Thanks for the answer I agree trimming the silks back is a nightmare
-
I'm just wondering if anybody knows why nearly all cheap bass strings have silk windings at the ends and also some quite expensive ones have windings too I always thought it was done on expensive strings to make them look better also does anybody else find strings with windings on a bit of a pain cos sometimes the windings don't like certain bridges or nuts etc Hope that all made sense lol

I always buy online or second hand from here I wouldn't dream of going to a shop and trying a bass out and then buying it online from another retailer I think that is really out of order
-
I have 9 at present but only really play one of them in all honesty I could get by with one as I don't gig or anything but I do enjoy cleaning my basses and tinkering with them and I do like having a collection lol

I do but I did not put it very well what I mean is I can see why people would copy Fenders and Ricks ETC but dont understand why they would copy a low end bass with a stinky poo copy I wasnt referring to the Greco as the stinky poo bass as I had a Greco P and it was a good bass that make sense?

Cant see the point of making a copy/fake of a cheapo shitty bass in the first place....good spot

Condition preference when buying a used Fender bass
Thunderbird replied to bassaussie's topic in General Discussion
If buying a bass I want to get one that is in top condition I dont gig so dont class my basses as work tools but I am quite precious about my basses I like to keep them clean and maintained
