1. Other more knowledgeable folks to follow but my Glocknklang did this and i think it was just a capacitor discharging or something... made a god awful noise if you turned the amp back on again before the pop had occurred...
 2.
Seeing as becoming a bass player/musician ruined my life as i should have done Sciences at Uni instead of music and gotten a proper jobs.
Yes it ruined mine too... all those teenage years trying to be a rockstar instead of studying to be an investment banker... I'd be retired by now
 3. There are a few ritters around, a number of foderas, a couple of alembics and a smattering of pre-CBS Fenders... it'll likely be one of those... doesn't someone have a mint 57 P?
 4.
I've not noticed any colouration Rob
Looks like a very useful bit of kit to me... think I shall pick one up
 5.
Cheap as chips option. You can set the output level of each channel to your amp on the pedal. I've got one, works perfectly
Is that clean? doesn't colour the sound in any way? ... looks a very useful bit of kit.
 6.
I've got one.
Well if you've bought it at any time in the last eight years it could be the same one....
 7.
And the headlite and amplite had so much promise!
I really liked the look of the headlite... any idea why it didn't catch on?
 8. it looks lovely but the idea of a refin kills it for me... I know, I know... I'm just shallow like that... has to be all original for me
 9. When I was a kid with no money they were always the brand I hoped some day I would own...
 10. Essentially if there is any other way, don't use a courier...
 11. Its a minefield... Long thread here about it http://basschat.co.uk/topic/156589-couriers-packing/page__pid__3085482__st__180#entry3085482 UPS via interparcel appears to be the most often suggested way of doing it, but there are horror stories there as there are with them all... I sent a high value bass via UPS to Denmark recently and including insurance it was around £400... which is ridiculous... It's also necessary to look into what the insurance actually covers you for as quite often basses are excluded.
 12.
Yep,I'm barking mad i know
I wouldn't worry about it... I tried countless basses before I found what I was looking for
 13.
I have just seen the seller posted in FB that the bass went off to Germany.
Well I guess it cost him a grand less than it would have a fortnight ago...
 14.
I might do a vid though it may be 60 seconds of me crying sobing why why! Into the pickup ive heard the salt and snot really mellows out a pu.
Not only does it mellow out the PUs it also drastically increases the value in a similar way to sand-papering the forearm area... Keep your head up although it doesn't seem like it at the time, you will come out the other side
 15. I'll be keeping an eye on the talkbass Wal thread as I expect that is where it ended up...
 16.
£7.400 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Early-Wal-Bass-JG-custom-/152149147346?hash=item236ccbbed2:g:GeQAAOSwbYZXdDLo#ht_598wt_1005
Ive been following this with interest and thought the final figure might be up around £8k... I did have some contact with the seller and he said that he didn't know what it would go for but he did think the starting price of £3.5k was a little on the light side... Just a little as it turns out :s
 17.
Not sure where you're going to find it!
Well certainly not on here...
 18.
'Understated', eh..? What do you do for 'brash'..?
Ha... Brilliant.
 19.
Bit late on this one, currently at Cornbury festival.Ok so who's paying for the building promo this month?!?!
It's my turn this month and I've gone for an understated billboard of the certificate during the men's Wimbledon final this weekend...
 20. I had to use one recently to hold chord charts with my notes scribbled all over them, as I joined an originals band who played a gig a week later... I'd have had no chance to learn the full set around my day job... I looked like a bit of a nob but then again I usually do anyway. ... besides it was an originals gig so there was no-one there to see me anyway
 21. 13 voters! Another month of unprecedented interest!
 22. Thanks dad I'm honoured
 23.
Zombie thread revival. I have fell off the wagon and am currently seriously considering the purchase of an Ibanez BTB1605. JUST LOOK AT IT !
Goodness me... that is quite something
 24. I have Fender GAS at the moment... either for a shell pink custom shop jazz with a matching headstock or an American Standard maple/sunburst jazz... However I sold an MIJ jazz last week that was an excellent instrument... I'll never learn
 25.
Eleven entries and only ten voters! Democracy in action - or should that be inaction (I'm one of the ten incidentally)
Yes someone must have spoiled their ballot paper in protest...
