Ooh, some lovely basses in this thread. Would absolutely love to have a Rickie or a copy, but it's just not that high on the priority list. There is a lovely blue Rick fretless in one of the Bass shops round the corner on Denmark St. They want £1450 for it though IIRC, so I'll be (ricken)buggered if I'm gonna buy it

Lookin' good Ste. Way too many pedals for a bassist though
The best, IMO bar none is the Analogman Mini Clone Chorus with Deep Mod. It's just supelative in ever way.
+1 - I had to get rid of mine due to lack of cash, and need of a fuzz pedal, but I have no doubt that if I need a Chorus again in the future, it will be the Analogman.
for anyone who has been put off diago boards after reading about this, the newer ones ive used when compared to older ones ive had use much stronger glue under the carpet and feel looooooooads sturdier - bloody excellent.
+1

Ant your board gets better everytime I see it. Good stuff.

This is probably the best fretless Wal I've seen. Congratulations on having such a beautiful bass in your collection. My dad sold his Wal Mk II that he had made

If you're looking for an analog octaver, I really don't think the OC-2 can be beaten for the price. OC-3 is sh*te, EHX Octave Multiplexer is another good one, but I don't think it has the mojo the OC-2 does.
I've just come back from Zavvi Oxford Street and the basement is barricaded off with a notice saying Sound Control no longer trades from these premises. The basement itself has some display stands but looks basically gutted.
Wow! It's weird to think I probably walked past you! I can get to Zavvi from my office in about 60 seconds
They're not much different in price are they? I would assume the "emulation" is as exact as they come?
The OC-2 second hand will set up back at the most £40. I know I'd rather have the real thing than a copy...It just doesn't have the Mojo.
I have an OC-2 and I love it, and I tried an OC-3 and didn't like it. However, someone told me once that the OC-3 has an OC-2 emulation mode. Is this right? Doesn't it work?
That's correct. But why pay for an emulation when you can get the real thing cheap as chips?
it's almost painful watching this sit here @ £675 with no cash buyers trying to rip Perry's arm off... nicest stingray I've ever seen?...quite probably, yes.
Exactly. Nicest Stingray IMO too. Was so gutted that I couldn't get it after all.

Just want to say, Perry is a nice, genuine bloke, and I would have no hesitation in dealing with him what so ever. I've been to play this bass and it seriously does play as well as it looks, and sounds the absolute b*ll*cks. If I'd been able to scrape the cash together in time, this would have come home with me yesterday. Seriously gutted about it!! So, here's a free bump, and if its still around when I've got the cash, I'll nab it.
Any ideas on a good squelchy filter al la Bootsy/ 70's disco style.....cheap!, in a single pedal form, not multi FX, a tall order i know, but its gotta be cheap i cant afford much at all!
Look for a used Maxon AF-9! It's the closest thing I've found to an original Mutron III. I'm considering getting one as a back up for my Mutron. It's awesome!!
I find my EHX micro synth to be quite useful when used sparingly!! for example ill only whack it on when theres a drum fill and i want a nice bbwwwwaaaaaarrrrrrrp-ching! over it Id like to try the prunes and custard though as the ehx dosnt do fuzzy synth very well. the filters are immense but uts a shame!
I absolutely love the Prunes and Custard...I still regret selling mine. I will have one again, some day!
the metaphor interests me most, i imagine the bass muff will just be like the black russian, and the other one will be a simpler version of the metaphor
I think the Bass Big Muff will be more of a Green sovtek muff, judging by the graphics.
