  1. What I have discovered though is that the tremolo effect can only be heard when I use the 'Line out/headphone' socket. Also the effect is present overall, just more pronounced at the bass end.Not to worry,as its only for practice purposes anyway.Appreciate your input BBS.
  2. I've never tried using the bass on its own.I must give that a try.I cant share any music as its original material and the author has asked/told me not to.But thanx for that anyway. PS.I'll tell you what I've done.I recorded a few seconds of bass through the Tascams mikes and on playing it back thru headphones, the 'tremolo' effect is prominent. On playing through the mini stereo amp I use with my PC,connected to the Tascams 'Line out' the effect is there BUT..Connecting the Tascam via USB and playing the tracks,The effect is gone.No trace.Tearing my hair out here.☹️
  3. I use a Tascam to record my mates acoustic guitar and my bass in rehearsing some of his original material.I'm through an amp and hes playing and singing acoustically,My problem is that on playback, the bass sounds like it has an added 'tremolo' effect. We've tried different locations for the Tascam but that same effect is still there.Would it be down to room acoustics,do you think? Thanx.
  4. Yeah all good now.Minor glich.Had to change my PW tho'.
  5. Just tried.Had to wait for a 6 digit passcode in an email, enter that and then be told that I should change my password. Now its telling me to log in,and when I click that it tells me that I'm already logged in.What a palaver!
  6. I never watched it right through but I remember the fretless bass in the theme tune. For some reason Mo Fosters name seems important, but it might have been some wee unheard of session man.Still like it though.
  7. Just noticed on the news that Bergerac is making a comeback.I always liked the theme music with that lurvly fretless bass.I've googled best I can,it but nowhere can I find out who the bass player was.Anybody know?
  8. Do you not find it a bit heavy?I had one but had to pass it on because of the weight.
  9. I remember reading a few years ago that Liam Gallagher "Resented being called a professional musician.I take that as a f*****g insult" he said.Dont worry mate,I doubt very much if anybody EVER considered you a musician even, unless of course you include banging a tambourine as being a musician.
  10. I couldnt make out that logo, and as usual the cameras spent precious little time on him. That seems to be the norm. Its as if theyre told 'see the bass player, dont bother with him, just focus on the rest of the band'.Thanx miles'tone
  11. Just watching The Nutty Boys. The bass player is playing what I thought was a Pino styled P-bass only its not.I cant make out the name on the headstock and its not the Fender shape.I'll tell you wot though. He's playing some tasty bass through a large Fender setup with a tone to die for. Some of their stuff is quite complex, chord structure wise.can anybody identify that bass?
  12. Fender 60s slab bodied Precision bass,.In this configuration.No more,no less.
  13. Whats the sweetest sound an accordian can make? 'SPLASH'.
  14. I've found, through trial and error that the combination you guys mention is the best overall.Theres definitely a punchier sound with the gain about 12 o clock and just using the Master to control overall volume.I find I'm having to keep the bass control at about 2 o clock to get decent bass.Im using the amp through a 1 x 15 Laney cab with Mids at about 9 o clock. What settings do you guys use? Bass is a HB MM 5 string clone.
  15. Or the other guy at the Cliff Richard concert who shouts "Hey Cliff, sing 'Itchy F4nny'.Cliff ignores him so he tries again."Cliff, give us 'Itchy F4nny mate".Cliff loses it and shouts back "I dont do any songs like that. Now stop asking" Guy goes "Sure you do,'Itchy F4nny,we dont talk anymore'.That one!"
  16. Like the guy at the Stevie Wonder concert.Shouts to Stevie "Stevie play a jazz chord" Stevie plays a couple on his keyboard but the guy shouts back "No! A jazz chord Stevie!" Stevie gets exasperated and shouts out "I dont know any more" The guy goes "Sure you do,You know ''A Jazz Chord,to say, I lovvvvvve you"
  17. This chap. You may have seen him about. The reason I lifted a bass aged 14.
  18. Who was the guy years ago who played a Zon bass and had at least 47 different D-Tuners on his headstock?Curly headed dudeDid a lot of melodic solos.Well like him,it was pleasant to listen to - for a while.CB is talented no doubt and a nice guy to boot but I could only listen to him for a short while.
  19. Another thing I've noticed today. When I took the Gnome to a recording session and used the DI out XLR,the body of the amp remained much much cooler than when I'm using it at home connected via the 1/4 inch jack to a 1x15 cabinet (8 ohm).when it gets noticeably hotter. Is this normal?
  20. After years of using an old school backline setup,my main aim was being loud enough to hear onstage.I never paid much attention to amp settings on my TE amp with 4x10 and 1x15 cabs.I was never into distortion or even effects for that matter. Its just something I noticed recently and thought 'is it that important?' I'm retired from live gigs now and am just using the Gnome for bedroom practice along with a Laney 1x15 cab.Cheers for the input.
  21. Just came into possession of a little Warwick Gnome amp and it just got me thinking.I usually use the gain up high and control overall volume with the Master,Is this the right way?Is there any advantage in trying it vice-versa?You know gain low, master high?Or is it a personal thing?
  22. One of his hits was entitled 'Do you wanna touch me (there)?' Says it all really.
  23. This.Looks as if the body has been stretched. It just looks well...wrong.Dont hate it,just dont like it.
