1.
Done
You haven't got time for filling out questionnaires... get back to this months noodle...
 2.
Like the guy who recently made a comment to me along the lines of my ray not being the real thing and me 'getting there one day'
I've had the reverse of that on a couple of occasions over the last few years... band members (particularly band leaders) developing an instant resentment towards me when they go home after an audition and look up what a Wal costs. There is an attitude on the originals circuit that if you have a proper job and nice gear you're somehow not a proper musician... proper musicians play squiers and live on their mate's sofa.
 3. Hoping to have mine by the end of the month
 4.
Half a dozen! Blimey, I do have a Mk I on order as well, but that is some months away. Here are the Mk IIIs ready for collection
What a pair I think when my fretless sixer arrives next year, the next build will have to be a 4 string MK3... What have you got there? American Walnut and Sycamore?
Half a dozen! Blimey, I do have a Mk I on order as well, but that is some months away.
Perhaps I was seeing double... it was a Saturday so there is a fair chance rum was involved somewhere along the line...
 5.
I just bought a few sets of these off amazon. https://www.amazon.c...8161_TE_3p_dp_1 Similar principle to the grolsh washers but hopefully easier to get on and off... thought I'd give them a whirl anyway at £3.45 They should arrive tomorrow, I shall report back if they are any good.
Yeah don't buy these they're crap...
 6. Love the look of Mesa gear... Happy new rig day!
 7.
I think the blue one looks nicer... http://www.spectorbass.com/legend4neckthru
Yes that is nice... Quite unusual too, high gloss blue burst type finishes are usually darker.
 8. Welcome to BC and glad to hear of your return to the bass fold... Other more knowledgeable suggestions will follow, but the zoom B1on is very reasonably priced, has an aux in (for playing along to your mp3s) and a headphone out... so you may not need to run everything through the PC at all .
 9.
Well, it is difficult to mask a tone of voice that one would naturally have when being asked an odd question. Unless I misread, Mark did answer, but perhaps didn't mask his surprise at being asked all too well.
yeah fair enough... maybe he was having a s**t day.
 10.
Cab very light, fits on back seat of family car.
I don't have a car... if I did I'd have bought this already! I'm sure you won't be waiting long for a buyer
 11. At work now, but I'll do this later... ... although my level of competence is debatable
 12. Surely whether it's a weird question or not is irrelevant? If a customer phones up and asks a question, it makes sense to just answer them... there is a chance they are going to be buying something from you, so presumably you want to be as accommodating as possible?
 13. as above really... don't worry about it, how "good" a player is is entirely subjective anyway. ... makes sense to me to buy the best gear you can afford regardless of ability.
 14. Now that is a seriously good looking setup... I couldn't even fit it in my house let alone get it to a gig but wow... it's certainly a looker!
 15.
....but nobody's played one of these neck thru's
This is the first time I've even seen one
 16. I've not played one of those but I had Legend sixer when I first came back to the bass a couple of years back and it was excellent... not just excellent for the money but actually excellent. Something looks a bit odd about those to me though... The fancy top looks too small for the body, like it shrank in the wash at the bridge end
 17. Lovely... no funds in the bass pot at the moment but have a bump
 18. I have a corner of the living room... space is at somewhat of a premium in a tiny London flat.
 19.
It's not actually the guitarist in our case!
It's the tuba player isn't it? always showboating with 200bpm scale sweeps those tuba guys....
 20.
If you let me know the width of your Wals neck I'll measure the jaws for you to see if it'll fit if you want.
T That would be great thanks... I'll measure it tonight.
 21.
The Ultimate Support stand I've got has a V shaped hanger so it will take a lot of different neck sizes.
I was just thinking a v shaped hanger would work... Is it one of these?
 22. I only play originals so have never played anything anyone is remotely interested in, let alone danced too...
 23. oh great somewhere else well stocked with bass gear for me to spend money on....
 24. I could really do with a decent "hang from the head" style stand for my Wal but I can't find one with wide enough jaws to fit the neck in ... any recommendations greatly appreciated.
 25. I've not been fired from a band (except a band at school when I was 15, but that was fair enough as I replaced by a very good and much older player... also it was a metal band so you couldn't hear the bass anyway.). I have also left a few bands through mutual consent, ie. reaching an impasse neither of us were prepared to compromise on, which again is fair enough. I have however over the last couple of years failed to impress at several auditions for reasons ranging from being "too jazz" too being "too bald" and even once "not wearing my bass low enough"... one time after extensive and enthusiastic email correspondence and me recording some bass over a demo track at home, which went down well, I didn't actually make it to the audition after sending a photo of myself and the band leader subsequently discovering I was a White guy... To be fair I would have looked a bit out of place in a band rapping about inequality etc... shame though as it was damn funky music. It seems I am not alone in this...
I've only been fired once, and that was because "you're not black enough"....
