1. Ok so my notation skills aren't perfect, I found it really hard to replicate the feel in the score, but as far as I can tell the notes are right, so you should be able to match them to the song and nail the feel by your self! This is all I could knock up since my last post, and is from when the bass enters, up to the first chorus Hope it helps, may finish it off tomorrow if I get time!
2. Ok after looking at this for a bit I have worked out most of it, so will notate it at some point this week Cheers
3. Would also be grateful for a full transcription of this. Anyone have a copy of said BP magazine they wouldn't mind scanning in please? Cheers
4. Thanks very much
5. CHRISTMAS BARGAIN - £105 posted!
6. The bass tone on the Scala gig is immense...and the playing even more so! Some awesome lines from Mr Turner that night...
7.
Why does he need two tuners?
2 seperate signal chains maybe? One could be for the upright and the other for his basses.
8. Astute observation Sir! I can only assume that having spent a good few grand on an Alleva he wanted to get the use out of it
9.
I know, it's just that I don't like having my integrity or experience questioned...... lol
Yeah, but at least you have the integrity and experience in the first place, which it seems neither he, or the git in the other shop have at all
10.
WTF, Paul Turner played fiver? He said, he prefers 4ers, because he can't cope with how B string sounds (too much different from E)..
Yup, uses 5's for Jamiroquai as the Low B is needed for a lot of their stuff, but prefers playing 4's. I met him through a friend and he's an absolutely lovely bloke.
11. Look on the bright side - He's gonna be the one having trouble playing it, not you
12. Had a gig on friday depping for a mate of mine (Ziggydolphinboy on here) at The Bull in Colchester. Had a wicked night, the place was rammed. Although some stupid drunken bint fell over and threw the remainder of her drink all over my Pedaltrain!! I was tempted to knock her back down to the floor once she got up!! Some quick work with a towel and all was well again, luckily nothing damaged. Last night had a gig with my own band Torn at the Valentine in Gants Hill. None of my mates could make it so I expected the place to be empty, but it was also rammed like the night before, we had a terrific gig and the place went wild when we went into Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody as the final number. There are photos from the gig at http://www.livebandphotos.com/Torn If you scroll down and click the "most recent pictures" button you can see them from the beginning. I was playing my JV Squier P and my Musicman Stingray through the Aguilar rig and the sound was awesome
13. I don't know how to describe what I do on stage apart from "grooving"
14. Play the C on the E string with your index finger, then use your little finger for the for the D#, 3rd finger for the high D, index finger for the C and little finger for the A#. That's how I play it anyway
15. Thanks for the kind words peeps! Yup on second thought I should have shut the wardrobe door

.

Bass looks lovely mate! I can attest to the value of the Stingray...I've currently got a fretted 4 and a fretless 4, and had a 5er until recently, I got all of them for sub-£800, and I'm really not quite sure how I managed it Right place at the right time I guess. They are fantastic basses though, and if I had the cash I'd probably pay your asking price for it! As others have said, welcome to BC, we hope you stick around! (But your wallet will regret it )
17. Not the best example as the sound quality is sh*te, but you get the basic idea: Also please excuse the sync issue, the sh*te playing, and intonation issues. On second thought, why the hell did I even post this video?
18.
Fretless MM played with a pick through an octave pedal (a bit of chorus won't go amiss either).
That's exactly what I do. Fretless Stingray, Boss OC-2, Analogman Chorus. I play it with fingers though cos I suck with a pick
19. Don't know if this counts, but I had a Lakland DJ4 and a DJ5 at the same time. Also used to have triplets in that I had a Stingray 4, a Fretless Stingray 4 and a Stingray 5 The 5 is gone now, but I still have the Fretted and Fretless 4's
20.
did this sell?
Not yet! Still for sale
21. Wow. Didn't expect the Phaser to be second cheapest!! Tube Phaser...sounds interesting!
22. I have no idea what kinda price these usually go for, but that green fretless is particularly fetching
23. That is gonna be one seriously nice bass. I'm absolutely in love with my Shuker jazz, and that orange colour is awesome. Hope it turns out to be exactly what you were after
24. I always try to keep all my gear in tip top condition. Whatever condition I acquire them in is how I want to keep it. For example, my Stingrays are both in immaculate condition, you'd never know they were 2nd hand. My 1982 P-Bass on the other hand has loads of knocks and dings. My Shuker is somewhere in the middle, only having a couple of very minor dings. They all receive the same amount of love and care, no matter what condition. As long as I personally haven't done any damage to them, I'm a happy bunny
25. Thanks, will notify him!
