2.
I like filters after a bit of dirt too, but I have the choice of before AND after. Obviously the pedal is designed to respond to your dynamics, and you loose a lot of your dynamics if you apply distortion. I wasn't talking about a standard TB loop. It could be a TB loop where the output of the pedal is always connected, and the footswitch just turns the input on and off. For example, I use an AB switch to switch between two loops, but I use (don't laugh) a double headphone adaptor to merge back the two loops, so that i'm only switching the inputs, and I get my trails. I was actually thinking of a little timer circuit on a 2 footswitch 1 loop pedal. I might draw it up, but I probably haven't got time.
Ah I see. Cool idea.
3. BigRedX - Cheers for the link. It does sound like a very versatile Pre. Intriguing. It's quite alot of money though, will have to see about it when I get some spare cash. Thanks again everyone for your input.
4.
Is the EBS IQ a dynamic envelope follower? You should have that first if so IMHO Do you not have the DD20 in a loop because of the way the delay decays when you turn off a patch (I don't know if it does this)? I bet someone could design you a box to put it in a loop so it wont suck your tone until it's on, but when you switch the loop off you still get the decay at the end.
The EBS is a dynamic envelope follower yes, but I wouldn't put it before anything. I like my filters after gain so you get the big squelchy synth sound Also, I'm pretty sure that making a TB loop to stop tone sucking WILL NOT allow trails to come through...
5. I hate EMA. A guy at my college used to get it, because his parents had split up, but his Dad owns a bank in Ireland and has money coming out of his ears! I applied to get EMA for the second year of sixth form as my parents split up, but was told I wasn't elligible for it because it was based on "last year's earnings". That's all well and good, when half the rich kids are sitting around with £30 extra in their pockets, because their parents split up before mine did!!
6.
PS Higgie, don't you hate it when a couple of clowns hijack your thread
Yeah, bloody gits.... Thanks for the info Dr. Dave, and Chris, as I'll be using roundwounds, I'm quite heavily swaying towards Ebony, and you've helped put me a bit further towards it! Cheers for your input CK, but how much would a Graphite neck with an Ebony fingerboard cost?
7.
I've just realised that you meant ebony board on maple neck, not ebony or maple boards. Thought it was odd you considered them similar Maple boards are also extremely cool and should be an option above Chris
Heh, yeah, that's what I meant! Cheers Chris. So which P do you prefer, the Ebony or Maple Fretless?
8. Cheers guys - some useful info here What's so good about the ACG Pre? Any more?
9.
I'm assuming that from your options you rate ebony and maple as similar. Is that the case? Chris
Chris - Nope, it's just that both my DJ4 and 5 have maple fretboards so I wanted a change hehehe BigRedX - I shall add another option, thanks for the info. Bilbo - Thanks for your input. I'll be using roundwound strings I would think, so Ebony does look to be the forerunner to me, at present!
10. Hi guys, I'm putting together my first fretless. I currently have an Arctic White, Ash Warmoth Jazz body, with Nordstrand NJ4SV pickups installed. Just wondering what kind of fingerboard to have, or if I should go Graphite. Also not sure about the Pre. I have J-Retro's in both my DJ4 and 5, but not sure it's the best option for fretless. What do you guys think? Cheers, James.
11. Brand new, with box and everything, all manuals - Not a scratch. £130 posted. Can get pictures if you need them, but honestly, it's not been out of the box more than twice, and looks like it's never been played. Cheers.
12.
higgie id like to have sex with your DJ4
Well she's getting all the loving she needs, thanks
13.
Will take pics of my gear over the weekend, as there will be a new acquisition to the family
I'm 18, and have been playing for around 4 and a half years now. Here are pics of my setup, as promised: Boss OC-2, Dredgetone Angler (On loan from Toasted), Fuzz (Toasted put this one together for me), One of my Mutron III's, an Akai Headrush E2, and a Korg DT-10BK, powered by a Burkey Flatliner on a Diago Showman Board. This is just my current setup as I've sold all my patch leads, but havent bought an George L's yet. Lurking just out of shot at the top are: Catalinbread Serrano Boost, MXR M-117R Flanger, Visual Sound Visual Volume, Digitech WH-1 Whammy. My other Mutron III, Akai Deep Impact, Mutron Phasor (not working), Guyatone SV-2, Demeter Compulator (custom paint job), Tonefactor Hellbaby, Dunlop 105Q, Analogman Mini Chorus with Deep Mod, Loopmaster Tap-Tempo switch (I use this for scrolling down the presets on the Deep Impact). The guitar is just a cheap AXL Les Paul copy, I hardly play it. My Babies!! Lakland DJ4 and DJ5, both with Aero Pickups and J-Retro Pre-Amp. And last but not least: My Rig - EA iAmp 600, through a pair of 1st Gen MarkBass cabs - 115, and 410. Thunderous
14. I am a veteran Skate shoe Stomper. The only time I ever hit two pedals at the same time, I was drunk.
15. *tut tut* No introductory post, just straight into the For Sale section. It's a forum, not eBay.
16.
Has anyone used the Subdecay Echobox? From the mp3s I've heard, I like it. Just wondered if anyone has any opinions on it?
Tayste will be along shortly
17. Wow. Gorgeous. Would love to start learning upright bass, but funds + time dictate otherwise Have a free bump, for a gorgeous EUB
18. Sold pending payment.
19. Sorry to get your hopes up!
20. Can't believe this hasn't sold. Amazing delay, at an equally amazing price!! Free bump Good luck with the sale.
21. I've been experimenting trying to fret notes without having my thumb on the back of the neck. It feels weird to say the least On another note, my left thumb actually bends backwards 90 degrees at the middle joint (not the joint where your thumb meets your hand). It's completely painless, so I don't even really know it's happening when I play.
22.
Hi Toasted, where would I find such a thing to have a listen? And how about price?
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=17845 Et voila I have one of these too, and they are awesome, awesome compressors.
23. Ah man Sounds like my perfect band!! Shame I'm in London. I wouldn't be able to travel as much as would be required though. Good luck in your search, if you ever relocate to London gimme a shout
