1.
anything from the two paul young albums...... no parlez the secret of association especially....wherever i lay my hat all by the legend that is pino palladino
Get the OC-2 out and have a go at "I'm gonna tear your playhouse down" Not easy...but what a great bassline!
2.
Double bass is a completely different kettle of fish from fretless. I'm a professional double bass player and cellist, but I wouldn't dare play a fretless electric bass in front of an audience. Higgie last heard me play one. It wasn't pretty, LOL!
It was a lot prettier than me playing it, that's for sure!!
3. That was bloody fast
4. These are fantastic basses, I absolutely love mine to bits. My dad has one too and he loves his also. These basses were of better quality than the MIA Fenders at the time (or that's the general concensus anyway), so do yourself a favour and grab one of the best Precision basses ever made.
5. Price Drop: £120 posted
6. Sweet price for an awesome amp. Good luck with the sale, although at that price you shouldn't need it
7. I paid £350 for mine and it's a bit beaten up and has a DiMarzip pickup in it. To be honest it's such a good bass I'd have happily paid more for it! I think about £400/450 for a decent condition/unmodified one is about the going rate.
8. Do you know if this would fit a 94 CIJ 72 reissue jazz? I see it hasn't got the hole for a screw between the neck pickup and the neck... but if the other holes line up it's no big deal!
9. Hmm...Only problem is I'd need a 15 to pair with it
10.
Its actually not that bad to be honest its on casters so there's no carrying to do most of the time anyway size wise ive had bigger 4x10's, My old Ampeg was huge!!
Hmmm 4 or 8 ohm?
11. Haha will do Rich, been meaning to take pics of everything up close for a while but just haven't got round to it. May do it tomorrow
12. Bargain of the century as far as I'm concerned. My dad has an all original Rosewood fretboard one from 83, and swapped his pickup out for a DiMarzio after using mine on a couple of gigs. He's offered to swap many a time, but I've told him where he can stick that offer! Haha
13. I know this thread is way way old, but I'm just so happy with this bass it's unreal!
14. Hmm....I have a couple of DB1x12's in Chocolate Thunder...I'd be tempted but the 410 is so heavy! How manageable is it? Size is also a factor...
15.
3) Automagic Earthquake Bass Wah - £175
Come to daddy...
16. Looks like I'm going for the Automagic Wah being sold on here by Toasted and won't need the Wah pad after all matey haha. Although I might keep it and use it as a "Whammy" pad with my WH-1
17. Yeah I just need a wah to use it with now hahaha
18.
Squier '57 RI Precision Bass Early 1982 JV P bass, somebody replaced the pups. JV02479, still has the sticker of the shop it as bought from. Its amazing to play. I've tried out the current US '57RI and prefer this! Though I am biased.
I have one exactly the same as that too. My dad has one with a rosewood fretboard and he prefers mine by miles... The maple really brings out the zing with the tone control How does the pickup in yours sound? Mine doesn't have the original in it, it's got a Dimarzio Model P. I wouldn't change it out for the world...Just incase you weren't happy with yours, I thought I'd give you a heads up on how good that pickup sounds in one of these basses
19. Picked up the Wah Pad today. It works perfectly. Just wanted to say he's a great guy and don't hesitate to buy from him!
20. I REALLY want that Wah.
21. Courtesy of 50Cent: "I don't know what you heard about me But a bitch can't get a dollar out of me No Cadillac, no perms, you can't see That I'm a motherf*cking B-U-M-P"
22. Bump
23. Runaway is most definitely not Zender! He left like 2 albums before that It's Paul Turner, and the P Bass/Stingray thing is true. 60's P and a Pre-EB Stingray IIRC.
24. I absolutely LOVE the Nordstrand Pickup. As Rich said, Hifi is quite a good way of describing it, yes. Just really crisp and the clarity is awesome It really helped bring my G string back from the dead (couldn't hear it live whatsoever!) If you are going for one in your 5 string, make sure it's the 5.3, as then it has the proper switching options, the 5.2 in mine has a really dubby sound in the middle position as it couldn't be wired up properly without the additional dummy coil in the 5.3. It makes for a really cool sound though so I never bothered changing it out! And thanks Nick for the comment on my fashion sense...Haha...
25. I was tempted by the Green at first. Then I saw the White Hot and wanted them. Then I saw a Choc Thunder Db112 in the classifieds cheap, so that made my mind up for me
