1. If only I had one! I've had 2 in the past. Sold my first one because I didn't use it. Bought another because I just loved the sound. Then sold it again as I found I could get close enough with a combo of a few other pedals I have. Unless you'd be interested in a trade for an old Boss CE-1? - The very first Boss pedal and the best Chorus/Vibrato ever made!
2. Sharp! Yes exactly what I was getting at. And I can definitely see how a lack of a bass amp could hinder the tone. Mine was recorded straight into Logic without any post production too, but I did have compression and a few bits of eq/tone shaping coming from other pedals along the way. Valid point about the keys - that's what I was trying to get at, in that I was more trying to emulate the actual bass part than replicate the keys. I'm gonna try to get a better sound this evening and record it - try to get something that accurately covers both the bass tone AND the synth sound at once.
3. When I listen to the record I hear a really compressed bass with virtually no attack and very little treble, and a synthy flavour mixed in, so I intentionally tried to get a quite squashed and muffled sound to try and get my bass to sound like the actual bass on the track, and then add my approximation of the synth sound over the top. I get what you mean about the tracking and fuzz, yours does sound great, but I think it sounds a little too "focused" (really struggling for a better word to describe it...a bit too "concise" maybe). I had my TLC set quite squashy, into the Cream Pie for a little bit of edge. The Aguilar Octamizer with the clean tone all the way down to get a fat wooly sound, and the octave tone set about 1 o'clock (just to the synthier, rather than fatter, side of the tone control) into the X-Blender which has a BYOC Swollen Pickle clone and Subdecay Proteus in the loop.
4. Try Sound cloud! It's easy and free. I was just mucking around with some of my pedals and came across this sound...I know it's not perfect but I think it would work well enough live: Deeper Underground
5.
Is that a Modulous ?
Yeah. Modulus Flea bass. Obviously there's a lot of debate about tone being in the fingers, but having the same bass and overdrive pedal will undoubtedly help
6. Says "Access denied" for me when I try to listen to your link!
7. 442 Red sold pending payment.
8. I have a few pedals but not much else I'm afraid!
9. Nailed the tone. Sounds great!
10. Andy is a great guy to deal with folks! If only I had the cash...I'd have this as a backup for my DB750!
11. Really want this No cash though I'm afraid. Interested in anything I have for sale at present?
12. Noisebox and PT-2 traded. Everything else still available!
13.
Hmmm, I tried to attach an mp3 clip here of how I make it sound with the EHX but I always get a file with an .ipb extension showing instead, which doesn't play... any help?
Yeah I've found that too when I try to upload PDFs. Just attach it, and when it's downloaded at the other end, change the file extension to mp3 and it should work.
14. I have the TB Edition Pink one - Is there any difference between them?
15. Prunes and Custard all the way! Even better with an OC-2.
16. Brand new unopened set of Green Neon DR 5 string 45-125 guage. Got a set that is surplus to requirements, so I thought I'd put them up for sale here. Brand new they are £44.95 from stringsdirect, so £35 + £2 for next day Special Delivery. Cheers
17. Yeah, I never got to try it with a Stingray, but with the Yamaha I had at the time, it sounded ace.
18. I had an Original GuvNor which was awesome - Don't know about the newer one though. Timmy C from RATM used the original one on the first RATM album with a Stingray, so that could be a good place to start looking!
19. Pedaltrain and Noisebox provisionally traded.
20.
I've got an Oxide and Xerograph up for sale if you want to spend some of the proceeds of this sale!
Trying to raise the funds for another bass from this sale, but if I have anything left over I may be in touch
21. Ok up for sale/trade is the following: Item - Description - Price - Condition ?/10 Pedaltrain PT-2 - Softcase version with velcro attached - £90. 10/10. *TRADED* Tonefactor Analogue Filter 442 Red - The Bass version of the popular DOD 440 clone from Tonefactor/MojoHand (An early version of the Boomstick Bottom Feeder). Velcro on the bottom, in original box - £50. 9/10 (No damage to the finish, print is a little tatty, nothing major).*SOLD* Subdecay Noise Box - Chaotic Fuzzy Synthy madness in a box! Like a more extreme/versatile Prunes and Custard. Half the size too. It's an excellent pedal, but I just don't use it. Pedalboard tape on the bottom, with original box and manual printout - £75. 10/10. *TRADED* Digitech WH-1 - Now, this pedal is broken. It worked when I bought it, and I don't know what happened - One day it just didn't power up or pass signal. Could be an easy fix for someone who know's what they're doing, but I never bothered to get it fixed as I didn't use it anyway. Not sure what to ask for this, but working ones generally go for around £400, so lets say offers around £200? Velcro on the bottom, no box or manual. Can include a Maplins power supply for an extra £10. Really heavy though so will add considerably to the shipping. 6/10 (bit banged up - I would guess it's about 15-20 years old) Loopmaster 5 Loop strip with Master Bypass - Cool loop strip with different colour LEDs for each loop and a Master Bypass for Bypassing all loops without turning each loop on or off, eg you have Fuzz in one loop, Filter in another, and Chorus in another that you need to activate all at the same time. Turn each loop on and activate the Master Bypass, you will get just your clean sound. When you need all 3 effects turn the MB switch off, and boom - all your effects on with one switch. This is MINT condition. I bought it from someone who didn't use it, intending to use it on my guitar board that I never actually put together, so it's just sat under my bed since. I've never even passed a signal through it I don't think. I plugged the power in to make sure the LED's worked, and that's it. No Velcro applied or anything. These are $145 plus shipping and import tax, and a 8+ weeks build time, so save yourself time and money - £120. 10/10. Boss FZ-3 - Frusciante approved fuzz, which also sounds pretty good on Bass - £35. 8/10 (Has red marks round the dials for the settings a previous owner used, and a couple of scratches). *SOLD* Prices do not include shipping. Ok as for trades I would be interested in the following: Pedaltrain Nano Darkglass B3K Anything Iron Ether (FrantaBit and Oxide taking preference) SFX Micro Thumpinator Apart from those specific things, if you have anything to trade, make me an offer - Worst I can do is say no! Pictures available on request!
