  1. No its a "vintage" jazz bass body. As in Vintage the company, not vintage as in old
  2. Can send people pictures by email as I've reached my upload limit on other ads!
  3. Hi, ive decided to sell my USA made tobias growler bass. I picked this up from this very forum last month and although it is a great bass, Ive got to be realistic and move it on as I'm a jazz bass guy. It is usa made by gibson, has a wenge fretboard, maple neck with ash body. It's incredibly light especially compared to my US jazz! It has a great musicman-ish sound thanks to the quad coil Bart pickup (also comes with a spare Seymour Duncan pickup). The preamp has been replaced (by a previous owner) and by the look of it its a Seymour Duncan 2 band. This means the two toggle switches and one knob aren't connected, currently wired balance, vol, stack bass treble. I've replaced the 9v battery and restrung with a set of ghs flea strings. I'm passing this on for the same bargain price I payed for it, which includes the original hardcase! Collection prefered but can post at buyers cost. Mainly after sale but feel free to pm any trades, don't be offended if I say no based in Gosport, Hampshire.
  4. Sorry just seen your post! However yes it is still for sale and I'll drop the price to £180!
  5. Price drop bump!
  6. I no longer have the original preamp so cannot refit it. String spacing at bridge is (as close as I can measure) 16mm, with a 44mm nut width. Nice and narrow for a 5 string type bump
  7. I'll have a check for the old preamp as I'm not sure if still have it. I'll measure the string spacing tonight and update the listing. Yeah I believe it is made in Korea and is a great bass especially for the money, I just don't use 5 strings!
  8. The last picture shows the 2ND stamp it's just hard to see!
  9. Hi people, I picked this up last year as I've always liked the tobias shape, however I'm a 4 string guy. So after recently getting hold of a 4 string tobias I'm now gonna move this on. It's a through neck, 34" scale. When I got it i removed the preamp as they are known for being unbelievably quiet (ie rubbish!) so the pickups are now connected straight to the output jack. I had planned to wire it passive vvtt but as I don't use it i never got round to it. I'll include the original control knobs. It has a crack on the rear/side of the headstock where the g string screw goes in?! It's purely cosmetic as it has been stamped 2nd from factory (see pic). It plays and sounds great and any trial is welcome. Collection prefered but can post at cost. Thanks!
  10. Due to a new arrival I'm selling one of my jazz basses. This is made up of various parts which are: vintage body (started as a fretless) which is sunburst with no pickguard and factory roadworn, a jazz neck with vintage tint (came from eBay, can't remember make was about £100 new + fender decal), Wilkinson bridge/tuners/strap buttons, Seymour Duncan basslines pickups with a Kiogon series parallel loom using Wilkinson aged control plate. Think that's it. It plays nice however may need setting up to suit personal preference. Selling as I simply don't use it and have got too many basses sitting about! Viewing and trial welcomed, would prefer collection or meet but may post. Sale prefered but pm any trades

  13. Anyone for a bargain?
  14. I bought karlfers one of these (and stupidly sold it!) and can vouch for how good they are. Fantastic growly p bass tone! GLWTS
  15. Gosport, between Portsmouth and Southampton
  16. Just bought a GK banner off budaman, communication was excellent and was delivered quickly. Cheers!
  17. It doesn't have front lights and I'd imagine postage to be no more than £10
