1. I always though pentatonic was I,II,III,V,VI ? so in A : A,B,C#,E,F#?
2. This http://basschat.co.uk/topic/229060-fender-1983-avri-fullerton-57-precision-with-ohsc/
3. I've not played one but they do look nice.... I've got a Tune 5 string fretless I might move on that would leave you a fair chunk of cash...
4. Ashdown do seem to have good customer service. I'd never buy any of their products though as I think they sound crap. My Genz rig seems to be behaving itself.
5. Excellent cases these, I bought one other day otherwise I'd have had yours. I got the little extra pocket that clips on the front for a bit more storage. Best gigbag I've had.
6. Nevermind the new colours... sonic blue would do me.
7. How on earth is it not snapping at the neck join under the string tension? Looks kinda cool though...
8.
No it was John Fruciante who stopped playing so Anthony could tell the perps to "put that f***in sh*t out you a**holes, you want people to die?" Nobody stormed off though. Twice it happened too. Unbelievable!
That sounds about right... I knew it was more than once they stopped.
9.
I concur that they were great that night (even though some tools down the front were making fires which made the band stop a couple of times!)
I remember something about that... didn't the singer throw a bit of a tantrum and go off stage for a while? Questionable idea starting a fire in an enclosed space full of thousands of people.... My other memory of that years festival was some large angry looking men who had set up a tent near where you came into the campsite, they had one of those huge army style tents with the open front full of pallets of beer... no clothing, food or bedding... just crates of beer....
10.
Has anyone seen RHCP live? I haven't and am wondering whether it's worth it if the opportunity comes around.
I saw them headline Reading in 1999... although I was on mushrooms so don't remember if they were any good...
11.
Shocking, however, I know he can play really & I'll still be trying to get to IOW festival this year just to see their Californian asses
A dearth of Californian ass in Wolverhampton then?
12. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for westone thunders... I can't really justify buying one but I do think they look good.
13. Nice... Thinking of going Vanderkley myself. I fancy two 112s to pair with my ShuttleMax12.2
14.
The Eden ex112 was the cab that made me start this thread. At around £200 it got me thinking how much for a quality small cab these days.
I have one of these I've paired with a GK MB200 as its 4 ohm... Super tiny rig that I can take on the bus. It's small and light but to be honest it sounds a bit honky. The GK Neo 112 I had with it before was bigger and 8 ohm but sounded much smoother.
15.
Have a look at the Schroeder SP12's. Absolutely awesome. Light as a feather and by far the best cabs I've used so far... They came shipped direct Schroeders in California but even with import tax etc they were well worth it and no more expensive than the other contenders out there.
I was trying to find a UK stockist for these the other day... a bit of googling didn't seem to turn anything up. Popped in the Gallery on Saturday and they have both the CN112s and the 112MNTs comming in in about 3 weeks time, so I'll take my amp and bass down and give them both a go.
16.

I walked past a shop down by embankment today that had something like this in the window... it was about £6K ... .. far cry from halfords.....
17. Todays GAS is for a P bass...... one of those 63 reissue ones in sonic blue.... or maybe one of the white ones.... Although the 112 GAS from earlier in the week hasn't gone away it's just got more bergantino shaped
18. I can vouch that this bass sounds and looks fantastic... an absolute bargin.
19. Pair of quality 1x12s on the GAS radar for me this afternoon....
20. Why do I keep thinking of a Warwick Corvette......
21. I've been going through this for a while.... Anyone got experience of using a pair of Berg CN112s or a pair of Vanderkely 112MNTs? I'm interested in what the differences would be? Thinking of running these with my Genz ShuttleMax12.2 as a more portable alternative to the 2x Genz nx212ts I currently run.
22. Sounds a bit self justifying to me if I'm honest.... How about small venues actually paid bands that played there? This always used to happen when I was in bands back when I was 14, why has it changed? When you guys played the lexington the other week it was packed, do they imagin their bar would be that busy with no live music? Needs to be more respect for the bands and less - I am the saviour of the music industry crap you get from venue owners... *edit* same thing said much better in the post above.
23. Give an advert on gumtree a go, or try joinmyband. Just write a few lines about what your looking for and your expectations etc Then once you've waded through 15'000 replys from metal bands you'll hopefully find something suitable.
24. I thought the days of sending out CDs to promoters etc were well over....
25. Its not really about the voice though is it.... They are listening trying to work out how attractive the singer is by the sound of their voice. After the first round it's basically xfactor.
