I find the Crowther Prunes and Custard pedal gets very close to the Deeper Underground sound.

When I blew up my iAmp 600, Gary at EA was very helpful in sourcing the replacement parts, and even offered to speak with my local tech about how to fix it! Thanks for the info guys I think I will go for a good hard ebony/maple neck. Still not sure pre-amp wise, but I figure that will be the last thing I put in anyway, so that will give me time to think. As it's a fretless J, I'm wondering if I should have a P pickup routed in, between the Jazz pickups, and some kind of switch so I could have fretless P and fretless J tones It's a tempting idea, but then I'd have no excuse to buy/put together a fretless P

Something I like to do is put my tuner/volume pedal before it. That way you can play a percussive bass part, and bassline, then mute the signal, plug in a guitar/keyboard/whatever, add some chords, then switch back to bass for some noodling, hehe.

Completely different beasts, and the original comes out on top every time. The Grinder has a list price of $400/£200, but that isn't street price, so it will hopefully come down a bit. The AF-9 loses no low end at all in my experience. It's my 2nd favourite filter ever, after the Mutron (that I currently own 2 of). If I didn't have a spare, it would be the AF-9 as my back up filter for sure.

The Flatliner does weigh quite a bit, but it has no hiss, and is the best power supply I've ever used. Fantastic piece of equipment! The best supply going if you need a couple of different voltages etc.

The Meatball goes for about £400+ nowadays. The Original Mutron will you get you the 70's squelch, as that is the very unit that defined the sound. Usually around the same price as the Meatball though! The Maxon AF-9 is the only filter readily available that even comes CLOSE to the Mutron - I would go for one of those if you can. The Auto Q is great, but isn't what you are looking for I don't think. The FX25B is sh*te, the original (FX25) is better - But still lacks a bit of bottom end.

Another happy user of the Headrush E2 here... Really simple to use - I believe KT Tunstall used this on her performance on Later with Jools Holland. Really shows off how easy it is to loop with this pedal, its great.

I'm tempted to order just for the paint job! Sounds like it will be awesome, looking forward to reviews
