Peavey project is kinda on hold for a while due to a new purchase so I am just researching parts etc and colour schemes but I have got it in my head that what ever I do its got to be a metallic orange colour with possibly a white guard or maybe a black guard and black hardware so let the research commence lol
A trike would not cost tons more than a scooter or small bike? Really? I've ridden motorbikes for over 40 years and wouldn't even consider carrying a bass on a solo bike.
Thinking about it yeah I guess a trike would cost a bit more, and I could not agree with you more carrying a bass on a solo bike I think its a big no no -
Thats a cracking looking bass in great condition yours is none to shabby either Gary you lucky lucky boys lol

If you have a car licence but no car you could get a trike would not cost tons more than a scooter/small bike also carrying a bass etc etc on a scooter can be classed as a hazardous load by some insurance companys I know this sounds pathetic but this happened to my mate was carrying his snooker cue sling style on his back he and to cut a long story short he had a bump and got no payout as he was deemed to have an unsecured loan.So might be worth thinking about this if you have an expensive bass. As for the DI box etc sorry I dont know. Good luck with this -
Unlikely, as the Epiphone Ripper is bolt on and has a different shaped headstock - a lot of work to replicate.
I didn't know that you learn something new everyday So I presume it is an original bass that's been "pimped up" for want of a better word? Well it didn't sell seller may relist it at a lower price?

Nice looking Bass I dont know if you paid too much or not but certainly a very nice bass
-
I guess it depends on what model it is and how much you paid for it? but if you are happy with the bass and the price you paid does it matter? I would think over time it could only go up in value? or at best you would break even.

Hi Mike, I decided I should post a sensible answer I did a bit of googling and thought this may help you? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f18/article-guide-defret-your-bass-guitar-311434/

Could it be an Epiphone reissue? with Gibson decals etc lots of faker basses on the bay at the minuite, whatever it is its a bit of a bitsa

Thanks guys I might try her on slinkys like mine and go from there but the Funkmasters sound good I will check them out Ok after a bit of internet searching I have changed my mind again lol I think I may try some Warwick red label strings in a medium gauge as Charic suggested as they seem to have good reviews and are not a bad price (£13) or I may try some medium gauge rotosounds but I think its gonna be a toss up between those two for now

I think ebay would be the place to try? or maybe maplins?
-
I think it is done by placing the bass on its side then positioning a large chisel between the neck and fret then whacking it with a lump hammer when all the frets are removed just smooth the neck out with an angle grinder. lol Sorry for my silliness couldn't resist but seriously I dont have a clue

Hi all, I have just purchased a nice Yammy bass for Mrs Thunderbird (thanks Andy) and I am thinking the strings on it will be to "heavy" for her so what is the very lightest bass strings you can get for sensible money say £20 ish but the cheaper the better lol. I myself use light super slinkys and like them but is there any other brands worth checking out? Thanks in advance

Jesus christ near 7 grand its really not that nice lol
Peavey Milestones are not too bad for a cheap bass. I still have the one that originally got me into playing bass. it has a relatively thin neck which i like and is quite easy to mod. The pick up routes are standard size so you can pop most things in there, as is the bridge so can easily be changed and the neck pocket can fit a fender neck on. The only thing that I found to be a problem was that the tuners don't have the same base plate as any of the hipshot ones, so you would have to drill new holes if you want to change them! The one i have has been through a few changes in its life starting as standard blue one with white pickguard. it then had Seymour Duncan 1/4 Pounders added and was resprayed camouflage colour with tread-plate pickguard. also added strap locks and block inlay stickers! This was for when i was in a heavy metal band. sorry for the poor picture it's the only one i could find! And recently it has been overhauled again since that band ended. It is now Olympic white with Black tread-plate pickguard and has been defretted!! Any questions just ask! Simon
Thanks for that simon thats a good pointer in the right direction for me cheers mate (off to ebay lol)
