2. Go through to the Status Graphite site either direct or via Statii.com
3. Status Hotwire flats. Decent price, medium tension, jobs a good un...
4. All pms replied to. I've certainly had some interest in this particularly fine Rick but so far it's still available.
5. Yes - suits you sir! Thanks for the above comments, it is quite pretty and also has the distinction of sounding big and fat even through my compact set up. Still open for some trade options, I've got a rare week off next week and could do a meet up :-)
6. If its got the nice slim neck like this 4004cii and is in vgc then.....:-)
7. PMs replied to. Still available.
8. If I can get some movement on my Rick, as Arnie says...'I'll be back' you're not too far off.
9. Some interesting trade offers but still available. PMs replied to.
10. Ahhhh.....ear wax. The Harry Potter equivalent of 'bugger'.
11. Great price there J, if by some happenstance I get a quick sale on my item I will pay you a visit.
12. I've only had this bass for a matter of weeks and unfortunately we're not bonding as well as I'd hoped. I've had a dabble with Ricks before and thought this would fit in well with the new band situation but unfortunately I'm more of a Musicman/Fender guy and don't really know how to get this to work for me. So.....to cut a long story short I'm looking for a suitable trade, I'd consider the following: 4 Strings only Custom shop Fender Jazz Musicman Classic Ray Rick 4003 (2011 or newer) Status Stealth 2 I'm open to other suggestions - I can only say no. Regarding the bass; well it's in completely mint condition as is the case - what more can I say i.e. the beautiful Jetglo finish is completely utterly and totally unmarked. If you're looking at this ad you know how much these cost so I'm putting a trade value of £1500 on the bass but for cash I'd look at £1450. No overseas - sorry. At a push I will post but courier will have to be arranged by the buyer BUT i'd rather do a meet so the buyer gets to see before acquiring. Anyway (hopefully) here's some iPhone 5 pics....... .......well yes but unfortunately the anti-gravity seems to be turned on. But you get the idea!
13.
Really? The neck collapsing into the pickup cavity is pretty notorious. The whole thing where the moved the neck pickup was supposedly to address it, although in the ones I've seen, the route is still oversized so didn't really address the weak point as well as it should have.
Sorry to be pedantic but I thought you meant a physical dislocation of the neck join...not a 'folding up' due to structural weakness caused by excessive routing. In this case it isn't the joint that's at fault but the integrity of the neck through block itself ;-)
14. This would partner my Streamline nicely. Pity I don't have any of your wish list to trade
15. .......and relax. I'd be surprised if the neck join has anythng to do with the relief/action - never heard of this being a weak spot. If anything it should be better than a bolt-on. If there's still a bit of relief in the neck slowly wind it down using the rods.....it's hard to bugger anything up on a 4003 unlike the 4001 - just make sure you apply equal turns to each rod. Regarding the ding, either pay a lot of money to a good restorer or learn to live with it - it doesn't look too bad and I'd be surprised if it knocks the value of the bass much.
16.
If you as a bass player can't hear what the bass line is, then your audience won't notice if you play something discrete and tasteful that you've made up yourself to fit the song.
I'll remeber that when some pillock points out that I missed the octave triplet and passing note 5th in the 18th bar.........
17.
I agree, there is a fair bit you can do with them, the newer models even have a vintage/modern circuit on then them, 2 pups, 2 tones controls, stereo feed if you want it, that's just for starters. Just like a good old P and one trick pony.. great sound no matter what you do imo, The only thing the Rick can miss is a bit of clout compared to a P in the very lowend, but the Rick has a lot of sweet mid sounds that you won't get on any other bass. That's how I hear them.
Depends which Rick..... My 4004 sounds very like a 4003 with added bottom end on the bridge pup and very beefy on the neck pup solo'd. Both pups is, well....different!
18. Same here, swapped out the piece of crap tuners in my Squier P with chrome open geared. Good tuners, good price.
19. Good, honest, working basses......nothing wrong here!
20. I'm just going up Sheffield now James, need to go to look at Audis with the missus. She has more expensive taste in cars than I do in basses......well maybe not. Honestly though mate I daren't, it would be lust at first site and I'd be selling basses/trashing the bank account.
21. Don't tempt me J, don't tempt me! I'm really missing my 75RI - the Rick that replaced it is awesome but I didn't realise how much I'd miss having a Jazz in the house.
22. Good luck matey.......it'll be great!
23. Very nice J, unfortunately no Sad to trade though..
24. I wish these would hurry up and sell......
