1. Had a gig last night and the sound was just THERE. I don't know what I was thinking. WITHDRAWN.
2. My guitarist and I (http://www.myspace.com/tornband) are depping for guitarist Mike Casswell and bassist Phil Williams from East of Java (http://www.myspace.com/eastofjavamusic) down the Sutton Arms, so if your in the area and haven't got anything to do, come and see us
3.
Speaking of Pino, I would recommend that you dig out the first 2 Go West Albums ('Go West' and 'Dancing On The Couch'). Perhaps not the most obvious 'fretless' tunes but man, can that guy play a tasty, tight bassline. Essential listening for all fretless players in my opinion! Cheers Matt
As I said in my previous post...Jaco who? Pino is the king of fretless IMO
4. I use OBBM instrument leads and couldn't be happier. The speakons I use haven't packed up yet, so haven't had the need to get any from him, but my Dad uses all OBBM stuff and he's very pleased
5.
I might be interested in the Aguilar GS112 cab if you know what sort of price you are after. PM me if you have an idea. Thanks.
They're DB cabs, by the way not GS And Dubs, I'm not really looking to sell at present as I'd need replacement cabs straight away - Unless I could sort out some cabs to buy ASAP. Make me an offer, worst I can do is say no
6. Been meaning to get new pics for a while That's the current band board, now that Toasted's MSD wah has landed Bass>Cream Pie>OC-2>XBlender (Swollen pickle clone in the loop)>Analogman Chorus>DT-10>MSD Wah There's the fun board...PT2 with the rest of my pedals on it. Not wired up or anything, I just plug each pedal in whenever I feel like using them. Been trying to get the band board sorted out first as that's the priority, but will hopefully get round to finishing it off soon. G Labs Wah pad - Bought off here recently, will be using it as a TB loop for my Whammy Digitech WH-1 original whammy Crowther Prunes and Custard Montgomery Appliances '77 Flanger - clone of the original A/DA flanger with a few upgraded features. Without a doubt the best flanger i've heard or used, Toasted is selling one in the FS section - grab it while you still can! EHX US BassBalls Catalinbread Serrano clean boost Catalinbread Valcoder tremolo Atomic Echo Clone - Original Way Huge Aqua Puss, just in a different enclosure, and therefore a fraction of the price Original Musitronics Mutron III - The funkiest filter ever made PS. Sorry for the bad quality pics...Had to use my webcam
7.
Arrrgggghh! This is my dream rig! Not in any position to make an offer at the moment though - dang Unless you've lost your mind and wouldn't mind straight swapping for a LittleMark250 and a GS112?.... Good luck with the sale mate! Eude
Haha, sorry mate, but I haven't gone THAT crazy...yet!
8. Just awesome isn't it? In my opinion, Pino is the greatest fretless bass player. Jaco who?
9.
Gets pretty sweet at 4.38!
Probably my most watched vid on youtube. The fill at 5:00-5:02 is just awesome. Probably my favourite fill, in any song, ever Nothing very hard or technical about it...Just a fantastic piece of tasteful playing.
10. Ok, this is very strictly a feeler, as I'm very happy with this rig, but just wonder what else is out there It's all in immaculate condition. Both cabs are immaculate and both have official Aguilar padded covers. The DB112 I bought second hand from here (although you wouldn't have a clue if I hadn't told you), the DB112NT was purchased brand new from the Bass Merchant. Pics can be seen in my Porn thread, the pics were taken the day I received the cab. Offers on a post card...Or I guess a PM would be fine Particularly interested in MarkBass, ideally a Traveller 102P and 151P. Edit: New Price of £600 for both cabs, or £320 each. Would prefer collection, but if you want to use a courier it will be extra. *BOTH SOLD*
11. Jesus that's beautiful. How many organs can I sell and still be alive to play it?
12. I'd have this if I had the cash!
13.
anything from the two paul young albums...... no parlez the secret of association especially....wherever i lay my hat all by the legend that is pino palladino
Get the OC-2 out and have a go at "I'm gonna tear your playhouse down" Not easy...but what a great bassline!
14.
Double bass is a completely different kettle of fish from fretless. I'm a professional double bass player and cellist, but I wouldn't dare play a fretless electric bass in front of an audience. Higgie last heard me play one. It wasn't pretty, LOL!
It was a lot prettier than me playing it, that's for sure!!
15. These are fantastic basses, I absolutely love mine to bits. My dad has one too and he loves his also. These basses were of better quality than the MIA Fenders at the time (or that's the general concensus anyway), so do yourself a favour and grab one of the best Precision basses ever made.
16. Sweet price for an awesome amp. Good luck with the sale, although at that price you shouldn't need it
17. I paid £350 for mine and it's a bit beaten up and has a DiMarzip pickup in it. To be honest it's such a good bass I'd have happily paid more for it! I think about £400/450 for a decent condition/unmodified one is about the going rate.
18. Do you know if this would fit a 94 CIJ 72 reissue jazz? I see it hasn't got the hole for a screw between the neck pickup and the neck... but if the other holes line up it's no big deal!
19.
Its actually not that bad to be honest its on casters so there's no carrying to do most of the time anyway size wise ive had bigger 4x10's, My old Ampeg was huge!!
Hmmm 4 or 8 ohm?
