1. What is the main reason for a guitar lead to suddenly go microphonic? It's been fine for months and now, every move I make comes through lead and clear through my amp.Earthing problem possibly?
2. Welcome Pete. You'll enjoy your stay here.I only joined recently and there is a wealth of knowledge to be tapped on any aspect of Bass playing. I'm from your neck of the woods as well.Downpatrick,St Pats town!.
3. Thanx guys. It's still here at the minute but Ebay may be getting a call in the near future.
4. I want to install a series/parallel push pull pot (Geez what a mouthful!) on my Jazz bass.I've ordered the pot off Ebay but I've just noticed that the one I've ordered is 500K instead of 250.Will it make much of a difference or should I order the correct one now?
5. No takers?Right then it's up for sale,gig bag included.£100 posted.
6. I have a Squier Precision 5 which I have finally decided to part with due to the fact that the neck is too wide for my old arthritic hands. It's dark metallic Green in colour, white s/plate and has 2 Seymour D SJB5 pups installed.A killswitch has been fitted.Condition is very very good, with 1 or 2 minor dings.I would swap for a good Jazz neck, with hardware.PS - the headstock does NOT say Squier,it says something else, beginning with 'F'.Shhh!
7. Did anybody clock the Jazz bass on the same ebay page under 'More items from this seller' ...$49,500?????Jeez
8.
Don't buy Planet Waves cables. Those expanding bits on the jack break your input sockets eventually!! Too true. Our guitarist uses one and one night, when he was tuning up,his tuner captured the jack plug and point blank refused to let it go.We actually ended up smashing the tuner to bits, and even then, had to use a screwdriver to prise the jack plug from the tuners jack socket.Bloody Planet Waves!
9. Glad everythings OK Sean. Now repeat after me."I must be more careful"
10. It could well be just a fuse.Check that first and then if it's not that, well then..........There should be a fuse holder on the back of the amp somewhere.Oh,and remember to change the voltage selector to the correct settting,in case you do the same thing again.Good luck!
11. Nice job mate! Its amazing what a bit of elbow grease and dedication can do.She is looking good!
12. Just got a few free stereo patch leads of Andy.Nice guy to deal with.
13. Just watched the Eric Clapton Crossroads concert.Tal Wilkenfeld was on with Jeff Beck.I know, I know its an old clip, but I've only ever seen it on You Tube before,on a laptop as well! She can play, but she looked about 12 on that clip.
14.
Erm... don't think anyones gone for Charley Charles and Norman Watt-Roy.....Has anyone ever seen a tighter band than The Blockheads in full flow? +1 for Sly & Robbie
+1 For Norman and Charley in the Blockheads, but I've heard Norman with Steve Monti in Wilko Johnston's band.Just as tight!
15. I've got a practically brand new Behringer Ultra Flanger UF100 that I don't use.Anybody interested?£12 posted.
16. Just bought a Power Bank from Terry.A quick and courteous transaction.Cheers again mate
17. BRUNGED??? Honestly,I've never heard the like!! it's BRINGDED!Look what the postman BRINGDED me!
18. That's her!Thats the one.Thanx guys.
19. Thats very similar, except that Norms had a Badass 2 and there wasn't so much 'literature' on the headstock. It was more like a circular motif. But thats an amazing replica, right down to the gouge by the bridge pup.must look for that thread.
20. I've just been watching Norman Watt-Roy live at the blues festival in Downpatrick N.Ireland.He had to deal with a decrepid Trace Elliot set up which was defo causing him grief. He was with Wilko Johnston and he played a storm. He definitely is a character on stage but my god,can he play bass!Unfortunately they had to cut the set short because the rains came and it was becoming slightly dodgy on stage.(Outdoor gig if you hadn't already guessed). One thing. His bass was the usual pinky bronzy coloured Jazz but the neck wasn't a Fender neck. The headstock had shades of SX about it.It had a logo which I couldn't make out from where I was.Anybody shed a light?
21. Much as I can't be bothered with Winehouse and all the palaver about the "troubled" singer,4 years ago, when this was made, she actually looked quite presentable. Her hair was normal, she didn't have the weird eye makeup that she wears now,and most of all,she looked healthy. What is that you have to do to become "troubled"?You know, like Docherty, and Spears and the rest? Paul Rodgers has a fine voice, but why does he have to have the audience sing the chorus of every song he does, over and over again,on their own? Rant over.
22. Just watched Pino play his little heart out for nigh on 2 and a half hours. What a bassist! He handled all that was thrown at him with ease.I just thought that his wee head was going to fall off a coupla times.Good concert tho'.At the end I counted 19 Strats all going at once.Only one man missing.Mr Clapton. And so to bed...............
23.
I'd guess it's because it's through-body. I had this same problem on a Gibson Ripper copy - fortunately the bridge made it possible to string it normally. It does look a bit like it's got a 4-string set plus a single guitar string, though. Jon.
The fender V had a high 'C' as opposed to a low 'B'.
24. Google RB23110 and you'll find that the power supply is built in,or 'on board'.Its 9v at 300 Ma.Should be OK.
