Right... who's got a pair of these they can bring to the herts bash?
I remember a time when you could kill a whole day there.
I initially read this as "I remember a time when you could kill a whore there"... halycon days.

Hi phin, you mention your local store is The Gallery, how local is that to you? I live just round the corner from The Gallery and you'd be more than welcome to pop over for an hour and try a P and a J to see how they feel before parting with any cash. Happy to go over the differences with the pickups, answer any questions etc.
Hee, hee. The build quality is not bad. You can also specify a One10 to have the handle on the side with the feet, thus leaving a nice flat area on the other side for your amp... quite a few on TB have done this, and one or two of this parish also, I believe.
I reckon with the rubber feet my amp might clear the handle anyway... mind you putting the handle on the bottom just to be safe is a good plan. To be honest it only weighs 7kg so the handle doesn't really get much of a workout anyway. Be interested to hear back once you've used it with drums...
Is that with them stacked vertically? The One10 is 11.5" wide vertically and 15" wide horizontally. You won't have any dispersion issues if you stack them either way, it's still two 10" cabs on top of each other. Or you could think outside the box and see it as an excuse to buy another amp.
Well the Glock is 12.6" x 11" so I expect the feet would still fit on the cab if vertical... might be a little unstable though! I didn't even think about stacking them the other way . That would of course work fine negating the issue entirely... handle might get in the way but I expect that'll fall off after a few days anyway....

I've just looked up the dimensions and I'd have half an inch overhang either side with my Glockenklang...
You need have no worries on that score. The One10 is completely unlike any other small box with a 10" driver in it. I'm using a P with flats admittedly, but I'm getting a lovely warm tone with my amp set flat. The 'baked-in' tone of the One10 is very sweet indeed. I'm still grinning.
Good stuff... I'm hoping to make the Herts bash this year and I very much hope someone has a pair. What are the dimensions? ... I'm terribly OCD about amp overhang ... looking at your photo anything much more than MB200 would overhang? Then again if an MB200 is enough through them I'd just get another one of those.
I've gigged a pair of these for a while (on loan from Barefaced) one cab was plenty for smaller restaurant gigs using a mark bass f1 (250W at 8ohms) and I used both on bigger gigs, and they great. Plenty enough 'heft'. They are such efficient cabs I'd expect the MB200 to be fine for most gigs.
Interesting... I think I'm going to have to try a pair. It's not the lack of volume or bottom end that I'm apprehensive about, more the core tone... I don't want my bass to be all mids and not a lot else, which was my previous experience of the older cabs. The idea of two of these is very appealing though and the rep seems to be good now so I think I shall have to try myself a pair.

Mind you don't scuff our gold street paving on your way through...
Well I see I'm at least drawn in last place with my fav piece this month currently!. So that might suggest my taste in noodles and my noodle making is crap haha.
A long way to go yet We've had a unprecedented level of interest so far in Nine voters...

How GK does the GK sound through it? if that makes any sense

Handle looks good and sturdy,,, In all seriousness, I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with this and what you think of the tone... It's just possible that a pair of these would be the ultimate, flexible, portable cab solution.

Depends on the individual instrument obviously, but I have recently acquired an MIJ Jazz and the build quality is comparable with anything I've seen from the USA built range... having said that though, as everything is built by CNC then bolted together, I've had Harley Benton basses that are just as well put together as anything else, if you put hardware and electronics aside. It won't sound like a ric obviously, it's a jazz... but the build quality will be top notch

I posted the BC commandments in another thread last week...
1) Thou shalt ask the weight of every bass for sale regardless of whether one intends to buy the bass in question. 2) Thou shalt not criticize barefaced products, they we're crafted by angels from trees felled in the sacred forest and are beyond reproach ... especially the handles. 3) Thou shalt ask which bass is best for metal at every opportunity. 4) Thou shalt start a new thread discussing the merits of relicing if the previous one has received no replies for a period of 3 days. 5) Thou shalt suggest gear thy currently own to anyone asking a which bass / which amp / which pedal is best question. 6) Thou shalt always refer to thy vintage Fender as "one of the good ones" 7) Thou shalt declare a "final price drop" a week after listing a bass for sale and withdraw it in a huff a couple of days later if it does not sell. 8) Thou shalt reply "it's all in the fingers" to any thread discussing tone. 9) Thou shalt declare all class D amplifiers to be lacking in "Heft" 10) Thou shalt advise anyone asking about upgrading their gear to spend the money on lessons instead. ... oh and 11) Thou shalt buy all thy cables from OBBM.
Knobcore.
I understand Oasis broke up a while back effectively killing the genre....
You can actually put another word in front of the word in front of metal, and that is too! http://everynoise.com/engenremap.html
Indeed... You can also pick a random word and put "core" after it.

You can put just about any word in front of metal and it's a genuine sub-genre...

Two months earlier in this thread...
I sold a L2000 tribute a while back and I kinda wish I hadn't... It was a great bass and I could do with an active fretted four. Lots of bass for the money.
Since then, I bought another one and sold it again...

Could you extend the ports, bend them over the top, then flare them out a bit so it looks like a giant double trumpeted gramophone?
Played fingers pretty much from day 1 (nearly 20 years.... sh*t) but recently had a short hiatus. I watched a bobby Vega clip a few months ago and made a conscious effort there and then to learn properly with a pick.
Yep me too...

These get better and better each month... My favourite three out of another excellent bunch are Agwin, xgsjx and subsonic. Agwin's piece is wonderfully musical and I think sounds like a full blown composition, albeit only a minute in length... I can imagine it being used under a fond reminiscing type scene in a movie... Great musicality and smooth tasteful execution. xgsjx's offering grooves harder than any of the others to my ears this month. I love the attack you add to the key notes whilst holding back a little on the passing and build up notes. It's dynamic and punchy and everything I think a good bass line should be. I could listen to SubsonicSimpleton's playing all day and if he brought out a solo album I'd buy it in an instant. This is another example of expressive and emotive DB playing, showcasing a flawless technique and some inspired creativity... Love it.
http://soundcloud.com/skol-mixes/noodle-03
Lovely stuff you caress a fantastic tone from that bass of yours... It's very Wal like... A woody middy bark... Sounds wonderful to my ears, just my kind of tone.
And noodled https://soundcloud.com/user-623375481/almost-st-thomas
That's brilliant... I love the little rhythmic bit near the end before the groove comes back in and also the way you add in little lead in taps and catch the notes between phrases. It sounds great and I could listen to you playing all day.

I had this back in the day... Brings back memories of sitting in smokey rooms...
