1. Cheers mate, I'll let you know when it arrives!
2. Got my Subdecay Quasar DLX in the post yesterday - Awesome pedal. I knew it was a keeper as soon as I plugged it in, so I thought I'd better make it in PhotoShop for my Virtual Board project thingy. Enjoy! 3. Never used the Emma unit unfortunately. But good job on scoring an FT-2! How do you like it so far?
4. The best I could do would be £730 with the MM Hardcase and postage. Where are you based? Cheers
5. Ok, so I have 3 Short comfort Strapps that I'd like to trade for long ones, or will sell for £20 each inc. P+P. Buy 2 or all 3 and we can work out a deal! All in good condition, although they are used, and not new. Brand new unopened 5 string set of Green Neon DR strings, 45-125. £33 incl. P+P, or Trade for DR/D'Addario 5 string sets. Looking for Roundwounds, medium guage. I can take pics of the straps if required, although they just look like normal Comfort Strapps. Cheers
6.
That was fast
That's what she said
7. Cheers mate, that'd be helpful. I think you may be right about the Rays. Why is it whenever I go to sell something it's not in favour any more
8. Why has this not sold? A little while ago every Teal Stingray in sight was getting snapped up. I'm pretty sure my asking price is fair?
9. I use a Fuzz (Swollen Pickle Clone) and a Filter (Subdecay Proteus) set with the depth all the way down, so the frequency knob acts like a wah pedal. I leave it open so it accentuates the hi-mid/treble end of the spectrum and blend that whole thing with my clean signal. Sounds the nuts!
10. Sold pending payment.
11. I went down to the Bass Gallery today and guess who happened to be there? Non other than Sheldon Dingwall himself! What a nice guy. We had a long chat, and he let me demo the 5 string Super P, as well as one of the Combustion series and I've got to say, WOW. I must admit, I've always thought of fanned frets as a gimmick. They look pretty cool, but I didn't really appreciate the benefits until I played one. I was absolutely astounded. The tone was absolutely gorgeous, and I found them so easy to play, and it was by far the lightest 5 string I've ever had the pleasure of picking up. If I could afford one, I'd buy one. ASAP. Seriously good basses. Thanks again Sheldon for producing such wonderful instruments, and for the kind comments about my playing! James
12. 2 Days left on eBay bump.
13. Bump. £700 incl. Gator case and postage?
14. Cheers Pete...Is indeed a cracking bass, and is indeed a giveaway price! Bump.
15. Apparently the non-specific bass version (The BF-2) is just as well loved on Bass so either one would probably do! The BF-3 is apparently not as good, but I haven't tried one so that's not a very good opinion to go by
16. Hi all For sale is a custom colour (only one that I know of) Subdecay Baby Quasar Phase Shifter. It's red instead of blue/purple, and in overall pretty good condition, although some of the print is scuffed on the front. One of the best Phasers available for Bass, it has Rate, Depth, Voice, and Frequency controls so is pretty versatile for it's size. It comes complete with box and manual. It takes a standard 9v centre -ve power supply. Haven't got any pictures at the moment as I'm just heading out, but here is a truly appauling shot of it on my old board next to the Analogman Chorus (Back row, 2nd from left). Find out more about it here. Asking £85 + postage. Cheers James
17.
sounds flangey to me, it has a sort of 'metallic' swirl tone in the upper frequencies. I hear phasers as being a bit more 'woody'.
Yep. Great way of describing it. The Flanger has always had a kind of metallic sound to my ears, with Phasers always sounding a lot more "organic". I currently don't have a Flanger and have been asked to learn this for a gig, I'm having to use my Phaser but it does't sound as good as it does with my Dad's Boss BF-2B. That thing really nails the sound IMO. Can be found pretty cheaply second hand too!
18. Flanger without a doubt!
19. Yeah currently only my Fretless has an MM4.2 in it, but I used to have one in the first Stingray I had. Personally I find the tone a little bit clearer and defined, and I found it eliminated the "Dead G string" problem that Stingrays seem to suffer from where you can't hear it as opposed to the other strings. What I was thinking of doing is taking the 4.2 out of my Fretless and putting it in my new 89 Fretted, and then buy the MM4.4 for all the coil switching options, and put that in my Fretless with a 2band EQ, but I'm thinking it might be a lot less hassle to just leave it as a 3EQ - I think the mid control might be more of an asset on the Fretless.
20. £700 including postage bump.
