Bonzodog - Have you got one of these new Hartke heads yet?
No not yet. I did read somewhere that the output was not to the level youd expect for 600w but appreciate a lot depends on what cabs you use. Going to try and see if i can find somewhere to try first
Just watched Tom Chaplin and could have sworn I heard a bass line on his anemic, middle of the road dirge. Buggered if I could see a bass player though...😳
I thought exactly the same

Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower, Count in
bonzodog replied to goingdownslow's topic in General Discussion
Getting the drums, bass and guitar to do the intro to going underground correctly is pretty hard too. -
The TX has only beem out in UK for a couple of weeks so you may struggle to find someone who has one yet. Im interested in trying one and i dont think the lack of EQ will be a problem. I like the Hartke shape function as that gives a whole host of sounds. I did read one review in the states about the TX where it was reported to be nowhere near as loud as youd expect for 600W.

Basslines you don't know why you struggle with
bonzodog replied to GarethFlatlands's topic in General Discussion
Ive never been able to crack the third part of the bass solo in my generation. This is frustrating as my band mainly play the jam and the who songs and weve had to leave this out until i can get the solo right. -
Mark Bedford - Madness... What strings did he use?
bonzodog replied to miles'tone's topic in General Discussion
It's mind blowing what he (and the rest of the band) achieved so young. They were still pretty much kids playing way beyond their years weren't they?
Ive often thought that too. So young to be writing such great music. Same goes for the jam. -
I have a squier vintage modified jazz and am very happy with it. Very light too. Then again ive never owned a MIM jazz

Bizarrely he was on loose women other day and could not speak very well. He claimed it was down to a trapped nerve and an inflammation of the tongue. Very bizarre

I wouldn't worry about the watts. It's the ohms you need to be sure on. I am sure the old hartke 210 are 8 ohm and you will need to ensure your other cab is 8ohm. That way it will be fine. If either cab is 4ohm you won't be able to do it. I used to love my old hartke 410 transporter cab with aluminium cones. Only sold it as it was heavy.

Zoom B1on user here too. Plug in my phone as the audio source and a pair of mediocre headphones and you're away. Best £30 I've spent.
Recently watched 'We are Twisted F****** Sister' Now that was a hard working bar band! Brilliant watch.
Yes its a great film

Just watched Janis-Little girl blue. A documentary about Janis Joplin. Really enjoyable film if you are a fan of hers or not.

I played bass in bands from 15 till 18 then swapped to guitar all through my 20s till I stopped playing. After marriage and starting a family I got asked to go back to playing in a band a few years ago but only vacancy was for a bassist . Within minutes it felt like I was back to what I enjoyed most and now wish I had continued as a bass player after my teens.
I'd have paid good money to see the Bonzos and Sly on the same Bill! Someone with a hell of a sense of humour must have paired them up. "Can blue men sing the whites or are they hypocrites?" and Canyons of your Mind: [Spoken]: This is the B side of our platter, sports fans. And I'm singing just for your coverted sequence. [Sung] In the canyons of your mind I will wander through your brain To the ventricles of your heart, my dear I'm in love with you again! 'Cross the mountains of your chest I will sticker Union Jacks To the forest of your cheek Through the holes in your string vest [Instrumental] [Spoken]:My darling, in my cardboard-coloured dreams (Ooh, cardboard-coloured dreams) Once again I hear your love (Ooh, ooh, ooh) And I kiss, yes I kiss your perfumed hair (But she's not there) The sweet essence of giraffe And each time I hear your name (Frying pan, frying pan) Oh! How it hurts (He's in pain) In the wardrobe of my soul (Oh, my soul) In the section labelled "shirts" (Aah) Ah! Oh!
Obviously being a fan my favourite one for sheer off the wall has to be my pink half of the drainpipe I have a sister in Toronto who's a nurse And I've had a bit of bother laying turf It's life, not books, that taught me all I've learned Ay-Ooop, in the t'oven my rice pudding's getting burned! Ere, have you seen the new attachment on me drill? I must have the cat put down, cause he's ill Many a drunken night listening to the bonzos

If the venue allows you to then a cheap haze machine makes the led lights so much better too.

I would not bother with the ones you mention on eBay. We use American DJ mega tripars and they are great. To add to them we bought 2 of those off ebay and they packed up after a few weeks. I cut the plugs off the end to fit IEC connectors and I couldn't belive how thin the wires were. Very cheap quality

SRM450 V3 / JBL PRX 612M ..others considered
bonzodog replied to fleabag's topic in Accessories and Misc
We use EV ZLX12p and they have a great sound but we only use them for vocals. We also bought a single 15" version to use as a monitor and that has an even broader sound. Very light too -
Now in stock at Gak and thomann. £375 seems a reasonable price so may get one next month.

I keep things very simple. Hartke LH500 with flat EQ into two fender rumble 112 V3 cabs. Small enough to fit into small pubs but loud enough too. Did an outdoor gig last week with no PA support and it sounded lovely across the field. No pedals at all
-
With functions you have to be flexible otherwise don't do them. Joe public have no idea how a PA works so they wouldn't think of needing to ask. As for people saying to pull out is very harsh. This is a couples big night and to ruin it because of their naivety is wrong.

I don't see a real problem. She will probably just need one mic and a line in for her backing source. Main thing is to tell her you will set up her levels so there is no danger of her using the equipment wrongly. I used to be a solo singer and did many weddings with bands using their gear. I did always speak to them first though. If her performance adds to the atmosphere of the night then it's good all round.

Any of you cover/pub bands run with two drummers ?
bonzodog replied to Les's topic in General Discussion
I think this is why you don't see any Adam and the ants tribute bands. Two drummers would be hard to get in a pub.
