1. IMHO, if the neck needed a lateral shim to bring it into alignment I would return it. If just loosening off and 'tweaking' which you could do while adjusting the rod then do it - you've nothing to lose (just be careful that you don't knock any paint chips out of the pocket as the shop keep may spot this and whine if you end up returning it).
2. Forgot to mention, the bass comes with the original G & G case which is in very good condition.
3. Cheers Guys, Got to admit it is the nicest Jazz I've owned. If it sells Shem I'll give it some thought.
4. Saw them when they did the Penthouse and Pavement tour a couple of years back.....you're in for a treat!
5. Whoop..seems to be working now, so here's the pics...
6. I've had an ad lurking amongst the 'Items Wanted' for a while for a Rick 4003 without luck so I thought I'd go for a sale p/ex with my FSR Fender Jazz. I've had the bass a while but despite me loving the sound of it I'm not really using it in the bands I'm currently playing in. I hate leaving good basses sitting in the case for too long so....... This is a Fender Special Run 2002 US made 75RI Jazz bass in great condition one of about 200 that were made in CAR. If you do a search of these basses on here you'll find they have near legendary status and are considered pretty much custom shop quality. It comes with all the original case candy (with exception of the curly lead); the pup and bridge covers are mint and have never been mounted on the bass. For a straight sale I'm looking at £999. I would prefer a trade for a Rick 4003 in similar condition (i.e. excellent) with the appropriate cash adjustment. For some reason photo uploads don't seem to be working at the moment - I'll attach when this is sorted.
7.
Very funny. I did try it out. And, although it still works, I doubt I'd buy another Status. Things have not gone well with that bass, and I have neither the time, fuel money, inclination or funds to undo them. That, and it's missing a string. Though I doubt it'd do well as a fiver, seeing as the 4 seems to lack bottom end clout. Most expensive bass I buy? On paper the best. In reality, sitting in a cupboard. Unloved and unsaleable/untradable. Even I f*** up sometimes.
Just shows how different we all are, one mans...and all that. I find a Streamline has oodles of bottom end through a Barefaced Compact. Have to agree on the Kingbass though....
8. As with others comments, lovely tone on that George, nice to see one being being played finger stylee. Not helping the resurgence of my Rick GAS.
9. Had one of these myself, regarded by Sterling himself as the best Stingray EB have ever made. £900 for a bass that's better than a new Classic Ray.........
10. Still looking for a Squier CV jazz or similar......happy to add some cash into the deal :-)
11. All, the best George, sorry to hear about your problem, if I had £1500 etc.....unfortunately stuff isn't moving quick and I think it would take a few weeks to shift my AVRI Jazz
12. Try for another bump. I've had a few requests for a 'sale' price. Undecided on this option as yet because I think it's probably better to part out than sell whole.
13. I occasionally detune to eb - seems to be a necessity if the band's playing Lizzy. But I usually do it with my Status - seems to be immune to the process. If I were to be doing it all the time I'd probably tune one bass to eb and leave it that way.
14. This is sooooo tempting. What's the weight like matey?
15. Thanks for the offer, but as I've found to my cost (on no less than 5 separate occasions) I don't get on with 5s. The only 5er that could possibly tempt me to have another go would be a Streamline but I don't have £1700 going spare....
16. Pms replied to. Would consider trade offers of other basses of a two pickup jazz type variety :-)
17.
I would personally take EBMM's offer to sell you a new neck.
Personally, I'd fit it with a Status neck.....at least that won't go wonky. I think that MM's response is acceptable but it's just that some manufacturers do go a lot further to look after their customers even if they are 2nd owners. For example I had great support from Overwater on a used bass a few years back, it's things like this that make this MMs response in this case look wanting.
18. Oh, forgot to add, I'm prepared to put in some cash for the right bass.......but not looking for a MIA just a decent backup.
19. Cheers Marcus, enjoyed doing all the mods etc, just a shame that its not my sound. If you're into the P bass vibe though its spot on!
