1.
Fella seems genuine...ring him..
Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Edinburgh... If it's not a scam then it's a bargain there for someone ... weird inlays though...
 2. That must be some sort of scam surely?
 3.
Nice, what amp are you using with it?
I'm running it with a glockenklang blue soul, very clean uncoloured class D. I've no reason to suspect the berg wouldn't be just as impressive with something more old school like a streamliner though if that's your bag It a great cab and a trade off I'm happy I made... Not much point having a rig I can't get to gigs!
 4. I've been using one for few months now. It's easily loud enough for a rehearsal with a loud rock drummer. Good deep tight bass, not at all honky. Also it's really easy to transport around on a trolly. It is not as good as the pair of 112s it replaced but its always a trade off with size vs power. I'm more than happy with it but I'd want another if gigging without PA support.
 5. Flats on a p is one of the quintessential bass tones. I had jap 57p with chromes and vintage frets -wonderful to play and deep smooth tone with the treble rolled off.
 6.
I never thought of myself as having lead a particularly sheltered life, but I honestly have no idea what half of those things are. It sounds to me like a rundown of the starters at Aintree 🐴
I didn't either... But I googled them and now I do... My advice is not to do that.
 7.
My new Rig replacing the slightly too heavy Ampeg one:
Oh yes... Nothing looks cooler than mesa gear.
 8. This thread is making me want to go out and buy one today...
 9.
Holy Smokes Rob Size 2 !!! A bit difficult to store stuff in a matchbox sized shoebox...
Yes I often worry about losing her down drains, cattle grids, cracks in the road etc...
 10.
Mrs C must have huge feet!
Conversely Mrs C has ridiculously small feet... I often point and laugh at them. ... despite the lack of availability of normal person shoes in a size 2 she has managed to aquire a collection of a biblical scale.
 11.
Mummy! Mummy! Rob said a rude word! He said "W**"!
WAL, FODERA, FBASS, ENFIELD, GUS!
 12. It's probably easier to list the basses that I don't have GAS for...
 13. Not yodel or myhermes...
 14.
Rob - you just had to go and do the W thing didn't you!
I know... I know... no more pics I promise.
 15.
That's a beautiful piece of wood, but I'd be petrified of catching the knobs on something and shearing one off. Oh - and it has 2 more strings than I need, but a fabulous piece of craftsman ship by the look of it. Your pride and joy no doubt.
I'm more than happy with it.. especially as I had to wait 18 months for it! Not everyones cup of tea but it's everything I hoped it would be. The front and back facings are Ziricote... I also got Paul to add a little piece on the headstock face.
 16.
I don't see the clockweights. Can we have a close-up of your clockweights, please?
I'm no longer allowed to show my "clockweights" to anyone after an incident on the bus last year...
 17.
Oh my gawd. I just invented the marital bass case: it's double layer, and in one half you store 1 (one) bass, whilst in the detachable half, you store 5 (five) pairs of her pumps. The crux of course is in the rules: if she wants more shoes, this will only go if there's space left in a readily bassed marital bass case.
I'm in... where can I buy some? The rule is going to be that she can only have more shoes if there is space in the marital bass case for them... If there isn't then a new case must be purchased and I may fill my half with another bass... You sir are a genius.
 18.
...instruments which don't look like grandfather clocks on straps.
This is actually a fairly accurate description of my bass...
 19.
I wanted to give mine away to a Scot; he insisted on paying for it. They are that good.
Mine was so good that it once saved a small child from drowning...
 20. The bass guitar was invented partly due to the incovenience of lugging a DB about with you...maybe a try a cello instead if it's just for a few songs? it will be quite an undertaking to learn an entirely new instrument!
 21. Every available bit of storage space in my house is occupied by a pair of Mrs C shoes... If I buy any more basses I'll have to build something in the garden to store the cases.
 22.
I like the Wetherspoons example...
Do wetherspoons still do curry night on Thursdays? ... it's Thursday today... I may run the gauntlet of chavs down holloway road this evening.
 23. You guys with loads of basses (of which I am most jelous) do you have cases for them all? If so, where are the cases? I had six basses at one point last year and they didn't take up that much space on the rack thingy I've got, but the cases took up half the bedroom...
 24. I had one for a while and thought it was an excellent bass. Good fit and finish, well ballanced, P bass like playability and a wide selection of tones available... nothing to dislike really
 25. I've always liked the look of this... Although I'd never buy one as I couldn't get past the gold hardware, short scale and the fact that it's someones signature bass... they look damn cool though.
