1. I agree. The Bb is right. It does clash with the guitar, which should be playing a B,but it still works as an instantly catchy bassline.
2.
Just a little tip for you but if you find something that is a bargain and fancy keeping it that way... don't tell the whole bass playing community on a public forum FYI-I'm not in the slightest bit interested in the bass, but I thought that perhaps some other BCer might be interested to know about it.You know.On the EBAY LINKS forum!Thanx for the 'tip' though.

4.
What a journey! cool you got both though! Just noticed it has a fender precision decal, I recognise it as I bought one of the same myself recently. I would take it off and get the right Jazz one. I'm sure I've still got the email/website address of this particular manufacturer (decal) give me a shout if you want too. andy
I'm glad my Bass is going to somebody who really wants it!The thing is,it really is a Precision, but I've seen a lot of comments both on this forum as well as Talkbass, that it can't be a P bass because it has J type pups.It has a P bass body, and scratchplate, albeit with different cutouts,so if nothing else,it's a conversation piece,a bit of an oddity if you like and I suppose a Jazz decal would add to that. But she's(all basses are female,by the way)definitely a Precision.
5. Everything OK bridge-wise?Does it happen on all strings,or just one?
6. http://www.rondomusic.com/product2071.html And not a bad price.

8. As in original post Waynester,£100 posted. It's become a millstone round me wotsit now.I just want rid.
9. Yeah,I understand what you are saying, guys, but when you've jammed with a guy, respected him as a fellow muso, and even regard him as a friend,it's a different story.Had it been some stranger,I wouldn't have entertained the idea. But there you go.As he said himself,he owes me one.But look at it this way,it gives you guys another chance to own this lovely thing.Come on.First £100.Its yours.Paypal welcome. You know it makes sense.
10. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=squier+p5 Remember this?A couple weeks ago?Guess what.I've got the blardy thing back again! The guy I sold it to came back to me with the story that he bought it for his 15 year old son,who has now taken a dislike to the overly wide neck.He asked nicely if I would buy it back for the same price. As i know the guy,and respect him as a fellow muso,I did.So its back up for sale.Yet again.Same price.Sigh............
11. Jase,I hunted through the book"The Fender Bass:an illustrated history" and could find no reference to such a beast.I must admit,it looks pretty sharp.Think I'll go for it!
12. I have FrankenJazz bass, sunburst, tort pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, the works.I really like this bass but I feel that the neck is not as good as it could be.I've seen a neck on the Bay,but heres the problem. It's maple, with maple fingerboard and dot inlays.Has anyone ever seen a Jazz with this combination.I'm trying to imagine what it might look like.Any sunburst Jazz with a maple fingerboard usually has block inlays, but I've never seen one with dots.Thoughts anybody? Is there anybody out there who's good at Photoshop who could provide a sort of preview?Cheers guys.
13. I'm sorry guys,to all who were interested in this bass,it is now sold.It went locally to fellow musician.Thanx for your interest though.
14.
do you have any more pics? and how much were the SD pickups?
Heres a couple more guys, this time with the SDs installed and the killswitch.I got the pups from a guy in the States on Talkbass.com.Cost me £40 s/h but are working fine. You can see what I mean by the (cough)modified headstock.
15.
Accuracy every tmie!
Made me smile
16. It's vastly overpriced.I bought one S/H of the Bay a year ago and paid £80 for it. PS I'm selling it now.
17. Normally if the wire is attached to the centre tag of the tone control,it should connect to the #1 tag on the volume control ie with the red pup lead, but the green wire seems to be over long for that,so I'm not sure.
18. I'm actually listening to my Short Wave radio. On 14195khz USB there is an Italian voice endlessly repeating what sounds like"Macaroni, bastardoni ,barchista!"I kid you not.Every now and then theres a burst of music over the top of him.Takes me back to my old CB days!
19. Looks like its perfectly OK Escholl.Thinman has put my mind at rest re the one volume control scenario, and also the pot type issue as well.I checked and it is a linear pot,so I've ordered an audio taper pot.Problem solved!Cheers guys.
20. Thanx Escholl but further to my query,I have installed the pot and now find the volume sweep is confined to the last 1/4 turn of the Volume control (neck pickup control). Also in series mode, the bridge pup control does not operate at all.In parallel mode everything is normal except for the aforementioned volume sweep problem.I may have got the modes mixed up as I'm not sure which is the default.Clear as mud?I followed the diagram from the Seymour Duncan website. Is the pot value critical.Pointers anyone?Ta!
21. Nice Jazz Marcus.I like the bridge you have there.Seems like the saddles are huge,a bit like Sadowsky.Tell you what,if you ever decide to change that bridge,PM me and I'll take that one off your hands.Good luck with the bass, but change the pickguard for a tort. It'll be perfect then.
22. His feedback isn't all that bad,and as regards the bass in question,it is the same bass as previously listed by him.Seems he was messed about by the previous buyer, for reasons that are all too obvious now, refunded him and got the bass back.I e-mailed him re the ply wood issue. He responded twice, but did not mention my comments on the subject.Anyway the bass is now withdrawn from sale.
