Here’s an example of one of my charts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JUv9mUwF_gYEeZ7vZVZNfaWeT7sbSmKl/view?usp=drivesdk Black Cow by Steely Dan I try to keep the form/structure/layout as neat as I can. Always favour new sections starting on the left, as opposed to mid-way through a line. A lot easier to find where you are if you get lost, as you can just scan the left side of the page as opposed to every bar. Double bar lines at the end of each ‘section’. Labels of Chorus/Verse/Bridge etc. I mean I definitely am not an authority on writing charts - I learnt the same way you have. But after doing it for a while you pick up on little tips and tricks that help you - thinking in the way described earlier (what you’d want to be presented with on a gig) is a big help. The aim of reading is to make it easy for the player to play a tune they may never have heard, with little/no rehearsal time. You need just the right amount of information on the page. Not too much to overwhelm the player, but not too little that the player is left in the dark with how to approach a song they’ve never heard. Feel free to PM me if I can be of any help!

THIS!! Layout etc is just as important as the rest of the info on the page.

It’s a cool pedal. Not entirely sold on it, but in all fairness it hasn’t really been put through its paces yet, so there’s still time!

Hastily slapped this together as I won't get a chance now before Saturday's gig, and I wanted to get the Morningstar ML5 wired up. Only wired up two loops, and will be spending tomorrow programming all the patches for the board, but I can see some pretty cool possibilities here already! Bass > Cali76 > ML5 > HX Stomp Loop C - Aguilar Octamizer Loop E - Dr Scientist Dusk HX Stomp FX Loop - Pickle/Muff DIY build (Under the top tier) MIDI chain - MC8 > Hx Stomp > ML5 > Dusk Mission Expressionator connects the Dunlop Mini Expression to the Stomp, MC8, and Dusk Powered by 2 GigRig Generators (One for the Stomp, the other for everything else)

Rack mounted looping & switching configs? tap dance avoidance...
Higgie replied to Andy Damerum's topic in Effects
The ML5 only has 5 loops, so depends whether you need individual control of all the pedals. It looks to me as if MIDI is the way to go for your setup. -

How many pedals do you have? Morningstar MC6 or 8 with an ML5 would work. ML5 and all pedals in the rack, then a single midi cable out to your playing position with the MC6 or 8. -
You are correct. If the chord is still C, and the bass player is simply playing an E underneath it, then yes it would be C 1st Inversion, which you would see written as C/E (C over E). Cm6 is another chord entirely.

The perfect transaction. Quick communication and postage, item exactly as described. Happy days all round when dealing with Peter. Thanks again pal!

Here's another I almost forgot about. My Dargie Delight fretless SR5 with John East 3 band pre and Nordstrand MM5.3 pickup, with an Aguilar Octamizer for good measure!

Any fans of Incubus here?

Here's a few I've been involved in over the last couple of months: Labour of Love: The rest I did the video editing for too:

If all you're doing with the EQ block is cutting 50Hz, might I recommend you look at the Global EQ and do it there? Saves you doing it on every patch, and gives you another block to play with!

Plug something in then! 😛

The latest offering from Totally Toto: Enjoy!

You can invert the polarity which I think should solve your problem. Don’t have my Stomp handy but it’s in the global settings somewhere for the external footswitches

I use the weeper model. Haven’t got my Stomp handy for the settings, but can be cool to put it on Path B so that your wah is blended with your clean sound for no loss of low end!

My Toto tribute band took a stab at “Dave’s Gone Skiing” Separate audio and video recording is a must. Pretty sure we all used iPhones for the video. Bass is recorded direct from my REDDI. Then sync’d up afterwards in the video editor. I can highly recommend Adobe Premiere Pro.

Hi all! My Toto tribute band “Totally Toto” decided to do a lockdown video as we’re all missing playing together and doing gigs. We decided to tackle the instrumental “Dave’s Gone Skiing” Next on the list is Pamela, that will be released shortly. In the meantime, enjoy this:

Is the output jack wired to the wrong lug of the footswitch? Should be soldered to the middle lug of the right hand side, looks like its connected to the bottom one?

The Thumpinator IS a HPF. The only difference is you don't have control of the frequency with the Thumpinator like you do with the Broughton.

Thanks for the advice - I’ll definitely try it out!

Time to dust off the old soldering iron! Got a load of pcbs left over from 2010/11 that I never finished because my iron broke. With all the time on our hands now I’ve decided to get back into it full pelt. I’ve ordered all the components for: 3x Klon Centaur 2x Woolly Mammoth 1x Fuzz Factory 2x DAM Sonic Titan 1x Catalinbread SFT 1x Fulltone OCD 1x Analogman King of Tone I’ve always wanted to have a proper go after building a couple kits 10 years ago. So i’m going to be doing it all from scratch (besides etching the boards), ie, waterslide graphics, drilling the enclosures etc. Will post updates as I go.
