2. Here's a link to the original sale thread with pic: http://basschat.co.u...6-guyatone-br2/ Literally just received this about 20 minutes ago. Bought on a whim, and while it's a very cool sounding pedal, between all my other filters (Subdecay Prometheus, Aguilar Filter Twin, Mutron III, DOD FX25 etc) I can already nail most of these tones. It's also worth mentioning that Justin Chancellor from Tool has one of these on his board, and it sounds great with Fuzz. Reminds me of Flea's filter sound on his instructional DVD at certain settings too. It's in perfect condition, and comes in it's original box, with all documentation. Looking to get back what I paid, so £50 incl. postage. *SOLD*
3. Thanks guys! I can't wait! I'll get Jon to keep me updated with pics and will post them up here
4. Yeah I got another one off the back of the first one, so I figured why not?
5. Finally caved. I love my 4 string Shuker Jazz so much, that I've sorted out a 5 string version to be built. I've asked Jon to keep everything as close as possible to the 4 string, just with the obvious adjustments that need to be made for the extra string. Here's the specs: 5 string J bass classic 34" scale 21 frets 45 mm nut width 18mm string spacing 20.5mm neck depth at 1st fret 22,5mm at 12th maple neck maple board two way truss rod carbon fibre reinforcement medium frets black f/board dots (standard layout) black 2mm side dots satin neck lacquer (vintage tint) bone nut Normal wind tuners - gotoh alder body (traditional shape) polyester basecoat Olympic White colour coat villex 5 string J pickups vol, balance, mid, treble cut Brown Tortoiseshell pickguard Chrome control plate with black knobs chrome hardware gotoh 5 string bridge Always wanted a nice 5 string Jazz (had a couple of DJ5's and while they were great instruments, they just didn't work for me) and so I reasoned the best thing to do would be to get the builder of the 4 string Jazz I have that I love so much to build me a 5 string version! I struggled to decide on the finish/pickguard combo, but I think white/tort will go nicely with the maple fingerboard All going to plan this should be underway in the next couple of months!
6. Glad to see you're still using the Baby Quasar Sk8
7. £470 collected or £490 shipped anyone?
8. Fender US quality Jazz for 500 quid shipped anyone?
9. Pics added bump. Would also be willing to split if there's enough interest in the bits!
10. Could really do with some cash. £500 shipped. £650 with brand new Moses graphite neck and mounting kit, never been drilled.
11. This is my perfect gig! But unfortunately I am away on a Cruise liner until September
12. I'd love this. If only I wasn't skint...May be in touch in a couple weeks if it's still here! Cheers James
13.
Ahh thats how it works is it-fuzz before filter. I'll be sure to try that out later. thank's for that nice vids on you tube btw.
No probs I like to use Fuzz before Filter, but there's no "correct" way to do it! It's up to you to see what sounds best. Thanks for the compliment on my videos too
Still liking my FT-2! What's the thoughts on using this with a fuzz? Filter <-- Fuzz or Fuzz <-- Filter?
I think this particular Filter sounds great with a Fuzz in front of it, but again, it's all down to experimentation and seeing what works best for you!
14. Very cool Jake. As Shep said, well thought out, practical, and tidy. Good show old chap
15.
Similarly to Higgie's case, this is the one that started it all for me (Stingray-wise): not merely the brother, but the TWIN of Higgie's bass!!! Same year, same colour, same birdseye, same clear pickguard.....
Wow! Cool that we both have the same bass virtually. What's the Serial No. on yours? Just wondering how close together they were built! I've also got a matching Fretless but with 3 band EQ and unlined Pau Ferro board - The serial numbers are literally only 300 odd apart!
16. I like a Fuzz before my filters. I find Big Muffs seem to work pretty well for synthy vibes. But basically, no, you don't need any certain fuzz pedals. Pedals like the 3Leaf GR/Meatball etc that have an effects loop basically do so, so that your clean signal will be "triggering" the filter, without your dynamics being destroyed by effects such as Fuzz etc. The Chunk pedals use a similar system, but they can just be linked with a cable, as they were designed together, to work together. It's a pretty cool idea, and can be used for other purposes, like sending a mic'd kick drum into the input of the pedal, and plugging your bass into the return of the loop, so your bass will only be filtered when the kick drum triggers the filter.
17. My first Stingray was Trans Orange and it was gorgeous. I am therefore voting for Orange.
18. I've recently turned onto D'Addario after using DR strings for quite some time and they are absolutely brilliant. I know a few Techs/Luthiers who won't use any other strings. Probably the most "Consistent" strings I've used. Not had a bad set/string at all. Although to be fair to DR, when I had a duff string they sent me a single free of charge, and because it took so long to turn up, they actually sent me another full set, which I thought was fantastic of them.
19. Andy is a gent to deal with - Just bought an Incubus transcription book from him. It arrived promptly, exactly as described, and the communication was brilliant. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again. Thanks mate James
20. Bob bought my Stingray from me - We discussed a part ex deal, and virtually as soon as I'd made my mind up, the cash was with me, and the pedal turned up the next day. He's an absolute blinder to deal with folks, so don't hesitate to deal with him. Cheers mate, hope you enjoy the Bass! James
21. John lives on the same street as me, and I can totally vouch for him being an absolute diamond. No worries here folks - John is the real deal!
