1. Hah thanks. Unfortunately I never actually got to gig that setup in it's entirety. Only ever used one cab or the other depending on what kind of gig it was. Glad I got rid of it in the longrun though, I'm in love with my current Aguilar rig!!
2. Gorgeous collection Rich. If I'm ever up round that way I'll give you a bell. Those Statii look mighty tasty
3. John lives literally just up the road from me, and I can vouch for him as a great guy and bass player!! Good luck with the sale John. Cheers, James
4. Another +1 for LPB and Tort. Lovely combination mate. Looks the nuts.
5.
You could also get this: which is available at http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/034945/details.html Those transcriptions seem a little more detailed (and possibly more accurate) than those in SITSOL. Unfortunately, there is some duplication between the books but who cares. There's no CD with this book, but presumably you've got a Motown compilation with all the hits.
I love how it's a Jazz on the front cover when Jamerson was using his P Bass for all of those tracks.
6. PM Silentfly on these forums. He's in London and is a whizz kid with effects
7. Lovely, lovely bass. Good luck in selling it! Whoever gets this won't be disappointed.
8.
Just ordered a copy of 'Standing In The Shadows Of Motown' from Play.com
You won't regret it. Fantastic book, and the DVD is wicked too.
9.
brand new £10 +p&p
I'll have em.
10.
This is stunning.
One of my favourite videos on YouTube. Some of his other stuff leaves me cold but this is just awesome. I watched it twice today, and might do so again now just the for the fun of it
11. I only got my first fretless a couple months ago, which is a 1989 Unlined Pau Ferro board'ed Stingray 4. I'm getting to used to having no lines, and the dot markers are actually ON where the line would be at 3, 5, 7, 9 etc. I must say I don't get the confusion you guys talk about when switching between fretted and fretless? I just think, "when playing fretless, the dots are my frets" and then I'm good to go!
12.
DIY allows you to make the perfect board/case, IF you know you're final FX collection & set-up. I made my own case and it was a dream to set up live - as has already been said: connect to power, guitar in, amp & PA out - magic! My FX collection has changed so I'll be making another soon, and I have a question . . . I have a pretty firm idea of what pedals I want: Korg DT-10 (already have this) Dunlop 105Q or Morley PBA-2 wah T-Rex Sweeper chorus MXR El Grande Bass Fuzz or EH Nano Bass Balls (or some similar decent bass overdrive - recommendations welcome) Aphex Bass Xciter Aphex Punch Factory Hartke VXL Bass Attack (already have this) Here's a mock-up of what I have in mind (I'm not yet sure about physical and signal pedal order): AFAIK, these are all 9v pedals, so my question is this: could I use a single 9v power supply with a daisy chain connecting them all, despite the pedals not all being from the same manufacturer? If yes, can anyone recommend such a PSU & daisy chain? Thanks, Mark
Just something to think about...The Morley Wah is a HELL of a lot bigger than the 105Q, so if you went with that you'd have to make your board bigger to lay it out as planned! If it helps I sold my Morley after trying a 105Q (But then again I sold both and ended up with an MSD )
13. Yeah weren't these done as an actual tribute to the Fender P Duck Dunn played at the time? Gold anodized guard, etc...
14. I still can't believe the bloody twins got through! I thought that Lucie was one of the best in it. Not to mention she wasn't bad on the eye!!
15. That's F'ing gorgeous. Good luck with the sale buddy.
16. A 3PDT switch is exactly the same as a DPDT, just with an extra switch in it. With a DPDT you have 2 switches and 2 things to switch between (ie on/off). A 3PDT has 3 poles, but 2 things to switch between. That's why they are used for true bypass in pedals, as it allows you to connect the input to either the output (true bypass) or the effect and the extra switch in it can turn an LED on and off. True Bypass can be achieved without a 3PDT, you just wouldn't be able to use an LED without some clever jiggery-pokery. Not very specific to your question, but I hope that helps you understand the workings of a 3PDT. Edit: Just read a little closer and saw you said 3TDP. Whoops! I guess this post could be helpful to some though so I'll leave it here...
17. I use an Aguilar AG500SC and 2xDB112's so I take one cab to rehearsal and both to gigs
18. OK I've gone crazy. £105 + postage. This pedal would cost well over £200 to have built with import tax and shipping etc, so grab yourself a bargain if you're looking to blend your clean signal with your pedals.
19.
why is there milk in your fishtank?
Haha, that's a lamp shade mate. Thanks for the kind words peoples. First £500 takes it...
20. Up for sale is my recently purchased 1994 CIJ '72 Re-Issue Fender Jazz. It's got a couple of knocks and dings, but what would you expect for a well gigged 15 year old workhorse! It's all original, no mods at all. It's gorgeous and sounds the dog danglies! Just put a new set of Laklands on it. I'll be honest and say I'm not the best at setting up basses and I haven't had the money recently to take it to a pro, so while it's in no way unplayable, the action is just a little high for my tastes and I'm not good enough at doing it to sort it out myself I paid £500 for it a couple months ago, and it's not been out of the house since I got it, so would like as much of that back as possible Cheers James
21. I won't lie I was like "What the HELL is Dave thinking?" when I saw you'd put it up for sale You made the right choice!
