1. Here we have a quite beautiful one off 2007 custom made bass styled as you can clearly see on a Fodera Monarch, with an extra cutaway for higher fret access. I think according to the paperwork I got with the bass it has had some PU, Preamp and bridge upgrades from the original instrument. I purchased the bass about a year ago from The Bass Gallery in Camden for £1000. It was custom made for a customer (not me) by Howard Satterley (The Bass Doctor) according to The Bass Gallery, the Bass Doc being a very well known and highly respected Luthier from the north of England who I believe is/was a member here on this very forum. Perhaps somebody here might even recognise this bass? It is really lovely to play, well balanced and very light at under 9lb, the neck is fabulous being Jazz width with a bit more chunk in the hand. All kinds of tones can be coaxed out of this bass, it's very versatile and has that 'handmade' unique feel that only real one off custom made basses have. Condition is very good, it has the odd mark here and there but it's really good overall, I've taken a lot of pics here that show it off well from several angles. I'm offering it on here in the first instance at the same money I paid, I think we all know how much having a totally one off instrument like this built completely by hand might cost these days, so if you're that way inclined, you will probably get what it's about. I'm not really into trading it TBH, I could do with the cash really but fire away if you must If there is some decent cash on hand to sweeten the deal, something P Bass shaped might tempt me... So to be completely clear it's NOT A FODERA, that should be pretty obvious by now, but if you like that king of styling along with it being a one off pro hand built bass, you will probably really like it??? I think collection would be good on this as I'd personally like the buyer to see the bass and play it first...I'm based just outside Biggleswade, Beds. Specs below. Alder body, burst gloss finish. Three piece maple neck, gloss Quilt maple facing on headstock Schaller hardware (M type tuners, 2000 bridge) EMG MM/J pickups East UNI Pre preamp (18v active/passive) **Lots more pics to follow BTW, I'm having an issue uploading at the moment**
2. Hi richardd, great to make the connection. Yes it's a really nice bass agreed, still in lovely condition too. Love to keep it really but you know how it is, last in first out! 😳
3. Here offered for sale is my Valenti J4 #70 - SOLD Really nice bass, light weight (8lb according to the Wii balance board), I'd say 8.5lb to be safe. I've owned the bass for a few months after falling in love with it at Musicstreet Guitars, Huntingdon one day. Lovely bass to play, light weight and well balanced. It has Nordstrand Big Singles, Aguilar OBP-1 Preamp w/VTC (Sadowsky) (18v). I'm selling this in part to to pay my rent...(yes really I was made redundant in May), I have a few others so please don't let this cloud your judgement in anyway...needs must! What I like about the bass is that it seems to have 3 or 4 of the sounds that most of us like (P bass, J bass, Slap, fat finger, active/passive). Without promising everything and not really nailing anything! Really nice condition, nothing to say really, a few surface scuffs from popping but that's really it. I haven't gigged it and to be honest I don't think the guy before me did either according to the shop, it's in really great shape. I could ship this via DPD in the UK (extra £25), but collection with the cash (Biggleswade, Beds area) would be preferred as you can try the bass too. Fitted currently with Rotosound Swings @ 40-100 (my string of choice), but might be nice with flats? I don't really want to drop the price, these are much more new and I paid more than this for it this very year so, £875 it is folks! + £25 shipped next day in the UK Mainland via DPD. Hiscox case inc, very nice condition. Specs Swamp Ash Body '59 Burst Finish Graphite reinforced Maple neck 1 1/2" @ Nut Aguilar OBP-1 Preamp w/VTC (18 volts) Nordstrand Big Singles Tortoise shell Pickguard 12" Fretboard Radius Chrome Hardware Hipshot B Style Bridge (20mm spacing) Hipshot HB-1 Tuners Contoured heel for easier access to upper frets Hiscox hard case
