1. Received the book today! It's awesome Haven't had time to try and play anything yet, but it's interesting to read! Cheers Ben. So who's next on the list and when do I send it on?
2. I've owned this pedal before (this actual pedal, not just an analogman chorus) and it rocks. I really want to buy it back right now, but alas no funds Have a bump!
3. I was gonna hold back until I've got everything, but I figured a WIP shot wouldn't hurt: Top right above the Cream Pie is going to be a Loopmaster pedalboard patcher, and where the ruler is, all the way from the Hellbaby to the Serrano will be a Loopmaster 5 loop with tuner mute and master bypass. The Hellbaby is just placeholding for an OC-2 that I have leant to a mate.
4.
Do they mean 8 x 9v with 500ma each? Or 8 x 9v sharing 500ma? The latter wouldn't be great!
Due to the cheapness I'd be inclined to say the latter, but hey, let's hope I'm wrong!

Withdrawn

Didn't see this coming at all - You know I'd have it straight off you if I had the cash, but with an impending trip to Australia, I've got to save all I can! Might be getting me a JV P Bass off a mate while I'm out there too! Damn fine bass in a sweet-ass finish. I seriously suggest to any buyer to get both necks too. Good luck with the sale mate.
6.
i guess your right you should always try before you buy. but the shops in london are all like online shops, and they have very very little actually in stock (in the shop). im not tooo bothered about the sound, i just need a decent head, something loud that wont crap out on me like the warwick. maybe i'll look into that hartke head again then
Well, there is a shop called the Bass Gallery (in London, I might add) which is completely dedicated to Bass. Not a guitar in sight. Go there - Fantastic choice of basses, amps and even effects. Prices are a little high, but hey, there's nothing to stop you walking in and trying out what you want, and then buying cheaper on the net somewhere.
7. Looks like I might have to pull out of this unfortunately! A friend of mine from Italy is leaving London next week so i've got to see him before he goes! Hope ya'll have a good time!

RIP Leftysteve
My deepest condolences, as has been said before, we may not all have met in the flesh, but this place is def like a family and to loose one of us so suddenly is truly saddening. My thoughts are with Steves family at this time.
+1
9. Rich runs a tight ship Good comunnication, and we had a deal sorted with ease. Thanks Rich!
10.
Hi mate, Yes, they are all right angle jacks. I'm not interested in effects trades, thanks for the offer though! Cheers, Jim.
Ah well worth a try! Just wish I had the cash, otherwise this kit would be sold by now Good luck with the sale Cheers

Effect pedal samples

While I agree that sound clips do help, you have to remember that everyone has different setups, so ultimately results will vary widely just because of gear, let alone people's opinions and stuff. For example, you could hear a pedal sample on a Jazz straight into a soundcard and not like the tone, yet play the same pedal on a P with flats through an Ampeg head and absolutely love it. I do agree that soundclips are helpful, but you should take them with a pinch of salt.
12.
Bumperoonie!
Are they all right angled jacks? Any interest in a part ex for an MXR Flanger? Cheers
13.
IMHO the 503 is at it's best when it's plugged into Markbass cabs. I used to use it with a Markbass 4x10 and 1x15 and found it to be incredibly versatile.
Damn! You just HAD to mention it sounds best through MarkBass cabs...and then mention the 4x10 and 1x15 - the exact combination of MarkBass cabs I am using, haha. I've been thinking of trying one of these heads out, but I'd need to sell my EA iAmp 600 - unless you're up for a trade?
14. The Mutron isn't noisy in the slightest! I've currently got two, and neither of them have any bad noise problems.
15.
It's worth noting that they don't make the Optocouplers used in the Mutron anymore as they had Cadmium in them. I don't really like the sound of the newer ones, there's also the HAZ which I don't think is very good either. As ever, YMMV.
As Toasted said about the Cadmium, if you built a Mutron clone, it would sound like an envelope filter, but wouldn't sound anywhere near as good as the Original.
16. Is this a complete Sadowsky Pre-Amp with vintage tone control? If so I'm very interested. PM sent.
17. My Lakland DJ5 is the main gigging bass, but I have a DJ4 and an EBMM Stingray 4 also, just for the hell of it Got a Warmoth Fretless Jazz in the works too, and one day will pick up a good Precision! (Possibly another Warmoth build, depending on how the Fretless goes!)
18. I've got an original Mutron III for sale if you want it. PM me if your interested!
19. Great prices there! I'd be interested in the XBlender if I had any cash
20. Haha, I know, Ant's a good mate of mine, was just teasing him! I have all the delay I need (Way Huge Aqua Puss clone for analog, and an Akai Headrush for digital/looping) but I just wanted a digi delay in a smaller form I've had an echo park before and they are great pedals, but I have no cash so if Ant defintiely wants it, let him have it
21. I have an EBMM 4 string Stingray with 3EQ. Maple neck and fingerboard, translucent orange with an abalone pickguard. I've been really tempted to PM you, as I absolutely love SR5's, and the translucent teal is my colour of choice on an SR5...But I really, really do love the 4 so I don't know what to do PM me if you like, and maybe we can sort something out - Not guaranteeing anything though, as I love the 4 very much!
22. Ant you git It's miiiine I tell ye!!
23. I have an original model, and it hasn't given me any trouble what so ever. It has a Tuner output too, so you can just rock the pedal back and tune in silence. I think the newer models can be had for around £50? Not too sure as I haven't felt the need to get one after buying an original
24. The Visual Sound Volume pedal is the best in my experience! It's got LEDs to show how loud you are, so you don't have to rely on your ears alone! Great idea IMO. The older version (if you can find it) should be pretty cheap, but the new version has blue LED's and some other fancy options like stereo outputs and stuff. Hope this has been of some help, and good luck finding the one for you!
