1. Whats the build time on these?.. ACGs that is.
2.
I also believe that I am one of only a handful of people that actually likes Dani Filth's voice. Though obviously that's a more black metal style.
I couldn't stand anything about Dani Filth.... awful man. I knew the Ryan brothers in the early day of cradle. Just about everyone in the Essex metal scene ended up in that band at some point.
3. Before everyone started doing the higher pitched thing, the low roar was the done thing in heavier bands... until nu metal came along and everyone started singing properly combined with the higher pitched scream type jobby. With the growly vocals I always prefered the louder and clearer verison (kinda like Max from Sepultura) where you just pushed your voice to a distortion, rather than the type where you basically spoke in a low rumble and had the mic turned up really high... always thought the former carried more power. I used to give it a fair go back in a death metal band I was in when I was 14....
4.
I stipulated no financial reward as that seems to me to be the most obvious reason why there are so many signature models around. By taking out the money we're basically left with either ego (I want everyone to know my name), integrity (sod off, I'm a serious musician here) or altruism (the world needs my vision of the ultimate bass) Some great responses
Well I definitely wouldn't do it if there was no money involved.... what on earth would be the point in that?
5.
I've changed a few times with New Moon, and it's always taken a minute or two over the phone.
Sounds good to me... think I'll give them a call. It's got to be better than relying on my house insurance
6. Is it easy to amend your policy to cover different instruments you aquire? I chop and change my gear so often, If I had to insure specific basses I'd be changing it every couple of weeks...
7. Not a bad word to say about G&Ls from me.... I had a L-2000 tribby and it was an excellent instrument.
8. A low Ab? is that even audible? must be seriously flappy...
9.
What is your name, anyway - Kardashian??
I would happily endorse my own range of beauty products... and for the appropriate fee... I would also feature scantily clad in the advertising campaign in a series of provocative poses. and they'd have to pay me less than if they wanted me to endorse this...
10. It'd be all about the money for me... I'd put my name to anything as long as they paid me enough.
11. You guys must lead much more interesting lives than me.... I don't do anywhere enough stuff to warrant a calender to make sure nothing clashes...
12. I also have the 12.2, its a ridiculous amount of amp for the money. I run mine into 2x 8ohm 112s and it is so preposterously loud that I've never taken the master above 9 o'clock. I very much like the notched control knobs too, gives it a nice solid feel.
13. I've a tribute sixer and for the money it's an excellent instrument. Pickups are it's weakest suit... a little boomy but easy to sort out with EQ. Plays great though and did straight out of the box. The sixers seem to go used for about £400 for a mint one so a bit less for a 4 or 5... I'd say a bargain really. It's bloody heavy though...
14. I have a very fetching Panama that mrs C won't let me wear... she says it makes me look like a colonialist.
15.
Nearly as nice as my white one!!
Wow...
16. It's beautful isn't it....
17. If I wasn't downsizing I'd have this... http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/63-fender-american-vintage-series-precision-bass-faded-sonic-blue/1063410443#photo-content
18. Sounds like a good idea to me.
19. To be honest it's not peoples opinions that are the issue.. everyone has different tastes with regards to what sounds good and what doesn't and different criteria for what makes a good product better than a bad one. I do see people being very over sensitive though... when someone disagrees with said opinions on what gear is the best, getting all uptight and defensive, typing out lenghtly replies as if the other party is suddenly going to realise the error of their ways and start liking the same stuff you do. I absolutely couldn't give a toss what anyone here thinks of my gear / playing... I find others opinions on stuff interesting, that's why I'm here talking about basses, but there is no chance that anyone is going to influence me to go against what I like.
20.
They were woolly then became more woolly then I gave up caring.
This.
21. *On Hold*
22. I don't know if my prices are way off, but I've had two Fender jazzers up for a while with absolutely zero interest.... not a peep. Think i'll either leave them here or just withdraw them and hang on to them, I'm really not wanting to go down the ebay route. Some basses seem to get put up at ridiculous prices though... sees to be a theme at the moment with putting fender jazz deluxes up at £20 less than the new price...
23. Get one of these http://www.russandrews.com/product.asp?lookup=1&region=UK&currency=GBP&pf_id=1564&customer_id=PAA0323052614563GNCHLEKURJGYHPRT A 2m one is only £5K
24. I think it was some sort of anniversary model, not an entirely serious instrument... Damn it's ugly though.
25. Not sure I'm quite world championship standard but I'd definitely give it a go if a local event came up.
