Yes I think you definitely should be paying ACG a visit... Have a look to see if he has anything fretless with his MultiCoil pickups in it, I'm betting you won't need to look any further if he does

The idea is fine so long as nothing goes wrong... Who ends up responsible if the courier looses or breaks it? What happens if the bass turns up and it's not as described? seller blames shipper etc... could get very messy.
Agreed, it's a bass guitar and it has more in common with an electric guitar than a double bass.' Blue
Yes that's true aesthetically, but the notes you play and the roll you fulfill in a band has far more in common with the double bass than it does the guitar. I regard the electric bass as a portable, easily amplified alternative to the double bass. ... also that precision patent pic is awesome, I'm going to get something similar made up at the weekend.
I loved all that part of being a kid tho! I remember I had flyers for basses all over my walls - things like Westone and Washburn which just seemed like cool, exotic, beautifully contoured wondrous things. Not really the same now I'm in my 40s with internet access eh...
I think Mrs C might take a dim view of me plastering the bedroom walls with pictures of bass guitars...

I've used them for a few bits and bobs before, no issues. They have an impressive amount of stuff available online

Not one that got away because I could never have afforded it at the time, but there was a burl maple top Sei sixer in an advert from a copy of bassist magazine I got when I was at school (14 or 15 years old). I literally became obsessed with it, I cut the ad out and carried it around with me for about six months... even tried to get the school to give me a grant to buy it... I was desperate for it, first time I'd really really GASsed for a bass. ...of course in true GAS fashion by the time I did actually have the money to buy decent gear I wanted something else and the Sei was long forgotten.
Let us know how you get on.
I will have a play around with it at the weekend and report back Hopefully now I have something specific I'm looking for it'll be an easy fix

Thanks very much for the replies chaps... I will investigate the monitoring situation and post a link up if I can't figure it out. It sounds perfectly feasible that this may be the problem
So I went along to Wunjos on the strength of this thread, and came away with http://s1128.photobu...5%20Sandblasted So why did I buy it? Was it the great-looking body and lustrous colour? Was it the light weight and impeccable neck? Was it the range of tones on offer - not two but three? Or was it the chance to own a basic, simple instrument that requires a 7-word name. Ladies & Gentlemen, I give you the Fender American Standard Limited Edition Sandblasted Precision.
Looks fantastic... can't beat a good P bass

The advantage of only ever having played originals is that I can just tell people I've changed my part if I make any mistakes...

A single 210 will be more than enough for home use and the occasional jam with a drummer I've been using this setup recently and I've not had the amp over halfway in a project with a very loud rock drummer. Only time I would want another 210 is if I was playing a large venue without PA support.

Hi Guys, bit of a random one. I've noticed that when I am recording my bass, either into my boss br80, or more recently into garageband through a core-1 interface something doesn't sound quite right... I'm happy with my sound through my rig, in fact I'm always able to get a usable tone live through house rigs, or straight DI, but when I record straight in something doesn't sound quite right, even if I put an amp sim first from my B1on. The best way I can describe it is that it sounds almost doubled... like two separate tones. I thought I'd narrowed it down to something to do with using both pickups, as when I fade to only using one (on either a Wal or a jazz bass) I don't seem to get the issue. it sounds like something is out of phase, if that makes any sense? Am I doing something wrong? could it be some sort of stereo issue or similar?

1982 for me... Could get something sparkly with LEDs to wear up under my chin I suppose

Never used chorus myself when playing fretless
Good advice, thanks! He's got small hands so I might go down the Jazz route as the neck won't be as big for him. This looks good http://www.thomann.d...ntage_serie.htm
I had a deco version of that and it was an excellent bass in every way. Great fit and finish, Wilkinson pups and d'addario strings as standard. It's a hell of a lot of bass for £100. I think my deco one was about £40 if you're prepared to wait for one to come up and take the risk.

I started at 12 with an awful awful squier P bass... It had a tort guard that looked like jagerbomb vomit... If you're not sure if he'll stick with it, I'd get a cheap and cheerful Harley Benton P to start with, then if he decides bass is for him you can get something better depending on what he likes / dislikes about the P
...My Birthday was in January and now I've only got 21 months to wait for my fretted MK1 with birdseye maple facing.....if something is worth having it's worth waiting for.
It is a bloody long wait though isn't it... I ordered an MK3 fretless sixer in November and it's still well over a year away
My gf wants me too justify why I must insist on switching my main and only bass several times a year, month or even every week. That I can't justify fully even too myself, especially as my playing level isn't that high. Love the Acg I now have though and can't see me parting with it for some time.
Makes perfect sense to me to keep trading basses until you find one your happy with

I would love a JG series Wal... In the unlikely event one of the 46 were to surface ... a pre-CBS would also be a worthy addition to any collection

Can't comment on the tone I'm afraid, but they certainly look good. Not always a reliable indicator I know, but I seem to remember a positive review in BGM sometime last year
Should have gone to Specsavers!
don't... specsavers is a sore point at the moment... work have made me order some very fetching prescription safety glasses from there, that are going to make me look like Elton John when I'm wandering around site next week trying to give an air of managerial authority...
