They aren't short enough for me... the short one is still too long, I have five of them sitting around not doing anything if anyone wants one? I bought a load for fender style basses that I no longer own. I use comfort ones now.

Ah i didn't realise you could see it on one of the pics.... the guy told me it was E56566 hence the confusion. I'm picking it up tomorrow

Seems like the Serial number is a digit short. E and five numbers instead of six... I had this with a US jazz once where it was a serial number destined for the export market to exclude it from the Fender US warranty.. I'm assuming this is something similar.

Thinking of taking a punt on this.... Anyone see any reason why I shouldn't? looks legit to me?

I've only ever had positive experiences with both buying and selling on BC. My only slight issue is people not leaving feedback... I solds three cabs in a week a little while back and left three lots of feedback... got nothing back from any of them.

They are available in a very cool selection of colours these...

Nice japanese P just around the corner from me.... if I wasn't trying to downsize a bit I'd be picking it up on my way home tonight. http://www.gumtree.c...1#photo-content
Should have insisted on hanging around to provide suitable soundtrack backing for the reading, all improv
I think it was a reading of a kids book one of the stall holders had written and was therefore promoting.... We did ask to finish the set after the reading but we were unceremoniously jettisoned in favour of some guy from the voice with a fashionable haircut...
....and each generation will always swear that 'their' music is better than that of the generations before and after them.
I regard the moment I started doing this as the exact point I became out of touch with anything cool....

Sometimes what your after isn't available in another instrument. If I could get the Wal pickups and preamp in a bass that wasn't costing me as much as a new Wal, I would have done... I've heard the ACG multi coils and filter preamp and they are excellent... but for me have a different sound to the Wal, a little more synthetic, although I do think that the ACGs are nicer aesthetically.
Or an eighty-quid Affinity...
I could look like a wally with either option....

We played a super hipster pop up market in Wimbledon on Saturday sans drummer.... We were third on in a long line of acts starting at eleven and running into the evening. PA guy was an hour late, so after a couple of acoustic sets we went on to raptuous applause from both members of the audience....got cut off after four songs to make way for a book reading that had apparentely been scheduled in. I think things might have got worse later on as when I left the PA guy told me he was going home in ten minutes.

Not sure about earning the right to play a top end bass, who decides who's eligible?.... but you would look like a bit of a wally on stage with a 12K fodera if you were rubbish.
Good to hear you're pleased with the sound. Sure, probably doesn't take up much less space when they're stacked, but two pieces can be stored around the house and transported in more flexible ways than one monolithic lump of speakers and wood
To be fair they're not exactly huge... and they are very portable, just not as small as some other options. No complaints with the sound though, they are excellent cabs.
Fender, just please make American Standards in classic colours like LPB, sea foam green, fiesta red and sonic blue. You will sell a LOT.
Thing is though... because these colours are popular they will just keep limiting them to their more expensive basses.
I've only ever owned 2 cabs - an Ashdown ABM 4x10 (which I thought sounded great but was rather heavy) and my current Zoot 4x10 (which I think sounds great, is nice and light, but I'm thinking it's a bit bulky). Scheming to replace with 2x1x12 modular rig. But right now my "best" cab is the Zoot. Which of course means a Purple Chili now.
I have a 2x 112 purple chilli setup at the moment... Sounds great and the cabs are super light but they are still quite big.
Two cans of lager - the sensible professional's choice for a (let me guess) two-hour session?
It's actually mandatory... the guys won't let me in the room without my lager ration for the evening.
I recorded my bands live EP in that room using the power section of the trace and a mix of DI and that cab miked up. I loved my tone with the VT Deluxe. https://soundcloud.c...inner/oubliette
It's a huge room... awful smell though No soundcard in the works PC unfortunatly but I'll check that out when I get home. It sounded great though the Trace alone so with the VT it must have been epic...

Looks like it might have been one of these... albeit a much older one http://www.hiwatt.co.uk/products/custom/bass-range/p/hiwatt-4x10-1x15-combined-speaker-cabinet Coming in at a cool £2K
Er... just what is that staining the carpet..?
It was like that when I got there officer...
What is the cab? Looks like it's got four tens and a fifteen in there...
I dunno... I couldn't see at the time but looking at that photo it does look like a 15 and 4 10s... think the camera flash is showing the outline of the cones. Sounded enormous though.

Turned up last night to Londons most salubrious rehearsal studio, Denmark Streets very own Enterprise Studios... Having waded through the pools of vomit here a few times before I was not looking forward to a evening of sh*t bass sound, sticky carpets and possible electrocution. We were given room 1, which along with smelling like an ogres armpit had this beast as my amp for the evening... Now those trace heads are pretty much a studio staple and they have always sounded crap to me without exception, so I wasn't expecting much from a cab that looked like it had been held together with gaffa tape since 1972... However it sounded absolutely huge.... I ran the amp volume on 1 out of 10 and it was punchy, deep, warm and seriously loud, probably the best sound I've had recently. I want one now... and someone to carry it.
Hee, hee! Did you get mine..?
I did, although due to the poor lighting I couldn't quite make out if it was you or not. I'm not convinced to be honest... the real Mrs C has a limited knowledge of bass guitar related issues and would be mostly posting Marxist propaganda in OT...
