to put a bass together and finish it to that standard myself. There are some nice little touches too, I like the matching tug bar. Apologies to the OP for the thread hijack...

Not a jazz but talking of Peterbuilt I'm rather fond of this...
-
Yeah just the facebook page... peter is a nice chap though and happy to disscuss all options via email.
-
I discovered peterbuilt when looking to have a fretless built a couple of weeks back. Dunno about nash but I contacted Mark at Limelight and they can't do standard finishes only reliced ones... With the good exchange rate you get a jazz to your specs and your colour choices with a hardcase for just over a grand.
-
I'm having a stack knob fretless jazz built with a matching headstock by peterbuilt basses in Holland.... and it's considerably cheaper than a new AVRI... also you can have any colour you want You will have to wait for four months though...

Tim bought a Mono strap from me. No hassle, no problems
The money is not always fantastic, but I'd rather work for 2-3 hours a day playing music than being stuck in an office for 8 hours working for the man. I can't do that sh*t anymore.
There is something to be said for this.... I only play originals as music isn't my job so I can afford to play whatever I like, I work Seven till Five during the week and it's boring as hell... As much as I have no interest musically in covers, would I play in a function band for the same money I get in my current job? ... of course I would. Me and Mrs C are looking at downsizing over the next couple of years and moving a bit further out of Central London... need to be less reliant on my salary then hopefully I can go part time and get involved in the music again... bit of teaching etc.

Mark bought a Mono strap from me and Deal #118 was just as smooth as the previous 117... the feedback speaks for itself really. Deal with total confidence.
