1. Bump - And here's a stock picture for reference!!
2. I hope to be there. If anyone wants to play any of my gear let me know what to bring? Lakland DJ4 with Aero Pups and JRetro Lakland DJ5 with the same Musicman Stingray 3EQ Original Mutron III Akai Deep Impact Akai Headrush Demeter Compulator Digitech WH-1 Whammy Custom Modded Big Muff Way Huge Aqua Puss clone EA iAmp 600 I'm not sure I'm available but if I can, I will try and get there - and bring most of the above with me!!
3. Right - Excellent flanger here, only problem being, I can't fit it on my board. I'm more of a Phaser guy anyway, so don't want this to be sat around doing nothing. Literally in MINT condition, and has the rubber knob covers. I don't think I have a box/manual for it, but if I find them I will post them on, free of charge. The retail on these is about £125 IIRC. Here for £65 posted. Pics coming soon. Cheers. Edit: Forgot to mention - this pedal is 18V. I don't have a stand-alone adaptor. I use one of these. I will include it in the sale for an extra £6 (They are £12 brand new from Diago, and this has hardly been used).
4. I regret getting rid of mine!! I really want to get another one, but I can't even fit the pedals I want on my board now, let alone adding another one to it!!
5. Hi mate, a pedal I had cool results from - especially for the Zender stuff - is the Crowther Prunes and Custard. Here's a sample I recorded a while ago running it through the AF-9 to try and cop the "Sir Psycho" tone: Sir Psycho Sexy And here's one with the P+C by itself, trying to emulate the synth tone on Deeper Underground by Jamiroquai: Deeper Underground As to the EBS vs the Mutron, I've only played with the EBS briefly, but it does have some rather cool filter sounds. It's a different beast to the Mutron though. The Mutron is the classic old school funky filter. I wouldn't use anything else now!
6. Well you definitely won't be getting the Sir Psycho Sexy sound without running some kind of dirt into the filter. The same goes for the Zender stuff. As a stand alone filter I absolutely love the AF-9. If I didn't have a Mutron III it would be the AF-9 sitting on my board. Try running some kind of fuzz into it!
7.
Lakland Darryl Jones with Aero pups - classic 70s jazz sound IMO
I would have to agree I have that combo in both my DJ4 and DJ5, and a J-Retro in each too - Any Jazz sound I need is in both basses. They are simply wonderful.
8.
This colour gets many, many comments.
And so it should!! What a beautiful bass. Love it. If you're EVER selling it, let me know
9. Put the tuner at the end of your chain. If you're running a load of true bypass pedals, the buffer at the end will send a nice signal to the amp. Being able to mute everything at the touch of a switch as dangerboy said, is another advantage of doing this. If you need to tune, just turn off everything before hand. That's what I like about things like a Master Bypass on a true bypass strip - it'll turn off whatever loops are on, then you click the switch again, and everything that was off now comes back on - making tuning quickly a breeze.
10. I use an EA iAmp 600, and I just want to say what a fantastic amp it is. Good price too!
11. Mate that sample sounds fantastic. I'm wishing more than ever that I had the cash...Although, I already have a Warmoth body I was hoping to just stick a fretless neck on
12. Ooh, I'd be very interested in this! If I could get in line that would be fantastic! Cheers
13. +1 I've never had the need for an Impedance Buffer, but would just like to say that Joe built me a pedal a little while ago, (another prototype) and it sounds awesome, and Joe has been really helpful with my enquiries. The quality of his work combined with (what will be) decent prices (once out of the prototype stages) points to a rather succesful future, whether he takes this full time, or just a part time project. All in all, fantastic work Joe, am looking forward to your future creations
14.
Here are a couple of pics of my shiny new Modulus that I got off Ebay.com I used it for a gig last night and I can honestly attest that I have never, ever heard a tone like it!!!!!!! I'm am in awe!
Wow! That is nice. A good price too! Congratulations on your new bass
15. I wish I had a decent way to record clips. I've managed to get some awesome sounds running: Boss OC-2>Modded Russian Big Muff>Mutron III>Atomic Echo Clone (Way Huge Aqua Puss clone) Sometimes I whack an MXR M-117R reissue Flanger in for good measure
16. Haha, thanks. I know - It's gorgeous. I can't wait to go pick it up!!
17. Sorry guys... It's mine. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
18. Ooh, some lovely basses in this thread. Would absolutely love to have a Rickie or a copy, but it's just not that high on the priority list. There is a lovely blue Rick fretless in one of the Bass shops round the corner on Denmark St. They want £1450 for it though IIRC, so I'll be (ricken)buggered if I'm gonna buy it
19. Lookin' good Ste. Way too many pedals for a bassist though
20.
The best, IMO bar none is the Analogman Mini Clone Chorus with Deep Mod. It's just supelative in ever way.
+1 - I had to get rid of mine due to lack of cash, and need of a fuzz pedal, but I have no doubt that if I need a Chorus again in the future, it will be the Analogman.
21.
for anyone who has been put off diago boards after reading about this, the newer ones ive used when compared to older ones ive had use much stronger glue under the carpet and feel looooooooads sturdier - bloody excellent.
+1
22. Ant your board gets better everytime I see it. Good stuff.
23. This is probably the best fretless Wal I've seen. Congratulations on having such a beautiful bass in your collection. My dad sold his Wal Mk II that he had made
24. Argh, I've been wanting to pick up a cheap Precision of some kind Shame I've got no cash. Don't suppose you're interested in trades? Cheers
25. That PBass is gorgeous. Tort + LPB is one of my favourite combinations, but you don't see them that much!!
