1. Also, would trade for maple necked StingRay 5 + cash!
2. Been playing this tonight and it's a REALLY good bass. I just don't need it at the mo. I think it's worth mentioning that I've had a DJ5 before this one and only sold it because I wasn't using it, and jumped at the chance to own another one. But the sad thing is I just don't need a 5 string J. As soon as I do though, I know what I'll be buying!
3.
Velcro dots. That way you can have it off or on at will.
I like this idea!
4. Ah well! No worries. If you fancy it and it's still here I'm sure we can sort something!
5. Yeah, it's a custom Nordy that Kevin Lindsay (also a member on here, I would PM him if you want more details!) had built by Carey Nordstrand for him. The only one like it I believe.
6. Set up your master card for Paypal and I'm sure we can do business...
7. These look like some fantastic basses, and Rich is one of the best guys you could ever hope to deal with, so don't hesitate if what he's offering takes your fancy! That fretless looks lovely rich, if I was in the market for another, it'd be that one!
8.
That's a tough one. They are certainly rare, and it's a shame this one is missing the tweeters; I'd say £300 is probably about right. I really am tempted...
Go on...You know you want to
9. Yeah the tone these put out really IS beautiful! What do you think price-wise? Should I be charging more for this beast of an amp?
10. I'll get proper pics up soon, but here is a picture taken about 5 years ago (it's been sitting in my room like this ever since, so is in exactly the same condition!)
11. Well, here we have a real old vintage Trace combo. I don't know much about it, as I got it from my uncle, but it's a 2x10 with a Valve preamp, 12 band graphic EQ, FX loop, mid preshape switch, noise reduction switch etc. The sound is absolutely unreal! Trace Elliot sound at its best. When I originally got it about 6 years ago, the tweeters in it were farting, so I removed them. Currently it just has the original 2x10s in it. The thing is pretty heavy so couldn't post it, it would have to be picked up, but believe me the weight is worth it for the sound. I believe it to be 200 watts - But sounds MUCH louder than that! Now I've never even really seen another for sale so I'm not sure how much it's worth, but its vintage TE gear (a little battered) that works and sounds awesome, even without the tweeters, so I'll put a price of £300 on it. Please PM me if this is over/under priced, or if your interested. I'm open to a bit of haggling, and part ex's, but outright cash wins every time. Will get some pics up shortly. Cheers
12. Bump. £965/950 is a great price for a bass of this caliber considering the quality of the work that was done at The Bass Gallery, it's still possible to put the original pickups in it! All original bits included also!
13.
It's different.. at least it gets away from the original but I fear it will spawn a whole new host of cover versions for pub bands which we can do without, IMV.
GUILTY! I'm suggesting this ASAP
14. Hi all, Got loads of straight jacks sitting around that I'm just not using (and never have! They're all brand new), so I thought I'd put em up for sale/trade. £3 a jack, 5 for £12, the lot for £33. Would trade for Korg Pitchblack, but run anything else by me just in case Cheers
15. Really is a lovely bass Rob. Just really miss my old SR5! Price drop to £965 posted!
16. This used to be mine and I can vouch for it being an amazing bass. You won't find a better example of a Stingray 4. I can also vouch for Kieran being a good guy to deal with! I'd be having this back if I had the spare funds, but alas, it's not possible, so someone snatch this beautiful bass up!
17. Really liking that Bugcrusher! Instant GAS! Just checked out the site and apparently no longer in production. B*llocks
18.
I've just shifted my Woolly Mammoth because I wasn't using it. The fuzz circuit in the Octavius Squeezer really is excellent and can also do gated sounds, plus it's got square and saw waves which can sound pretty gnarly, and there's a creamy-sounding distortion on the Bass Micro Synth if I want that, and the Bugcrusher that arrived yesterday tends to create distorted sounds too (and crazy oscillating distorted sounds if you feed it a distorted sound to begin with). So I do have options. I am missing a subtle overdrive, but maybe the Chunk can do it I'm not sure I've never tried, and to be honest I never really use sounds like that anyway. Next on the list is a delay I think, I've gone too long without one. I'll be using it more for modulation effects this time though.
The fuzz in the Chunk is their Brown Dog Fuzz circuit, and on the original you could blend the levels together, as well as having hard or soft clipping, so I would guess a subtle drive is possible!
