1.
The early 80s basses were certainly lighter than the offerings from the late 70s. My 84 precision is not heavy and sits very nicely on the strap. I'm sure this Jazz will be the same. I just need to find £800!
It's a crap excuse I know but I just haven't had a chance to go out and get some scales.... It's lighter than my 50th anniversary jazz. Someone is coming round to have a look at it on Monday so it might be on its way out the door anyway. I'm going through that player / collector thing at the moment... I love having nice basses like this around but in truth I just don't play them. When the Wal arrives the plan is to get down to just that and a quality fretless.
 2.
+10
I've been here about a year so at the current rate I should be upto where you are by about the year 2026...
 3. Woo Hoo a thousand posts..... I really should find something more productive to do with my time
 4. Unfortunately it seems they can't do unreliced finishes.... Maybe peterbuilt can help me....
 5.
I really don't give a monkey's wang about anybody else's thought's about how shallow I am.
Good idea to hang on to those monkey wangs... never know when they will come in handy.
 6. I understand the necks are Allparts, so it would be limited to what's available.... unless you were to source your own I guess.
 7.
....the work involved and attention to detail is brilliant. Looks like a real beaut...
It's remarkable isn't it...
 8.
Really?!?! They do a colour called maize yellow??? That's a bit corny...
yeah like this apperantely... I've asked the question... I'll report back...
 9. In fact I'm going to ask him now...
 10. Having just flicked through the fender custom colour chart, maybe maize yellow....
 11.
Yes! That is what I have been trying (unsuccessfully it seems) to say all along...
I guess an unreliced one would be even cheaper? Surf Green fretless with a matching headstock and I'm in....
 12. I'd quite like one to be honest... Not a reliced one, but a jazz style bass in my choice of colour for a reasonable price is very appealing. I would like a limelight logo on the headstock though, if it's available as an option?
 13. I suppose for you guys doing working bands rehearsals are a necessary evil? Music isn't my job and I really look forward to rehearsals and gigs. I have so little time I'm not in the office I wouldn't be doing it if it wasn't fun
 14.
It's the beer holder strapped to your right leg that worries me...
To be honest the beer holder is far from the most worrying thing about that photo.....
 15. I've got rehearsal tonight too... very much looking forward to it
 16. I like earphones that let out as much sound as possible so other people on the bus can enjoy listening to my rap music...
 17.
The only reason this is still here must be because people are skint. To get an 84 in this condition for £800 is remarkable.
Or it might still be here because I don't have any proper scales to weigh it.......
 18. Things are slow right now... hardly anything is moving.
 19.
Being in a band is a team effort after all, so if everyone pulls together as a team, all good for the "common cause", which is why you are all in a rehearsal room together in the first place... surely?
Communist...
 20.
...I think it's a ploy to get out of helping set up the lights and PA
It'll be this....
 21. Bump..... haven't had time to grab some proper scales yet...
 22.
Whenever my skills as bassist are not required, I play the Pint.
ah the trusty pint... the traditional bass players second instrument.
 23. I really like these... the scratchplate and the logo makes them look really professional... You should buy in some decent budget basses and do a range of Ps and Js.... Could be a future to this.
 24.
And... did you get the gig?
I posted the advert.....
 25.
Good 'ol Argos Look forward to an accurate reading I can alway send you my digital luggage scales to borrow ?
My local Argos has gone upmarket recently and replaced the laminated books with ipads... I think I need to get hold of a set of luggage scales really, I've a couple of basses I'm trying to shift and I think they will be a handy acquisition.
