Listen up Basschat ...... We want woolly hats !
That's a possibility of course, but there's a lot else to think about first. Even if we want to do this "at cost" so that nobody is out of pocket and nobody makes a profit, Basschat and its logo actually belong to someone (Ped & Kiwi, ectually) so it's their call anyway. If Basschat wants to use this as a fund-raiser then the whole thing would need to be under their control, and it would be up to them how to deal with any risk element. Given the semi-serious comments about other Basschat-branded stuff (fleeces, scarves, etc.) and the fact that BC t-shirts have existed for ages, there could also be a case made for creating a Basschat on-line shop. Suddenly we're getting into much choppier water ...
Ah Ok I thought it had already been put to "the powers that be" but yeah is there call without a doubt -
The annoying thing is that we could get (say) 100 of these hats made up & embroidered with the Basschat logo for roughly £400, which is hardly the end of the world. That would be 100 of the same design, same colour, one-size-fits-all, and stop asking if we can get an XXXL with a peak in purple just for you cos we can't, OK? http://www.btcgroup....s-hats.html?p=1 The devil, of course, is in the detail.

Postage & packing would damn near double the cost of each hat by the time it's delivered to the end user.
Not all 100 would sell, so assumptions about unsold stock would have to be factored into the pricing.
Someone would have to actucoally run the show, deal with the orders, fund the initial make-up, etc.
From a purely business, bean-counting point of view, you'd be looking to sell these for £10 delivered. At that price-point I know that I'd buy one, but I wonder how many others would actually dip their hands in their pockets for this ...
If the hats are a go can we not all pay up front in to a kind of central kitty and if enough money goes in to order say 100 hats they have been paid for already no one is out of pocket blah blah blah -
it's a stealth bass at the moment, black everything, but a new wiring loom to wire the pickups in series is to be installed, with a chrome bell plate. I really dig the racing stripes though, I want! Not in that colour though...
Derrr silly me I re-read it lol how about leave it in stealth and just put some white transfer type block inlays on the board they look kinda cool but have no idea what they are like in the flesh so to speak.
If that bass above were mine, i'd get rid of the stripes and stick a black scratchplate on it
Think I would also it would look cool as a stealth bass I might even put a bright green in your face pick guard on it if it was mine but Mr discreet will only tell me it is against the law or potentially gay lol

I have been doing research on Tonerider pickups for a bass and have read tons of very positive reviews for them on Bass and guitar they seem very beefy and are not bank busters
Depends, I knew scales without knowing them if that makes any sense. I can play a fair few, but only really know technically what a couple are. I really should knuckle down and learn some properly. But I can hear if what I`m playing is right or not so that`s the "knowing but not knowing part".
Pretty much this I am 99% book and self taught I really don't know much about scales and theory but I do sometimes find myself using them without knowing at the time I think when I am happy with my playing which will probably be never lol I am going to read up and learn about the theory side up stuff properly as not knowing all about it is kind of embarrassing when your mates speak all "techy" and you don't really know what they are on about and kind of blag your way through it, wellI do anyway.
To put all our minds at ease ... I had an disappointing issue with a pedal I purchased from a BC'er and had to eventually get a refund. He wished to see the receipt so he could even refund the amount I paid to get the pedal back to him (whata' gent) ..For some unknown reason photos just won't loads in my PM's so this was my means of making sure I got all my money back! ..Glad to see some humourhas sprung from such a frustrating ordeal..
Silly me I thought the receipt said it was for 5 packs of Durex and an industrial size can of Vaseline but now I know the truth ...Just goes to show the trouble unclear scans can make lol

Practice time: Convergent or Divergent?
Thunderbird replied to JapanAxe's topic in Theory and Technique
I think I am 50/50 on this as I do set myself a goal to learn a song and if there is a bit in the song I just cant get I noodle and mess about for 5 or 10 mins as if I kept trying to play the bit I was struggling with I get angry with myself so I have learnt to leave it mess about noodling and then go back to what I was trying to learn. Some days when I really don't feel like playing I force myself to go and play the 12 bar blues a few times just to keep my knackered hands in check lol -
I'm very sorry - both these colour schemes are illegal under EU law.
How about black with the BC logo in HUGE F off tort colours just for you ya know ya like it lol .....but seriously could we maybe have a poll to choose a colour scheme if the hats do become available? -
I had some Elixers on an Ibanez I had many moons ago seem to remember they were good they were a bit sticky for want of a better word even after cleaning they still felt sticky but in truth I got the bass used so had no idea how long they had already been on there or if they had been abused slightly off topic I was given some Ashdown Engineering strings a few years back they came in a tin a seem to recall I liked them but have never seen any for sale any one know if they were promo give a ways or something? sorry for the slight thread hijack

I have a horrible feeling that when you spray it the "spray" paint will react with the emulsion and melt it I think it has some thing to do with emulsion being water based I cant remember off the top of my head, You can pick up cheap cans of auto primer in places like Poundland etc myself I would rather use the proper primer etc as a good paint job is all in the prep, your sanded emulsion may look great now but when you start putting the colour on you will see every slight brush stroke dimple and imperfection its just not worth skimping I cant stress enough that it is all in the preperation. This primer is grey OK for dark colours but just to show it can be bought cheap http://www.poundland.co.uk/grey-primer-spray-paint-300ml
Years ago, there weren't any bass effects in the early days of sabbath. For example , nib was probably a Wah and fuzz box. Could be wrong tho'
That is kind of along the lines I was thinking of Ray I think I am going to have to experiment with this one might try some tube overdrive and tinker with my gain settings I'm a gonna nail this mother lol

I did have some for sale but I have a few left me you PM me your details I will send you some picks in varying gauges that I have left for free and if you want to you could make a donation to Basschat
