2.
Hello, darling!
I thought it was you.... thats why I kept sending those saucy pictures...
 3.
Happiness is a wam P I just picked up a lovely American Special. Super light, really lovely neck, pure P bass TONE Not wishing to hijack the thread, but want to share the P love....
That is an exceptional looking instrument.
 4.
Silly question (but I've been caught out before) is there any power that you can plug into? Steve
Yeah there is power.. allegedly... Its more a case of wanting something small enough to carry with me on public transport.
 5.
* 46 'other-halves' who snuck in under an assumed monicker to find out what their spouses were saying about them online.
I wonder if Mrs C is here under an assumed name checking up on me
 6.
'Need' and 'Want' are two very different things.
Well yes... but using that logic I don't really need any bass at all, it's not like my life depends on it.
 7. I think the Fender P & J and the Stingray are still the benchmark by which other instruments are judged, all are regularly available on here for under a grand and are the basic instruments that others have improved/butchered depending on your take on things. There are not many genres you couldn't cover with a P, a J or a Stingray, so you could do a lot worse than choosing which ever is appropriate for the style you are playing and you'd have a bass for life. Personally I've craved the Wal sound since I first heard one and that is the tone I have in my head that I want my bass to sound like. I've tried several combinations of bass and amp to get there but in the end I have bitten the bullet and ordered a Wal... Will it make me a better player? No of course it won't but it will give me the sound I want and that will make playing more enjoyable, which for me is what it's all about.
 8.
But then - I'm a grumpy old git who likes a bass to sound like a bass
Me too... it's only ever going to come up short really isn't it, it's just too small. Nothing else for it, I'm going to have to lug one of my cabs on the train.
 9.
30,000 IS a lot I didn't think there were that many bass players out there Well done BC
I reckon a few are undercover agents from the guitar community.....
 10. Yeah nothing is really moving at all at the moment, the BC marketplace seems to be at it's lowest ebb...
 11.
prices obviously vary depending on quantity but these do 100 for £68 apparently (http://www.beermatcompany.co.uk/prices/) or £95 for 1000! tempted to give 'em a shot
Is that your logo in your BC image? that would look cool as a beer mat I reckon.
 12. 30'000 really is quite a lot though... It's incredible really.
 13.
Indeed, I was thinking along those lines, too. Slightly different version here:
That looks great... could pop some info and a list of upcomming gigs on the back.
 14.
I love this idea! our band logo is circular, that'd look awesome!!
Can't be too expensive to have some made up.
 15. Get some made into beer mats and give them to some pubs... they would look cool.
 16. Suddenly found out there is no PA at an acoustic event I'm doing this Saturday... (clue was in the acoustic bit of the event title really...) Are these Roland Micro Cubes any good? as in, can you actually get any bass frequencies out of it or is it all just burpy mid range honk?
 17.
There you go - Fender 1990 'American Traditional' Jazz Bass.
What a lovely looking Jazz....
 18. Can't go wrong with a bit of Jethro Tull... great stuff.
 19. Sold my 84 jazz to Aiden. Very easy to deal with, good comms, instant payment. Can't ask for more than that....
 20. Sold - Thanks guys
 21.
As an apology for the hassle I would like to send you an Ashdown T shirt and a free Dr Green or Ashdown FX pedal of your choice...
Can't argue with that... good stuff.
 22. Although some better pictures would be good...
 23.
My wife says I should start making those for money
She's right.... I'd buy one.
 24. Is it me or is it getting hot in here....
 25. Very much enjoyed rehearsal last night... tried a new studio in Hommerton, very difficult to find the door (a simple sign would have been useful) but once we were in it was pretty good. Had one of the new Fender Rumble combos that didn't sound half bad.
