It's in a 1590A enclosure so it's TINY, there's no tone loss, you have a trimmer inside you can adjust for the gain, so it can boost or cut too if necessary, simple 2 knob (rate and depth) setup, and a blindingly bright LED that dims with the depth control, and blinks at the speed of the speed knob, giving a visual indication of both speed and depth. I love mine! True Bypass and 9v too - it's awesome!

Surely you could just have a box with 2 inputs, 2 outputs, and then a footswitch which switches which channel the fx loop is active on?

Never had any dealings with him, but I don't think I'll ever buy one now. Ken Smith can do one!

A good friend of mine does the PCB's for me, and I do the rest A member of this forum already bought one of these off me to install into his OLP 5 string. He went away for a few weeks the day after he received his preamp so hasn't had a chance to fit it yet, but as you can see from Howard's review, they work great and sound "the biz" I can also build these into Stompboxes if anyone would like it in pedal form, and not have to modify their bass!

I managed to snag my mint condition unlined fretless Stingray, from the year of my birth (1989) with a hardcase from the States for £685 all in. Bargain.

I could build you one if you like

I find that a lot of perceived volume loss when it comes to switching to slap isn't due to the slap technique or effects, it could be down to your fingerstyle technique! The heavier your touch is fingerstyle, the more volume loss you perceive when you come to slap. I've found the best thing to do is to try and play a bit lighter when playing fingerstyle, and let the amp do most of the work volume-wise, so when you change to slap, if anything, there will be a boost! Of course it could also be your EQ settings, but I find the above to be the case a lot of the time.

You could definitely fit the Xerograph on there. Just have to bunch some pedals a bit closer to each other. It seems all the pedals on the bottom row have jacks on the top of the pedal, so just move everything to the right, and have everything up against eachother. I reckon you'd get the Xero on then! Quality board by the way, very nice indeed.

Does anyone have a 1290 size enclosure spare that they could sell? Preferably pre-drilled for 3 knobs, footswitch, input, output, 9vdc and led? It'd be a great help rather than having to wait and order something in from the States Cheers
