1. I had a corvette fiver for a while. It sounded awesome but the string spacing was so tight it was unplayable to me... There are so many bargain basses out there at the moment, there really is no need to stick with something you find uncomfortable
2. This has never bothered me... I often see stuff I've sold going up on here for more a few months later. I tend to sell cheap to get rid of stuff quick so if someone else wants to wait it out for the right buyer to come along and pay a higher price good luck to them
3.
Letts
His basses were never flavour of the month... Suing him was flavour of he month for a while though.
4.
Nerves have never bothered me, I suspect my monumentally large and unjustifiable ego may be at work there.
Naah I have a similar ego and I always get nervous...
5. Not really my thing if I'm honest... awesome technique though.
6. Try New Rose in Camden... I live opposite and I'll come over with tea and biscuits. ... actually don't it's far too expensive. ... and I'm not sure how long the biscuits have been open for. ..
7. Fenders have been flavor of the month every month for 60 years... except a brief period in the 80s when slapping the sh*t out of your bass became popular....
8. I wouldn't risk it to be honest.... it's just too dangerous...
9. Since coming back to the bass a few years back I haven't broken a single one, but back in the days when I was slapping the sh*t out of my bass in a hardcore band it was a regular occurrence... especially as I needed brand new super bright rounds and spent all my money on drugs instead of strings... ended up boiling them several times which never does much for structural integrity.
10. Transportation is my issue... I get to all my gigs on public transport so it's just the one bass for me. I do take spare strings, batteries, tools etc though obviously.
11. Mrs C has an utter disinterest in bass guitars... but that's OK I've no interest in her hobby which is whinging about the plight of minorities... ... I don't really know why we get on
12. In my latest project the singer / songwriter won't let me get anywhere near contributing towards rehearsal despite my best efforts... He also seems to feel the need to provide a buffet of sandwiches and snacks, alongside beer and a selection of soft drinks...
13. Mustang Sally...
14. Always loved this track...
15. I use an Epifani Piccolo with my pair of One10s as it's small, light and damn loud... Doesn't sound as good as the glockenklang i had but it is half the weight... its a trade off really. The post brexit pound plumet now makes Epifani gear prohibitively expensive though as you really have to order direct as no-one seem to stock it.
16.
I had GAS for a P-Bass but I've cured myself of it by installing a series switch in my Jazz. Only time will tell if the PBAS comes back
inevitably it will... P bass GAS is a permanent condition... I have absolutely no need for a P bass and yet when I sold my last one I felt a bit odd not owning one. So despite still having no practical use for one I now have another ... It's a great bass though
17. Mine's all covered under the contents insurance through Aviva... Have to have my basses as listed items to be covered outside the house and for professional use. ... of course I will only know how good the cover really is in the event that I have to make a claim
18. Well done chaps
19. I've got a .145 on my Wal at the moment... its like a suspension bridge cable... great tone and tension though
20. Depends how much the bass is worth and whether you want to insure it? I recently sent a bass to Denmark via UPS and fully insured it was just shy of £400... Ridiculous... Also at the risk of sounding a little cynical, is the buyer a regular? PayPal just side with the buyer automatically in any dispute and it cause issues...
21.
Anyway, that's the dream I've been chasing!
Yeah me too
22. I'll have a listen through tonight chaps... let the side down this month buy not putting in an entry, hopefully back to normal service next month
23. Is an ungigged reliced bass more desirable?
24. GES Is never really a permanent state... Especially with amps / cabs... As technology improves, the perfect setup becomes obsolete and GAS rises once again. Also tastes change over time and what once was the bass for any situation now seems inappropriate for your new Greenlandic Death Folk band... I have my ultimate bass (and a fretless sister bass on the way). Doesn't stop me gassing for other gear though If I had the money / space I'd have a massive collection.
